D&D Dice Roller

Interrogation 4
Rolled [ 4, 4, 1, 1 ]

My antivirus kept alerting on orokos, so I used something else. Got any other good die roller sites.
Koekepan
OK, Bastard has a dirty feeling that she shouldn't trust Billy any further than she can throw him - and he's a bulky chunk of blubber.

I got a warning that their security ticket(??) or something along those lines expired the day before. I went ahead and used it anyway. If I disappear off the internet you will know why, I guess.
Bastard
Perception - What is Billy looking at, or is he making a call...

5d6= [5, 5, 4, 1, 1]

Koekepan
Billy is apparently making a call. Or doing something Matrix-oriented. Or something like that. Would a geek like him have a headware device? Chances are that he would.
pbangarth
I'm assuming I can write off Billy as a contact, huh?
Koekepan
That remains to be seen. I'm not saying that there will be a redemption arc with the two of you crying and hugging in the rain, but for the time being you can probably put him on the Untrusted list. There's more to life than a few numbers on a sheet.

Koekepan
OK, I'd like rolls from both of you for observation of possible interference or pursuit. Blue's target number is 6, Karmakaze's is 4.

Perception ( Intelligence ) [5d6]

4 Successes! = [6, 5, 4, 4, 3]

Perception check
pbangarth
Good one, bastard!

Blue's roll:

INT 4: 1 success

Alright! He ignored the interesting set of cracks in the pavement that looked sort of like Owl.
Koekepan
Nice rolls.

Blue hears some sort of engine.

Karmakaze looks around, sees nothing, looks up, and spots what looks like a gyrocopter in Mitsuhama livery. It's headed this way.

Just had to throw in a Boss Fight, huh? smile.gif
pbangarth
I'm not sure how long the trip to and time with Billy took. How close are we to sunset?
Koekepan
Why shouldn't I kick when you're down? That's half the fun of being a GM.

And you have a couple of hours to sunset yet.
Bastard
Is a gyrocopter like a full size personnel carrier or is this a drone?

And can I shoot it down?
Koekepan
In this case, a gyrocopter is probably a two-seater. Certainly inadequate to carry a full-blown tactical team, but quite likely armed to some extent. It's almost certainly not a drone (they're usually smaller) although it might be flying unmanned for reasons of speed or efficiency.

Gyrocopters can take off near-vertically, and land vertically, and loiter very efficiently so they're good choices for rapid responses in the enclave.

You're not presently equipped to shoot it down, but you could certainly inhibit a landing.

YES!!!

or

Sleep if there is a pilot.
pbangarth
Blue has to see the pilot to affect him. Fireballing the whole vehicle is always an option, biggrin.gif, though ...

... seeing as Blue is weakened by the Drain AND daytime, maybe we should see if we can slip away?

Will they will be able to track my vehicle?
pbangarth
I guess it depends on how much detail Billy gave them and how close they are. Enough to see us standing over Billy's comatose body?
Koekepan
You have no way of knowing what Billy told them, and what, if any, visual aids they have on board, and what, if anything, they are seeking in particular.

However, it is a reasonable surmise that they have enhanced optics on board, whether in the form of a rigger using installed visual equipment, or a pilot with headware.
Bastard
I guess we have no choice but to book it.
pbangarth
If we enter a building, Blue will lose the rest of the services this spirit owes him. Not a big problem, I guess, if we can dodge surveillance by ducking into a parking garage or something.
Bastard
I will try to catch up and get something posted tonight, or tomorrow morning
Bastard
Not waiting on me, are you?
Koekepan
I've been waiting for pbangarth, actually.
pbangarth
Oh. I figured Karmakaze had summed it up quite well. I was waiting for Jaxx to reply.

--- "I thought you brought the flashlight!" "Me? I thought you had it!" ---
pbangarth
Oh, yeah. Blue was supposed to reply to Jaxx. Sorry for the delay. No excuse, just out to lunch, figuratively speaking.
Bastard
Me, too. It was a feast.

Merry Christmas!
pbangarth
Ah, yes. Side job number 68a.
Koekepan
Hey, everybody wants something.

Some people want many somethings.

And fixers are in the business of things that are wanted.

They're not fixers; they're tarbabies.
pbangarth
Is someone waiting for a post from me?
Koekepan
Not on my end. You'd asked a cogent question.
Bastard
Probably waiting on me. I have been away a lot these past two months.
pbangarth
It's been that way in all three games I'm playing here on DS. Time of year?
Bastard
Probably.

The spirit whiffles off like the puff of dieselsmoke that it looks like.

By any chance, is this spirit Acidsalt Dieselsmog, the spirit Blue summoned a few days earlier, and whom Blue had healed of damage to the spirit's delight and amazement?

Never mind. Wrong spirit.

Karmakaze grabs him by the back of his shirt, placing her pocket knife against the back of his neck, and speaks clearly into his ear;

"""Your deliveries are short. It has not gone unnoticed. The clients on both sides want you gone, but your fixer thinks you're worth a second chance. I am paid the same either way, so leaving you alive is a lot cleaner. So do you want to stop fragging around, stay alive, make everyone's life easy? Or do you want to keep fraggin' around, make you fixer and his client look bad, and force me to come back and dispose of a corpse?"""

She waits for his answer.

Karmakaze reminds me of a training session in which I once took part for Greenpeace. We were learning how to engage with police who were trying to clear out a protest. I was chained to the axle of a car blocking a doorway so a meeting could be obstructed. (All hypothetical for training purposes.)

One of my coworkers played the role of a police officer trying to clean up the blockade. She was a small woman with a warm personality whom all of us really liked. Until she took on the role. I knew it was all role play, but, Geez! I had never felt so dominated as I did then.
pbangarth
Hmmm. Just the skill set Blue and Karmakaze could use. Too bad he's SR4.

Dumpshock having issues?

Had trouble logging in this week, and now my time stamps are 10 minutes behind my computers clock.
Koekepan
I suspect so. I never got some notifications.
pbangarth
Sorry. I just realized you were waiting for me to post.

The trip up is largely uneventful until north of Everett, where there's a big checkpoint across what used to be I5 running up to the canadian border, decades ago. Now it's roughly halfway between Seattle downtown and Bellingham.

I know Canada seems unimportant to you 'Mericans, but please capitalize my country when you speak of it!

Words that come from the names of places – for example languages, nationalities and adjectives that refer to people or things from a country, region or city – are capitalised. We also capitalise nouns and adjectives that come from the names of religions.

Some Canadians speak French.
Londoners eat a lot of Indian food.
Most Muslims fast during the day for Ramadan.

What do you mean?
Koekepan
For a while a couple of weeks ago, Dumpshock was acting up, and one of the apparent symptoms was that notifications of new posts were going missing.
