I finally got to play Shadowrun. 3rd Edition game finally wrapped up.

I feel slightly more complete.

Huzzah!

Also, I'll make you a deal: If I make it to GenCon next year (ack, ptooie), I will, personally, run a game for you. If we can shake Bull and Rusty and a couple others out for the night, I'll get a full flegded gang of 4-6 of you yahoos and run something.

Then you can all point and laugh at how badly I manage it. smile.gif
CanRay
It's not likely I'll be able to make the trip next year. frown.gif

Congrats CanRay, It's about time! How was it?

He didn't find someone to run for him this year, and there would have been people willing. My sympathy for him dropped a lot. nyahnyah.gif

I didn't have an ability to game much this year at GenCon.

In fact, the only game I played in cost me $300 and was already paid for. I wasn't going to miss that. I barely was able to do all the things I was supposed to. frown.gif

A bunch of us offered, in fact! The clock was about to strike midnight, though, and he had to run home or risk turning into a pumpkin or something. Left this weird glass shoe behind, looked like a real pain to walk in, if you ask me...

Glad you got the chance to sling some dice, Ray!

Not a joking matter, Critias, I was not in good shape and you all knew it.

Do I really live in a world where ol' Canny ISN'T a grumpy old man?

Well, considering that I'm only 33.

Grumpy is right, however.

I still cling to the naive hope that I'm the youngest one here, at 20.

It's okay. We're forewarned. Forewarned is forearmed.

When Lofwyr shows his big scaled head, Suddenly: Nukes! ALL the Nukes!

Any we won't have to worry about megacorps. The Shiawase Decision hasn't happened. We should be okay.

Yeah, but if you think that means that Vladimir Putin won't roll an armored column all up in their shit and wreck their faces if they start getting notions of being beyond the government and openly flaunting it, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

A few famous con men did sell the Brooklyn Bridge posing as representatives of the city, saying they could no longer afford it.
Halinn
There's also someone who bought and received London Bridge.

So far, so good. Still learning the system. Excellent GM. Most of the group went with Pre-Fabs while I got to custom-build my own.

Heavy Weapons Troll with Decking Skills. Raised an eyebrow until I picked up the LMG and used it as an assault rifle, then cut through the IC like I had a laser-enhanced nuclear ice breaker. Luckily was backed up by a few folks about the tradition of naming rifles (Which is odd, as I'm almost never backed up by my gun nuttiness.).

dude . . you actually know the Decking Rules? O.O
AND YOU FOUND A GM WHO KNOWS THEM TOO?!?

Also: Props on going with the Heavy Weapons Troll and not Brawler/Robin-Hood.

I WROTE the decking rules for SR2050, of course I know them for SR1 and SR3. (I'm missing the SR2 BBB.).

I'm a little rusty with them as I've only played ONCE, and only know them academically, but I do know them OK.
Stahlseele
showoff ._.
i tried several times getting my head around them . . i gave up after a dozend or so attempts <.<
Critias
For me, the easiest way to wrap my head around the SR4A decking rules (and the same goes for earlier editions, now that I think about it) was to do it. Not to read the book, or even the chapter, cover to cover, but to make myself sit down and say "Okay, fuck it. I'm...I'm logging on, I guess? Okay, how do I log on." And then finding it all, one step at a time, using a sample character or an archetype or whatever. Trying to understand it by reading the rules never, ever, worked for me (which isn't true of most other systems, for some reason, combat, magic, whatever, I always kind of "got it" just by reading over it), the only way I could grok the Matrix stuff was to roll it out.
CanRay
You got it. I pulled out the dice and just did it for fun. All alone. In the dark.

No, no, that's fine, you're all busy and far away and other important things...

You need to get your GM on here.
I need to make him make you go on another run to find the worlds tiniest violin . .

And this is why the matrix mini-game takes forever.
