I was curious to find out if anyone had considered the heinous possibilities outlined below:

1: Platelet factory in combination with chemical gland (producing anticoagulant). Reduce damage and no coronoray/cerebral thrombosis for me, thank you very much.

2: Biomonitor, Datajack, Autoinjector (mounted in thoracic cavity, may require a body compartment) with Trauma Patch chemicals.
If the biomonitor detects a flatline lasting longer than x (ie if you start going more than x into Deadly or overflow, whatever floats your boat), the Trauma chemicals are triggered. Long term consequences are unpleasant, but still...

3: A trauma damper in combination with both of the above.

More stupid, and complex, ideas to follow. twirl.gif

Actually, those ideas aren't that stupid smile.gif I don't have M&M yet, but even with the older Shadowtech materials, I forsee the possibility of having "Juicers" in the SR world in the near future. With that No. 2 combo you could also add stims, painkillers/endorphins, adrenaline enhancers, etc etc.

No. 1 might be a bit difficult, depends on how easily an anticoagulant can be naturally produced.

No. 3 might make #2 difficult to activate.

Demosthenes
Well, the rules in M&M for chemical glands are essentially the same as for poison exhalers in Shadowtech - cost for a gland is basically nuyen.gif 30k plus 100 times the basic cost of a dose of the chemical in question.

How the gland delivers the chemical varies, but it would be easy enough, judging from the text of the bioware, to have the gland dump precisely metered quantities of anticoagulant into the bloodstream to compensate for the platelet factories...

As to the Trauma Damper making it more difficult to activate the Biomonitor/Autoinjector(Trauma) combo... I don't think it would.
The TD reduces the amount of shock and trauma suffered by the body due to an injury, so the biomonitor will still accurately reflect the condition of the body, and it should still be able to accurately determine just how screwed you are...

The Biomonitor/Autoinjector combination depends upon some of the rules in M&M - specifically the ability to link separate cyber systems in order to do cool stuff.

The possibilities for interlinking skillwires, tactical computers, and senseware are quite unpleasant. cool.gif

Here's an idea: link a gas spectrometer to an internal air supply, so you can hold your breath for a *long* time when you get gased. This kinda depends on how fast an internal gas spec. would work though (IRL it takes hours to get a good separation, but the app itself is huge too.)

Bioware: (BI 3.7)
Platelet Factories w/chemical gland(anticoagulants)
Trauma Damper
Metabolic Arrester
Orthoskin lvl 3

Cyberware (E 5.0)
Guardian Angel Biomonitor linked to Autoinjector w/Trauma Patch chemicals
Nanite Symbiotes w/Nanite Hive and Facilitator
Gas Spectrometer linked to an Internal Air Tank (or two...)
Titanium Bonelacing

Let's see... did I forget anything? grinbig.gif

If you can afford to make some or all of the cyber beta (or delta?) you can squeeze in a Nephritic Screen (BI 0.4) and maybe a Toxin Exctractor(BI 0.4/lvl)

Make sure you leave room for the router though...

When I took a look at this thread, I thought of a very, very silly combo a few of my friends and I came up with. Check this out:

Take a Cybertorso. Add 2 Cyberguns - machine pistols preferably and if at all possible, modified to FA. TADA! Instant FemBot!! cyber.gif If you wanna make things really disgusting and even sillier, add another MP or worse yet... a Cyber Squirt! Now you have chix with dix!!! eek.gif

With 3 MPs and suppressive fire, you could lay down a wall of lead so thick, no one would dare move through it. LOL

Which brings me to a question: how do you figure out the penalties for firing more than 2 guns?

Here's another one: is it possible to create a character with more than 2 cyberarms? Like Stryker from Cyberforce?
Moonwolf
They're not real cyberarms, but you can mount the "articulated arm" gun mount on things. Like, 1 on the torso, 2 on each (obvious) cyberleg, and 1 on each (obvious) cyberarm. Mount a LMG in each, walking Metal Storm. biggrin.gif

Hey, I'm all for combination 1. I asked about it...a year ago?...here on Dumpshock forums. I'm looking at it for a samurai after I ditch his titanium bonelacing.

The other two look reasonable, too.
Cain
Biomonitor and cyberleg with built-in Medkit. The medkit automatically activates whenever you're wounded, attempting to first aid you immediately. Make it a Savior Medkit for extra goodness. biggrin.gif

But... but... I want real cyberarms! frown.gif

Leach's

But anyway i gave that Combo to a PC in one of my games as a corp favour. Bit heavy on the BI (before the erratta) but it's good, not a lot can say it doesn't work.

Can't see an issue with that either. It's what a DNi controlled Medi kit would do (except that it would use safer drugs). Again game on.
Voran
Heh, that'd be funky if the material component of the gland was an actual leech that they put in a little shell and stick inside you.
Slapstick
Whats wrong with getting the medkit to work without all of the cyber? Just take an external biomonitor, and attatch it to an external SaviorMedkit, with specific instructions about when to say, apply stim patches, and when to start in with the trauma patch. You could also set it up to go for light wounds, since I think a rating 6 Savior has enough dice and a low enough TN to get it done in a small number of combat rounds.

I played in a campaign once where our sam had been re-wired by forces unknown. His new cyberarm was linked to a tactical computer and skill wires. Let's just say that he could not only hit the broad side of a barn but blow it up with a handgun. (The GM made sure that we got plenty of baddies to even that out a bit.)

Wierd thing was, the arm somehow "knew" what what was going on in astral space. Once, it started firing at an apparent bystander who turned out to be a rather nasty vamp that had been following us. I remember laughing my tail off when the GM said, "The submachine gun in your arm runs out of ammo, and is going 'click', 'click', 'click', 'click', 'click', 'click', 'click', 'click', 'click', ..."

And yes, before anyone asks - this was a slightly off / silly campaign - but man was it a blast.
