Well, X-Com IS damn good.

My DoubleTap sniper loves her Plasma Sniper right now.

I'm sure BL2 will be on a Steam sale by the time you have been frustrated by Classic Ironman mode a few times (I skipped that and went with Classic only).

XCOM is pretty buggy, but like ToEE, has potential to be a great, great game, and series even.

Let's hope they go a different direction than ToEE did.

That said, Borderlands is another game that was just awesome and I can see being torn between XCOM and BL2. I just got XCOM first.

Gimme good mod tools and then we get:

ALIENS: Colonial Marines Assault Squad

SPACE HULK - Keeping the Empires derelict spaceships clean from pests.

OPPOSING FORCE - Be the alien commander and free Earth from it's misunderstood violent ways. It's all a misunderstanding, we just wanted to be friends until you slaughtered our scientists in Roswell in the 1950...first contact didn't go to well.

I've played Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas on release day. "Buggy" has new meaning to me. nyahnyah.gif

XCOM is buggy?

I've been consumed by this game since launch and I've yet to find one except for the weird elevation stuff. Do you mean perhaps the often nonsensical Line of Sight/Percentages?

Elevation mapping definitely can get pretty wonky on some maps. That being said, I've had 1 CTD in ~65 hours of playing but that was on somewhere around hour 10 of a continuous alien slaughtering fest. Other than that it's been pretty damn smooth sailing.

I definitely feel your pain on the launch day versions of Fallout3/NV...

I've had menu windows get stuck open, it's a PITA alot of times with elevation and inside of small interiors (like trains), missing with 100 percent chance, etc etc.

Nothing like ToEE buggy or stuff like that. But yea.

And then all the bullshit console port crap, like not being able to name save games.
The Jopp
My main gripe is the completely out of whack camera sensitivity when using grappling hooks and grenades - damn hard to get the right location.

I've had areas at the top of stairs I am literally unable to send troops to. No matter which angle or elevation I used.

To get back to the original topic, I guess Shooty McFace is some kind of SR reference?

I have no idea, but one of the jokes about shadowrun is that Runners shoot people in the face for money so I made that connection.
