the punk thing to do would be to use such an advanced piece of kitchenware to cook up a new batch of party drugs held in some decommissioned mall or other. That, i think, is the topic we need to focus on when trying for cyberpunk. Not the 80s fashion or such, but the adage of "the street finds its own use for things". For instance, if one look at the tech in SR books, much of it may have a legitimate medical use. But with the right tweaks and disabling of certain limiters, it gains a very different usage scenario. The problem i guess is that what we see in SR is the post-mod stuff, or even corp made products as if they where aimed at the shadows (or some of that may be security or military thats appropriated by the shadows).
