Where would I FIND the information on the Corporate War? I played 1st and 2nd and then 4th but I missed most of 3rd edition. Over the past few weeks I've had a pretty aggressive campaign to acquire most of the 3rd edition books. I find the Corp War mentioned more than once but haven't as of yet found the actual information yet.

Could someone with more encyclopedic knowledge of the SR universe point me in the right direction please? Which books?

Blood in the Boardroom. The novel Technobabel also narrates the climax of the Fuchi-Renraku feud.

Ahhh so it's all in Blood in the Boardroom? Cool. I picked that one up last week.

There's a few that deal with the before/after and personally I find Corporate Download gives a better overall review of what happened (since Blood in the Boardroom is an adventure book and is therefore written differently than other sourcebooks).

Well. bonus. Corp Download came in this morning just before I left the house. I picked it up as a kinda "Filler" because I had the new corp book but it's good to know it'll be of use. smile.gif

IIRC the events leading up the Corp War really started with the presidential campaign (Super Tuesday) and Dunk's assassination (Portfolio of a Dragon) because there were major power shifts when his will came out. That was some great metaplot planning by the Line Developers back then. It was followed closely by Renraku: Shut Down. Altogether that period was probably some of the best plot material ever released for SR.

I think it was just a great job in hindsight. Looking at it, it seems like they just stuck as many irons as they could near the fire and waited to see which ones got hot. The Fuchi tension was all over the early editions, for example. My personal favorite though was Tir Tairngire which really looked like they were playing a long game with the rebellion there, only to have it completely handwaved away when 4th ed came out. MASSIVE annoyance to me even still.

Cool. I won the Portfolio of a Dragon book yesterday from ebay. It should be here in a few days. Looks like I'm pretty set.

Either way I think we can agree that what they were doing back then worked.
