what ever happened to Fraust? I'm going through the threadf and I don't remember seeing a post from him.
Just to keep things straight as I write them down on my character sheet.
Phelious: "Spaz": Dwarven Decker.
Nu Fenix: "TK": Orc Ganger
Night Crawler: "Link" : Elf Gunbunny
HMHVV Hunter: "Azrael" : Human Adept Gunbunny
Beast of Rev.: "Jones": Rigger
Clockwork: "Brown Tom": Specialist/Face?
Fraust: Human Hermetic Mage?

Clockwork Lime: "Brown Tom"; Face and Demolitionist (with a touch of magic on the side, though he doesn't revolve his life around it).

Fraust dropped out, I think - he disappeared from the OOC thread before the game started.

Link and Jones were with us as well, I believe. At least they took their own vehicles to the establishment. TK went to check a haunt I thought. And Spaz is here to I believe.

The letter is written in Chinese. Gonna need some skill rolls by someone who can read it...

If Ratchaser is unable to, here's mine:
Japanese/Chinese: 1 4 5 15
I so love this

Limping Jacob
Apr 5 2004, 06:53 AM
You're defaulting to Japanese, yes? If so, you can make out a few of the characters, but you can't really get the gist of the message.
A Clockwork Lime
Apr 5 2004, 06:53 AM
That I am, though you mentioned in a PM they used Japanese symbols (hence the slash).
Limping Jacob
Apr 5 2004, 06:57 AM
Indeed, Japanese uses Chinese symbols - but in a sort of roundabout way. Fluency in Japanese doesn't guarantee you can read Chinese. It's a bit like someone who knows English trying to read French - you recogize quite a bit, but not quite all of it. Actually, a better example might be an English-reader trying to understand something in Russian, which is written with the Cyrillic alphabet - a lot of it looks the same, but you can't really glean the gist of it from just recognizing some of the letters.
Now, maybe if you'd gotten three or four successes instead of one...

Should I roll 4 dice for my Japanese rating or 2 for it's R/W rating?
holychampion
Apr 5 2004, 01:31 PM
Ratchaser wil hand the card back over.
phelious fogg
Apr 5 2004, 08:54 PM
Limping Jacob, I feel sorry for any english sap trying to read russian without some knowledge, the biggest example being the letter p, which sounds like r in russian, the letter y which sounds like oo, x which sounds like kh.. B sounds like v. Basically you have no chance what so ever of undertanding even the cognates without understanding the alphabet.
Изучение русского - не прогулка в парке.

Anyone have improved invisibility or physical mask? Maybe we could shoplift a linguasoft.
A Clockwork Lime
Apr 6 2004, 04:59 PM
I think I've got it covered, and probably for a bit less than what a linguasoft would cost in risk and time.

Just as a note. I do have Physical Mask.

I haven't had cause to post in here for a while.
Is something wrong???
As for getting this guy - what about a camera to take pics of him, dataline tap on what he says, track his every move basically. Maybe plant a tracking signal on him or his belongings?
holychampion
Apr 8 2004, 11:52 PM
I agree with Hunter, we need to find the locale and find a place to whole up for the length of the operation near by. Then find a schedule that this guy may follow, or use a rouse like Nu Fenix said, get this guy to come to us somehow. Maybe we fake a phone call from a loved one. Either way we need more info. and we can't get it at this coffin hotel. Unless Spaz does his biz here before we split up, which in my opinoin would be nice.

You guys are never going to locate the target, since you're all convinced he's a he - when really he's a she.
Omiko is a female name, as I mentioned in the game thread. So that's one bit of information you might be able to use. It would've been a
very long shadowrun if you'd spent the whole time looking for a man named Omiko Taira.
Ask questions if you have them regarding legwork, etc.
Nightcrawler472
Apr 9 2004, 12:03 PM
I suppose advocating we just go in, shoot everyone around her then run like hell wouldn't make me particularly popular then?
Hmm...legwork...ok, so we need to find out
everything about her...where she works, who she knows, where she likes to eat, what kinda security they've got round her, her schedule, and find out about the corp she works for, and any other corps that might be interested in her...and why the Triads are so hell-bent on us not 'retreving' her for KE (or whoever)...so, I say we divvy up what to look for, then just go question all our sources and see what we come up with.
Also, Fenix...in case I don't see you online for a while could you PM Limping Jacob the background you've got for me? My PC's fried again, so I can't really work on them at the moment...but I'll PM Jacob his contacts and modified character sheet (the one you've got's only half-finished, sorry)
Limping Jacob
Apr 11 2004, 06:22 AM
Wheeew, lotta action in the IC thread. Please tell me if you're visiting a contact, etc. so I know to roleplay them. Sometimes I miss things (even when I read carefully), so don't let me accidentally ignore you.
holychampion - Ratchaser notices nothing out of the ordinary after that Perception test.

Not even a dual-natured crow perched in plain sight across the way, staring up at him with a curious expression?
Limping Jacob

Nope, that particular crow was captured by the Snowy Dragon Restaurant and integrated into the General Tso's Chicken that your character ate.

I'm assuming Clockwork declaring his signature is on vibrant display, and for the purpose of moving the session along, was enough for Ratchaser to see and recognize him. I'm also going to assume that the time limit on my lower level and first summond watcher is up, leaving me with one summoned entity in service.

Sorry for the humdrum posting on my part lately. Every time I've come by and saw that we had new posts, it seems it's coincided with me having a splitting headache. I promise I'll start doing better soon. This coincidence thing can't continue for long. At least I hope not!

Apr 16 2004, 05:59 AM
Weeeeell...the original plan for me was to post at 11 or 12 every night, but between school and other whatnot it's been less than consistent. I have managed to post at least once every night, though, so I guess that's a minor success.

I usually check around 7pm (CMT), then again @ 11pm (CMT) and I check right before I go to work in the morning @ 9am (CMT)
