bio:
[ Spoiler ]
Còsimo de'Ferrara was originally born Còsimo Blacktalon to Leanna Blacktalon, a human-looking Ork resident of Sidhe country. His father had only come into the country just long enough to impregnate his mother and split, leaving behind only his first name. His mother never spoke of the man, and attempted to raise him and his 3 siblings alone. However, Còsimo was quite the difficult child, at odds with everything in that rural life, and, by the age of 10 (about 15 for an Ork) he ran away to Seattle to possibly seek out his father and a life in the city.
He arrived first in the southern reaches of Puyallup, an unfamiliar place called Loveland. While there, he hooked up with various youth gangs and learned to forage, steal and rob to get by. He was a fairly slick thief, and good enough with a bat to distinguish himself. In fact, he got a reputation as being completely fearless in a fight, throwing himself bodily at larger and more numerous opponents. The strange sort of respect some rivals afforded him for this unwavering tenacity probably saved him from what could have otherwise been several fatal beatings. In fact, some rivals even became friends with "Crazy Cozi" and his hoodrat crew on account of the fire he showed.
Meanwhile, Còsimo would still scuttle off for days at a time, trying to track down any record of his father. This behavior payed off during his 15th year when he managed to contact someone who not only knew his father, but wanted Còsi to come in and speak with him. It turns out that his father had been a Made Man in the Ferarra family, which had hands in running the less above-board dealings of United Steelworkers Union since its inception. However, there would be no awkward father/gutter-rat reunion, as Còsimo's father was two years dead. His father, his uncles, aunts, cousins, all his family on that side was casualty of a vicious campaign of assassination. Còsimo turned out to be the inheritor of much estate and a name which still held weight within the organization.
The men who contacted him, "Mr. Deluca" and "Sal", took him to Downtown Seattle in an attempt to use his name and the moneys which he claimed in order to work their way up the ladder of power. Unfortunately for them, the difficult young child grew up to be a difficult young man. Còsimo, knowing full well what fate befell the Ferrara before him trained incessantly and spent large gashes of money on protective and offensive cyberware. Furthermore while he lacked the mental faculties to really advance through his own machinations, his stubborn nature prevented him from acting as a pliant tool for those who would use him. Despairing that they had wasted their time on Còsimo, the men who originally attempted to bring him into The Life tried to take him out of it.
In the end, whatever family resemblance or DNA authentication he had wasn't enough to make up for the fact that Còsimo was a street-rat kid, who, as far as they could tell, was psychopathic. He ran his tutorsofts with Vasari, (his personal Agent and makeshift companion,) and learned his lessons alright, but there was a terribleness inside of him that they knew they could never control. The hunger behind his easy smile was a chasm which they might accidentally step in, and which would swallow them whole. So, one day after lessons, they took him out to "see how the rounds are run." Cosimo knew they were lying. He knew that they were tiring of him and that it was only a matter of time before they ditched him. Vasari had been warning him of the signs for a while. When they drove out near the docks and asked him to stay in the car while they talked to somebody, Còsimo knew what was up immediately.
He waited a beat and then made a break for an open warehouse door. Just inside, he spotted a man in the Low Light with a gun in one hand and a detonator in the other. Còsimo emptied a silenced long burst into the guy's chest with his Ingram X and then an explosion sent him flying. When Còsi got up his head was throbbing. He stumbled to the doorway and stuck his Smartgun around the corner to get a picture of what was outside. On the ground Salvatore was writhing in pain before two of his bodyguards come out of hiding, while Mr. Deluca was quite dead. The early detonation had gotten them both. Còsimo took his time and put a well aimed, silenced burst right into one of the bodyguard's heads, and then ran behind the burning mass of the destroyed car. The other body guard, afraid for his life, started dragging a screaming Salvatore 4 or 5 meters before he caught two bursts and fell over, already dead. Còsimo was practically beaming with joy as he emptied the rest of his magazine into Sal's pleading face. It was only after this that Còsimo realized he'd had his gun's gas-vent open instead of the silencer. He was now almost completely deaf.
The men he killed, unfortunately, had far more friends within the organization than he ever had, and they were not very forgiving. His dispute was recognized but he was no longer welcome or protected. Besides, Sal and Mr. Deluca had used their power of attorney (which Còsimo ignorantly signed over to them,) to empty his accounts that morning. So, with nowhere else to stay, he bought a bike and fled to back to Puyallup, where he eventually hooked up with the motley crew of the Dozen. He originally did so to lay low, but still have protection, however as the Tempo craze heated up, he began seeing benefits within the gang, and his ambition began pushing him towards more and more extreme activities. Before the Tempo collapse, he had managed to find several people in various syndicates with whom he could trade information and favors, and he hooked back up with an earlier acquaintance in Black Marc, a hoodie tagger turned dealer in illicit goods and services.
Personality:
[ Spoiler ]
Còsimo is a Sociopath nee Psychopath. That is the most important thing to remember when dealing with him. While he may smile warmly or joke around with the crew, underneath that, he is boundlessly frustrated by a world which does not work the way he believes it should. However, far from being a destructive rebel, lashing out randomly, he tries very hard to reorder the world to fit his desired form. However, when others purposely upset him in his attempts he is occasionally overcome with a roiling, spitting fury. Because of his disappointment with the outside world, he spends a lot of time in full sim, mentally relaxing and ordering around Vasari, his agent. In fact, he is in constant contact with Vasari, preferring to wear his trode headband at all times so that he can send mental commands and receive AR replies, all in complete silence. Not that he is really a fan of complete silence, but it certainly helps since he relies on his earbuds to provide him with regular auditory senses in compensation for the loss of hearing incurred when his former patrons attempted to assassinate him. Speaking of which, trust issues are another sore subject with Cozi. He is all smiles and friendship upfront, but it becomes apparent pretty quickly that it's surface-thin and he is just waiting for you to try something so that he can put you down.
Description: - Oh hay.
Pic 1 Pic 2[ Spoiler ]
Còsimo is taller than average for a human. He has slightly larger tusks and pointier- hey wait. This guy is an Ork. He's got short-cropped black hair, and an olive complexion with visible plates embedded under his skin. He constantly wears dark glasses with rotating lenses for variable magnificaton, a trode band with the hair shaved off underneath, a rather beat up leather long coat with a black band on the sleeve and a slightly worn-out suit vest and slacks underneath. You may notice that he's armed, you may not. It all depends on where he's walking.
Astral Description:
[ Spoiler ]
Còsimo's aura is a strong, if dirty, yellow from which there are occasional bursts of bright red. The sense given is of an armor of unnatural calm and relaxation encasing an intense latent hostility. This is not indicative of a healthy mind. There is evidence enough here to assume he has undergone a modicum of cybernetic augmentation, but he is certainly more man than machine. And by man I mean Ork. That much is apparent as well, but not prominently so. It is not a strong part of his identity and, as such is not very apparent on his aura.
Contacts:
[ Spoiler ]
Black Marc (2/2): Marcus Brown, street name Black Marc, grew up on the streets of Puyallup running with gangs, but staying out of conflicts. He was mainly a tagger, going around and marking ground for his crew. When he wasn't putting up turf lines, his style of choice was to paint idyllic cityscapes filled with smiling people and then spray big dripping black lines across their smiling eyes. That became his sign. The wet dripping black mark on top of any work, an act meant to reject the meaning and the art itself. In time, Marcus grew up to be a dealer. Not in drugs or chips so much as in stolen name brand goods, illegal, modified tools and information. He ran that sort of SINless supermarket that keeps the Barrens alive. Not that he was running a service for the public good. Point of fact, when things started heating up with Tempo, he graduated to guns and death, going as far as to organize hits on behalf of interested parties. That young street punk had become a man of respect. Black Marc is a Fixer.
Michael Tucado (1/3): There are Button Men on the streets and Capos in the clubs, and then there are the guys in between. That's Michael. He's a middle aged middle man in the midst of one of the biggest syndicate shakeups in history. Things haven't looked good for old Michael for a while now, and all this work is just giving him an ulcer. He'll trade money or favors for reliable intel or help. He knows he's going nowhere in the organization and is happy enough playing coach to a bunch of street thugs in order to keep his family provided for, so one shouldn't expect too many surprise moves out of this guy. He's not really all that flexible anymore. He's a Mafia Lieutenant and that's all he'll ever be.
Johnny Kono (1/4): Jun Konishi, street name Johnny Kono, was born for speed. He loves everything fast and hard and sharp. He and his gang of Razor-boys and Gillettes love to cruise around their turf in northern Puyallup, causing a scene and keeping the locals terrified. Johnny and his go-gang ride under the banner of the Komun’go Seoulpa Ring, but that doesn't stop them from taking outside offers. They will throw down for cash or trade, even though they'd probably do it just for the thrill. Johnny especially. But Johnny's not dumb. He knows that with the Tempo almost gone he's going to have to branch out into businesses besides driving real fast and slicing up chumps. The Komun’go Ring might have a cell-based internal architecture, but that doesn't mean that Johnny and his gang aren't looking for a lift.

The idea here is for Cosi to be the Tour Guide of sorts. He is intimately familiar with Loveland, the gangs and the rackets.
Additionally, if you need short, medium or long-range gun support, he's your guy.
