The drones arnt far away... approx 3 miles as the crow flies and closing in fast. As for the van thats about 6 miles away (taking into account it wont be as the crow flies) and making reasonable progress, you can speed it up a bit more, but then you risk having some Lonestar playmates, its your call....

Just done some initive rolls,
Ace - 20
Unknown rigger - 13 (that was a poor roll!)
Treesong - 20
Seeoh - 8
Stranger 1 - 17 (this is the person from the allyway, he is running to the action)
Stranger 2 - 14 (other side of carpark, will draw and fire next turn)
As things stand, Ace still has his move to do something radical... but Treesong used his initive to lash out at the person (Seeoh) he saw through his thermo vision

I forgot to mention, When Treesong hit Seeoh he knocked her to the floor and she sustained moderate stun damage.

I think as I'm in control of the van, I'll speed up a bit til I get into Seattle proper and then keepe to the speed limit but try to use any shortcuts I can fit down to get to the target site faster.... *8->

SHEEEEIIT...
OK, cancel my last statement of intention. My current plan of action is:
a) manuver the Van so that it hits Treesong*
b) put the van between Seeoh and as many attackers as posssible, with the drone being priority number one.
c) shit shit shit, so fucked...
EDIT: If IR vision can make out invisible targets, would the Van's sensors be able to pick up Seeoh? It has level 0 sensros, which, if I recall correcly, includes motion detectors and laser scanners. It would be helpful to know where she is to avoid, um, running her over...

Apr 5 2004, 04:39 PM
Just a note - and bear with me since I haven't checked teh IC thread yet - but Invisibility defeats personal vision (including cybernetically enhanced vision) as I recall. Improved Invisibility also fools cameras and other sensing devices. I thought the only way to detect someone with improved invisibility was to feel them (they're not intangible), hear them or see them on the Astral Plane (since their auras are still present).
Unless I'm wrong, of course...
Callidus
Apr 5 2004, 04:52 PM
As far as i know that how it works DB although it's generally easier to spot the spell in the astral than the person's aura *8-> sppels are good and bright in the astral *8->

hmmm... I believe drain brain might be right, because what he says stands ... in which case as a GM I have fragged up. I thought on the infa red spectrum she would still have been visable. Im trying to think of a way to correct the mistake now... anyone have any ideas?
I would have thought the motion sensors on Ace's van would have picked up the movement, but you wouldnt be able to tell who it was!
Callidus
Apr 6 2004, 12:18 PM
Well if the bad guy had any form of blind fighting he could have hit an invisible mage.... the invis spell doesn't make you intangible so you still make noise and move air so you can fight them.... just harder to hit *8->
And I'd have said the motion sensors would pick up an invis mage because, AFAIK, they work off air movement and tremblers rather than optics and so won't be effected by the imp invis.... well unless Seeoh was running with Stealth up as well *8-> They might pick out the size and shape of the target and poss on high rating sensors *might*, if you're being nice, be able to resolve that to a pre-recorded image of Seeoh's size/shape/density type stuff.... not certain how a SR motion sensor would work.... or how good targeting computers have gotten..... *8->
Silverspur_2020
Apr 6 2004, 12:33 PM
I can see the point about blind fighting.... and it does make sence. but as far as Ace's sensors are concerned, they are only the basic package found on any Roadmaster... so I cant see them being good enough to make that distinction. Maybe that would be an idea for the future, some vehicle mounted weopons, armor and a good sensor package.
GunnerJ
Apr 6 2004, 03:18 PM
There are LOTS of ideas for the future coming out of this little encounter...
Another possibility: He can't see Seeoh with infra-red, but he can see warmth in the air around her or on anything she touches (the street, the van, etc.)
Also, I think motion detector would be able to track someone swinging a weapon and a person flinching from being hit, so that's one way of making a distinction...
Silverspur_2020
Apr 6 2004, 03:48 PM
Fair enough.... I take it that Ace will base his disision on that.
And so that it doesnt interupt the IC thread... Treesong is using blindfighting to hit Seeoh with, but Seeoh will have mods to her rolls as she is invisiable. Or as shes been hit would that break her concentration?
Callidus
Apr 6 2004, 04:17 PM
I don't believe getting hit disrupts sustained spells in SR.... well unless the mage wants to drop them or goes unconc..... although it's really up to you Silver and Seeoh *8->

Height - 5'6"
Condition - Invisible but in a controlled panic that Ace will leave without her.
INITIATIVE:
REACTION TOTAL ---5---
BASE INITIATIVE ---1d6---
INITIATIVE TOTAL ---5+1d6---
If she sees the guy - she knows he's close because she's already seen him - she'll butt him in the guts - and land on the floor.
He doesn't know she's there and, I would think, might take a moment to understand what the image is that he's getting.
If she doesn't see him first, she'll take a hit and fall on the floor away from the wheels of the van, hopefully.
That way the only diff will be whether the guy is winded by a head butt to the midriff.
Seems fair?
Silverspur_2020

Well I had already done initives... but as I fragged up, its only fair that I give you back something in return!!

but this guy is using wired reflexes so I doubt you will beat him on the initive.
I just did a roll and it was 2... plus 5 is 7.....
but on the up side he will probably get run over by Ace in his van!!!

I feel the need for a cavalry moment, Boss - any idea how soon the Chevvy will be on the scene? I'm aiming to start off by keeping the Landrover in place - take out the rigger or something - so they are stuck with us and we can take them out as they come...

Just to be clear, we're not waiting for me to do something? It's just that I feel like I've been slowing this whole run down, I want to make sure I'm not doing so again. (Also, there isn't much of an IC post to make out of "hit goon with car.")

I thought we already did inish... well, OK.
Ace's Init: 12* + 4D6 = 12 + 04 + 04 + 05 + 03 = 28
*The character sheet has 13 for rigged reaction, but this counts the +1 to reaction from enhanced articulation, which does not count for rigged init.
EDIT: Here's his course of action, which I already have an IC post to handle the first part of:
a) manuver the Van so that it hits Treesong
b) put the van between Seeoh and as many attackers as posssible, with the drone being priority number one.

S'far as Seeoh's concerned, Treesong has all the initiative over her.
I would point out that Ladies, generally, button right over left - the buttons are sewn on the left hand side of the jacket. Using her right hand to unbutton her kacket doesn't allow her to, easily, push her hand inside to `go for a gun'. So Treesong shouldn't be too worried.
But then, she's dealing with a Man , what would he know?

Seeoh Spell Casting - TriD Phantasm/3* - Illusion Spell Bonus - Target No.= 4 - Drain = 2D
Spell Casting Dice = 7
Totem Bonus Dice = 2
Spell Pool dice = 2
Results = 1,1,3,3,4,4,4,5,9,11,11 = 7 successes
Drain Resistance Test
Willpower Dice = 6
Spell Pool Dice = 4
Results = 2,3,3,3,4,4,5,5,13,14 = 10 successes - Stages Deadly Drain to Zero.
This is quite possibly the best Drain Resistance Test Drain Brain has ever seen (He said).

In case it useful....
basically I'm sliding the van to a halt, diving out of the cheevy as fast as I can and then do the drone orders.....
The artic arm on the bloodhound should be able to get the rear doors of the van to open and loose the vectored thrust drone. Then sitting in captain's chair for now he's gonna bring the van to him and the guardian drone into the combat zone to hunt targets, and if that turret is still moving/firing when it gets there that's his first target and he'll be going into the guardian to fight... feeeeww! tiring weekend and straight into combat! Those are the nice moments in life *8->
Just thought.... gimme a yell if you want some piloting/sensor test off me *8-> I hate the whole... "Here's my next 25 rolls.... in case you need them" thing smacks of assuming the best and ignoring the upcoming action..... although that's just me and I'm a bit of a nutter so hey! *8->
