Streetsam for my rocket launcher can produce bigger and better fireballs than that wimpy mage can.

Nothing prevents a mage from using a rocket launcher, either. My last (totally uncybered) sorcerer was also our heavy weapons guy. He once took out an Ant queen with an RPG. The biggest fireball he ever produced was with a combination of telekinetically placed C4 and Ball Lightning, though.

Given the choice of being a completely wired street sam or mage, I'd take the mage. Strangely enough, I've played a whopping total of one mage character in my ... 16+ years of playing Shadowrun.
