The concert violinist who lost her hand in a tragic subway accident was the first recipient of the first proper, full-function cyberhand in Shadowrun.

And she looks great with it!

See, I know these are all very practical devices because the tech is so raw still, but a part of me always feels disappointed that they aren't tricked out in chrome or gunmetal.

We're getting there.

I hope to god we don't end up with white plastic ilimbs... Although if we did, you could install a big red light in it and set it to tag bystanders with its laser pointer.

On the bright side, you got a legitimate reason to use a (sword)cane

Somewhat related. Science that is exploring the brain to machine connections.

No, no I don't. I live in Canada.

They are illegal in lots of states as well (concealed weapons laws). So don't feel too bad.

What's why you paint "Sword Cane" on the side of it, then you can say that you plainly advertised that it was a sword cane and it wasn't "your" fault they . didn't read or believe it, smile.gif

Nope, doesn't work. I can hang a sign saying I have a gun in my pocket. Still considered concealed.
CanRay
Also, I have no sword skills to speak of, and it's my dominant arm that's crippled.
Umidori
Training can solve both of those problems. wink.gif

I wonder, would the cane still be concidered concealed if it were primarily made of plexi-glas or other clear material? smile.gif

Well it's a cyberzombie this time so I think we can deal with it.
CrystalBlue
I'm just wondering about the actual biology of this now. When you attach the limb, you have to be under sedation, I would think. You'd have to connect all of the new limb's connections to the nerves in the arm. But, what about removing it and putting on replacements? Or doing any type of maintenance? Is it plug-and-play, or are you going to be screaming in pain when someone pulls it off, because it's basically ripping the arm out again. Think Full Metal Alchemist every time Ed gets his arm and leg put back on. Fun stuff.

And what about cyberpsychosis? That's going to be a real thing now? Can you just turn off the pain of your new limb? So many questions.

The ACLU (and Quebec) would complain it's not multilingual.

for adding insult to injury, have it written in braille on the actual blade . .
