I've been poking my head in, in case our GM came back - but you guys have mostly starting up an informal GM-less game (and there seemed to be plenty of player activity). Tag didn't really have a place in a bar (which was, perhaps, a problem with the concept).

If someone took the reigns and wanted to start a new game, I'd be interested in playing if there's room, though.

Yeah, we went through a bit of role play demonstrating our respective skills, but things have quieted down the last week or two. I figured Bongo's Enthralling Performance would give folks a chance to see each other standing out from the crowd, and maybe force a meeting... along the lines of "Alright, let's bring the elephant in the room out in the open. What the drek are we all doing here?"

Bongo has certainly kicked it up a notch.
Max felt the groove sinking into his mind like a lovers breath in his ear. But the buzz of coke jerked his brain again and he pulled back into the moment. He noticed the same could not be said for the general population. The frothy swells of the crowd swam into one slow wave. He looked to the Table he had recently left to see their reaction while he typed into the comm in his lap,
<<[@Flax]You my friend are the definition of serendipity. I have never seen as many talented people with nothing to do. And I know plenty of people that need things done. Take the music man here. I could have doubled my take in Cali last month with this guy around. How're the Ladies over there doing? they miss me already don't they?>>
Max doesn't fail to keep his conversation with Tristan going in all of this,"So what are you into Tristan, dancing, urban brawl, cars? you strike me as a car guy. "

Tristan shakes off the effects of the hypnotic performance, although he has to admit to himself, it's only because he was forewarned. He wonders what Bongo's motivation is. The man seems relatively guileless (although that's part of his own act, so he doesn't take that appearance at face value). But he might be using this perfomance to figuratively mark his territory. He keeps a watchful eye on the table with the two women sitting at it, to see how they react. If the situation gets ugly, the last thing he wants is to be stuck in the middle of a magic duel.
He has met people like Max before - the wheeler dealers who are always multitasking. Mollie falls into that category, too...
The cheapie commlink he is tapping into doesn't seem to fit the rest of the man's persona, though. He files the observation away for later - little incongruities like that often make sense later, when he has more complete information.
That last comment. A subtle hint about his previous work for Hyundai? Or maybe he's being a bit paranoid. Best to keep his reply equally ambiguous.
"Yeah, nothing like being behind the wheel. I miss the company limo, and all the amenities, but I like my tricked-out bike better. Just me and the road, now. I like the club scene, making connections. Never got into urban brawl, though. Violence shouldn't be flashy. It should get right to the point, and be done."
Tristan still seems amiably relaxed. His aura shows more wariness, but no fear or signs of imminent violence, at least not yet.

This guy is a cold pro. I drop a hint about his past and he takes it in stride, no flinch, no anger. And he throws it right back, an unspoken conversation. So where do we go from here Maxi?
Max looks Tristan square, to make sure he's coming along. A slight glimmer of boyish mischief sparkles in Max's face,"I love Bikes man, the wind, the rush, that engine growling between your legs. For some of the circles I run in though, A bike just won't do. Sometimes you gotta let 'em know you got people working for you from jumpstreet, you know what I mean? some parties, you can't get past the front gate without an entourage." Max runs a quick finger under his nose with a sniff and strokes his chin with a thumb and forefinger,"Infact, I just so happen to have such a party coming up, you interested in getting back into a Limo?"
Max's hand sent an order for another vodka and Buzz and decided to send a drink to the lone mage he had yet to talk to. He sent an invitation to join him with the beverage.

The song ends... the crowd goes wild for the band. The band stares at their drummer. The drummer gapes at Bongo. Bongo slides past the still-grooving security guard and heads towards his table. And he stops in the middle of the floor. He looks around, at his table, at the woman by the bar, at the guy hovering near the booth, and at the ladies in the booth. Though the crowd has no idea, all the standouts know what just happened, and their auras are twitching like a cat's tail with a mouse in sight. Despite being used to drawing attention with his performance, Bongo does not like the feel of being that mouse.
"This is the moment, then, Mouse-boy. Tweak the elephant's tail." Bongo strides towards the back booth, displaying more confidence than he feels. When he approaches, he introduces himself, and then speaks to Dana, the one Lucretia said owned the bar.
"Good evening, ladies. Please forgive my intrusion. There is an elephant in the room, and I really would like us all to stop ignoring it. My name is Bongo Slade." He opens an AR calling card for the women at the table. "I'm new in town and looking for work. You've seen some of what I can do. I am a firm believer in capitalizing on the opportunities chance places in our path. There is an amazing confluence of people in this room who have talents that could work marvelously together if only they were given the opportunity to meet. It's pretty clear to me we all are here for our own reasons, and not to prey on any one of us." He smiles at Pyro, and shifts his gaze to the others in the room, returning to the owner. "Ms. Dana, I will happily donate an evening's performance for a party of your choice if you would invite all of us together at one table. I would love to see what synergy develops. Would you be willing to do that?"

Tristan grins, a smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes, which show a hint of his mind at work, running all of the angles.
"I've been to those kind of parties. Alas, usually as the designated driver. But that's my role in life, I guess, bailing out my buds when they get in a bit too deep."
His smile quirks slightly. "Too much... I think I strangled the car metaphor to death... but yeah, I'm definitely interested in getting together with some of the other local talent here."
Tristan looks thoughtful when Bongo pauses mid-floor, after his dance set, before heading over to the table with the two women. It should be interesting how that plays out. Definitely some unusual opportunities tonight, but Bongo's targets might be a bit too skittish to pursue them in this public venue.

Dana looks down at Slade, even while sitting, and does not look amused. "If this is your poor attempt to get some work, it backfired. Rather than piquing my interest, you've made a fool of yourself, and you draw all the wrong kinds of attention to yourself. I don't do business with amateurs, go away." The trepidation of a moment ago dissolves and Bongo feels the thrill and confidence that comes from being right. That is to say, he isn't out on his ear already. She is angry, but still talking.
"Dear lady. If by 'amateur' you mean the original sense, then indeed I am one who loves his work. If you take the modern usage, then surely you don't mean my music. You will not find a better percussionist in the country, much less this small town. I suspect you mean something else. But let's examine that for a moment.
"No one in this room perceived what I did except the people I wanted to see me, namely you and the others of whom I have spoken. Your packed-like-sardines crowd thinks the band got good all of a sudden. They will be disappointed when they hear more, and will be far more aware of the band's deficiencies than they were half an hour ago. Word will spread, and the fortunes of this establishment will depend on you providing music that at least tries to live up to the promise of that one performance. My offer still stands, one night here in this place if you like, and I and the musicians I select will seal Ion Eyes' reputation as hot and cool.
"All I ask in return is that you provide a quiet place where tonight's serendipity can flower. Give us all a room to meet, talk and capitalize on the circumstance of our presence together tonight. I would not presume to ask you for work like this, but given that my bumptious stranger act drew from you an admission that you are indeed in that 'other business', I would be happy to invite you as well, for I sense that opportunity is not something from which you shy away, either.
"What do you say? One night of the best music in Seattle, music that will make Ion Eyes the envy of all your competition, as payment for a meeting place tonight."

Bongo smiled. "Not dead yet! This is good." "Nope. I'm just making an observation, and a business offer. You stand to profit handsomely from this simple deal. There is no down side for you."
Dana drummed her fingers on the table as she thought this through. She glanced at Pyro who seemed to be torn between amusement at Dana's confusion, and pique at Bongo's intrusion. "Typical. Alright. Let's see where this kid's cojones lead tonight."
"Sure. I will have a room ready in an hour for your meeting. Staff will come and get you when it is ready. I will check my schedule and have a date for you by then. No negotiation on the performance date, but you will have at least two weeks to get your band together. If I don't like the performance, you won't like the aftershow. Deal?"
Bongo's smile spread from ear to ear. "Deal. I will assemble my new-found associates. Of course, the two of you are invited to this meeting." Bongo bows to each of the women separately, and heads back to his table. "Good news, chummers. We have a private room in an hour to get together. Max, you wanna invite your friend with the commlink? Bongo decided to move on to the quiet room and wait for events to happen. There was a large, large man standing by the door, who indicated entry with a nod of his head.
A few minutes later, Max came in, and wondered about the security in the room. "Seems like a good spread of barriers and impediments for snooping," Bongo replied. "There is a object in the light at the center of the ceiling that looks like it could be an anchor for a ward. Non ward is up right now. There are white noise generators spread throughout. Have to see how this goes. If nothing else, I'll get some commcodes from some awakened talent, which can open up lots of opportunities. Still, I'm not sure I like the power dynamics here. Tristan nods respectfully as the two women enter the room. He watches the interplay between Dana and Bongo with what seems to be faint nervousness, although actually he is carefully analyzing the emerging power dynamics in the room. His own approach tends to be to seem nonthreatening and bide his time.
It often works even on people who know better - which is good, considering the "accident" that showed those in the know how wired he really is. And considering that some of these people are probably scanning him astrally.
When Dana's intense gaze moves from Bongo to him, he smiles slightly self-deprecatingly. "Too soon to really tell for me, I suppose. I've avoided any serious missteps so far, though."
To Pyro, unobtrusively behind Dana a bit, Tristan doesn't seem threatening at all. A young ork, with wavy, slightly unruly hair and wide hazel eyes, with a half-unbuttoned shirt - and if he's hiding a gun, it isn't in those jeans.
