Ok, this came to me where every other random thought comes, but anyways...
If you were to be affected by Goblinization Day/The Awakening/SURGE/etc., what would you become, and what would be your first words?
Me, I'd think it hillarious to Goblinize into an Ork, my first words being "Huh, I guess they were right in calling me a monster..." As I get back up, sit down, and continue eating sushi.

Since I am tall as a skyscraper already and lack the grace of an elf, I'd probably end up a Troll.
First words: "Me smash puny human!"

I'd be an ork. No doubt about it. I'd look at myself in the mirror, go "I guess the GM was right!" and go on with my day. Prolly scare the crap out of my girlfriend though >.<

Mar 3 2010, 05:20 PM
That depends. What does a 12 foot long dragon think when he wakes up in a pile of kindling he called a bed the night before?
Likely, "I need a new bed."
I realize you're talking about that day as if it was identical to ShadowRun's, to which I don't have a good answer because I don't know which of the metavarients I'd end up as.

Yeah, a giant would be nice too . . aside from not fitting into any vehicle/building anymore, you could simply step over everything in your way.
cats, dogs, people, motorbikes, horses . .

I'd probably get the biggest shaft of them all end up a changeling and no real qualities worth mentioning.
My first words would prob be "An outcast to the end, I guess."

Probably an Ork, I've got the build for it and everything already. First comment? "Well, time to see the dentist."
Neowulf
Mar 3 2010, 08:36 PM
My left ear already has a pointy bit on it that makes it look like a normal ear ate an elf ear, so either ork or elf. Or surge and look like a half-elf, left half of an elf stitched to the right half of a human...
No matter what I'd probably awaken and get myself burned at the stake in this church obsessed town.
First words? "Aww crap, I knew it..."

A Drake, probably. If I'd change into ork or troll, everybody would kill me with laugh...

Troll here. I've actually got two extra teeth (just as listed for trolls in some edditions) and a connective tissue disorder (mines to soft, but that's only because its not getting enough mana, and to allow me to grow quickly when the time comes). Dispite this diorder, I've never broken a bone; if my genetics were normal, I'd be built like a linebacker. I've got a low charisma, mostly because I like being left alone, and wouldn't be rendered sub-moronic by loosing some IQ points.
Oh, and I'm pretty much full blooded German / Scottish, the two countries with the largest proportion of trolls in SR.
Goblinizing would almost certainly kill me; part of my aorta is artificial (see connective tissue disorder) so I'd be trying to pump a trolls worth of blood through a pipe made for a human. Ouch.

Man, that sucks, Mongoose. Then again, if you houserule reality, trolls get regeneration, so you should be fine long enough to get a new one implanted, mind you, watch your essence. xD
Also, sorry to make light of your condition, it's a psychological thing for me. Introduce Serious element=Make relative joke.

I'd emerge as a TM, prolly either stay human or end up an ork (though I'd prefer elf).

Hmm, awaken as a mage (likely stay human) and would likely follow something along the lines of the old psionics path (Which for some reason was labeled 'wrong' as though it is possible for a magical tradition to be wrong). Basically a belief that even though magic now exists, I can quantify it, explain it, reason it, and generally treat it as a new branch of science.
My first words? "Finally!"

Given the only thing I'm lacking from appearing as an elf is the sharply pointed ears (mine are already pointy, just not to the same extent as SR Elves), I'd prolly end up as an elf.
My kids would likely as well. They are all lithe, slim, exhibit significant physical grace, and charismatic like there is no tomorrow. 3rd daughter can compel you to do stuff for her without saying anything.
