Just a heads up so that you dont think Im forcing my way into the game

Id prefer if Dash made my assense rolls....I always feel better with 3rd party rolls..that way I dont feel guilty about posting surprisingly good rolls, or tempted to ignore catastrophic failures.

Accesnsing: 11 09 03 01 01 01 #D:6 TN:8 HR:11 S:2
That'll give you two successes. Without the books at work, I'd say that that would let you know that Rowan is generally alert and feeling somewhat nervous/agressive. But, it's a general form of agressivness, seemingly not directed at you. She's not magically active and has some cyberware but is no way "more machine now than [wo]man." If I screwed the pooch with the results of the roll, I can fix them in about 4 hours when I get off work.
Oh, and welcome in Blitz!
Blitz
Jan 12 2004, 03:28 PM
It in no way changes the number of successes, but TN for assensing is 4...for me 6 because of held spells.
2 successes gives the following information:
General state of health
Presence or absense of cyberware
General Emotional state or impression
Class of magical subject
Mundane or Awakened
Recognized aura
Dashifen
Jan 12 2004, 03:46 PM
Yeah, so the information stays basically the same, then, too. Rowan is healthy and not awakened, too. Which is the only stuff that I didn't right in the first paragraph.

Outside information, just in case anyone wonders, Gio's the guy Rowan used to get jobs from not too long back. And I wonder if Sophia knows that Gio Brady is not Gio Brady
Dashifen
Jan 12 2004, 03:56 PM
Bradly, not Brady. Thinking back ... I believe that, yes, both Sophia and Gio were aware of the compications of their relationship. If I didn't mention that to you before, Blitz (since we set this up a while ago), then consider it that you know Gio's Family and yours are not exactly bedfellows --- even if you and Gio are

Hey Dash, one thing that I just relised is that you had the guy shoot at my head, but if they could see through my invis, then they would realize that I'm wearing armor on my head too. Form Fitting Full Suit goes over the head, as does my Rapid Transit Helmet, and even though they can't see it, I also have bone lacing.
Grey
Jan 12 2004, 04:14 PM
I'm taking a guess that he has 4 points of cover.
Shoot (Base TN4, +4 Cover, -2 Smartlink): 17 10 08 05 02 02 #D:6 TN:6 HR:17 S:3

Jan 12 2004, 04:25 PM
I didn't really specify where he was calling the shot -- just that it was bypassing armor ... I guess you could say he was shooting for your face or soemthing -- you're right on the bone lacing, though. Had the shot done any damage, that armor would still apply as far as I usually rule it.
Yup. He has 4 points of cover, but you're still at long range so the TN is 6 not 4. That's okay, because you still had 2 successes and he didn't dodge so he still got hammered.

That was my last action actually, so a new round starts now.
How hard would it be for you to whip up a quick map of the 5th floor real quick with people's locations? I'm just outside the bathrooms, taking cover at that wall.
Rerolling initiative... 31 again

I'm gunna need a description of whats going on around me before I take any more actions.

Fifth Floor LocationsAkuma is the red A, the guards are the red X's, and the N's are for the three nurses on this floor. The guard at the far end of the station is the one you just shot and the on that is just around the upper right hand corner is the one that's sneaking around to flank you.
The one you just shot is probably totally hidden for the moment, and the other guard has partial cover (+2). The nurses are all cowering behind the station trying to stay out of the line of fire, as are the hospital "guests."
Let me know if you need anything more specific.

You're assensing test got 1 success. P. Fogg, why don't you summarize the data that's relavent that Sophia learns from the assensing test. Here is what she learns from your aura:
General state of health
Presence or absense of cyberware
General Emotional state or impression
Class of magical subject
Mundane or Awakened
Recognized aura
Most of that is what she learned before, but you can probably better describe what Rowan is feeling right now than me.

that was my bad -- i relied on the rules for jamming electronics that my old GM used. However, as I've learned the rules for myself, I've found that he used a lot of house rules and then just kept his game consistent to them without really telling us. Good for continuity, bad for learning the rules from him. As Grey pointed out, his jammer is definately covering the whole building.

Rowan and Sophia, how long does it take them to do what they are doing? I'm on my 3rd combat round right now, meaning not even 9 seconds have passed. I just wanted to know, because Akuma plans on catching up with them when he finishes with the guards.

Hey all, I'm back and mostly caught up with what's going on.
Hey Blitz, good to have you on the team.
So with the jammer running, can I still talk to the group, or are we all flying solo for the time being? On the cameras, noticing the three heading towards the elevator, I would do my thing to make sure they had exclusive use of the elevator. Is our SUV parked near one of the ground floor entrances? If so, is that going to be the next stop of the elevator...ground floor? Another if so, what's the lobby looking like through the cameras, any more suits/star?
Dashifen
Jan 15 2004, 07:36 PM
that is good use of influence -- didn't even think of that myself but had a different solution in mind if I had been playing (bane of the GM). As for the timelines, I think that you will probably be able to mop up all of the issues on the fifth floor at about the same time that Rowan and Sophia are leaving the fourth. This is assuming that at about the same time you ran up to the fifth floor (encompasing a few more seconds than combat would actually have represented) Rown left room 408 and began talking to Sophia. With some time lost in that conversation to getting the wheel chair and maneuvering Gio into it, the same time is used up by Akuma in watching for the guards and everyone hesitating on the fifth floor as actions are held. Not totally within the rules of Shadowrun for that to be the case, but it works out, dammit

Yes, Elfie, with the jammer up, you are basically flying solo. You can be watching things through the cameras that you know about (fifth floor hallway, fourth floor hallway, room 508, and room 422) but those in the car are out of communication until the jammer is turned off.
One more piece of business: the power cord for my laptop was broken and the battery life on it was used up. So, until I get power back to my laptop, I'll be checking the boards only on the mornings and a little bit in the afternoons while i'm at work. So, if my posting frequency decreases for a few days, that's why.
Influence Roll resulted in 7 successes (forgot to save it) and the drain roll had 6, so you really influenced him

and you suffered no drain.

One thing to keep in mind...
If those shots take the guards down, then Akuma will turn the Jammer off.
Dashifen
Jan 16 2004, 02:08 PM
For all purposes, the last shot that Akuma pulls roughly coincides with Rowan and Sophia entering the elevator. This is just so that the storyline is still roughly happening at the same time. I think if we actually added it all up, Akuma spent less time than Rowan and Sophia, but doing it this way makes things easier.

I went with force 5 like you had done in the past. If that's the case, then you definately succeeded with 5 successes and you almost squeeked through with no drain. In case you want to the following is a re-roll of the failures for your karma pool die:
05 05 01 #D:3 TN:2 HR:5 S:2
Which would keep you from having any drain, but it does use up that handy karma pool die just to avoid one light drain. Let me know what you want to do.
