here's my question, does anyone think that having to figure out the maneuver score every damn turn is worth the hassle, or do you ppreferthe combat system in pre-maneuver score format?

don't like those maneuver scores at all. I've experimented with a couple of different ways to do vehicle stuff. When I expect that the runners are going to be chasing someone, I sometimes will map out the route that the escaping npc will use and indicate mini 'encounters' along the way. (ie: "point A, school children crossing, handling test at +2 to avoid hitting an idling bus. point B, badguy cuts through construction site, off-road handling test, anyone not strapped in quickness (5) test or loses an action.) then I measure (or make up) the distance between locations to figure how the speed and combat turns will turn out.
however, that system is very linear and easy to throw off (What if they decide to go around the construction site, etc.) usually I just throw it all out the window and pull target numbers out of thin air depending on how the situation looks in my head. But then, that's how I do every combat scene, too. I try not to pin down exact ranges, speed, and that kind of stuff unless it becomes necessary.

The DCRS Maneuver Score CalculatorThis makes things faster

Just use the back button to go from the results of one calculation to enter a new vehicle and get their maneuver score. The URL will be changing for that eventually, but when it does you'll still be able to find it from the menu on the main DCRS page at
dcrs.dashifen.com.

does anyone have the older rules on vehicle combat, and if so, would it be possible to post them (i only ask because i assume that since they are technically obsolete, it would not be against any laws.... though if it is, don't post them).

Unfortunately, no. I have only limited experience coding for palm pilots. However, if you have a wireless palm pilot, then it should work for you, because the coding is all server side.
