Whether you're the GM or a player, what's your team like? Thought I'd share my players' characters with you all. Maybe they'll inspire a character in your game as a GM or provide a kickstart to some creative juices if you're looking to build a new one. Here they are:

Flatline

Mid 50's, aging ex-convict Irishman. Also ex-Lone Star detective mage. Used to be a family man; wife, kids, you name it. Had a nice house in Everett. That was until he got a little hot under the collar during the Knight Errant vs. Lone Star bid for Seattle's security contract. Feeling the pressure from his superiors, he succumbed to his rage when his Knight Errant equivalent kept beating his team of officers to the punch at crime scenes. Things escalated a little bit too much and Flatline nuked their team with a fireball spell, killing two of the officers and badly maiming the other two. Once incarcerated, he spent the next five years inside torturing himself; wondering what his kids were doing, how his wife would afford the mortgage, and why he had betrayed the law that he once upheld. Now an escapee, he runs the shadows because that is all that he has left. He is utterly alone, save his fellow runners - his new family.

Corpselight

Also in his 50's, Corpselight is a balding, white-haired Japanese cybertechnologist. He once worked for Mitsuhama until a fellow peer hacked his system and stole some advanced algorithms he had been working on; algorithms that were going to see him get the promotion he was long overdue. When his "friend" won the promotion through ill-gotten means, Corpselight snapped and delved into darkness, plotting revenge on him. Ultimately he murdered him at work with the machinery in the lab, turning the drones against him. He then took out a dozen more scientists and security guards in the process before barely escaping his work facility. Now on the run from MCT, he works the shadows as a cybered (headware, VCR) decker. He is incredibly intelligent, despite allowing his pride and rage get the better of him. He has incredible skills at building and repairing all manner of technology - both electronics, cyberware, and industrial machines.

John the Savage

The only metahuman in the group, John the Savage is an ork adept. A large and imposing figure, with a bushy beard and mane of white and black hair (think Rick Rubin). He prefers to live off of the streets, keeping things simple. In fact, he's built a makeshift home under an unused wooden dock near Puget Sound's shoreline in Everett. His ramshackle home is where he spends his time drinking with his dockworker friend Marko (an ex-smuggler). The two have quite the drinking problem in fact and only run when they spend all of their nuyen. John is an armorer and has hand-crafted a suit of armor made out of junkyard parts, hubcaps, and license plates. He wields a "sword" which looks like a giant meat cleaver (in actuality, the back rotor from a downed Ares chopper). John is a beast in combat, but prefers a gentle zen-like approach to life when life does not necessitate him being one.

Sinder

Barely in her 20's, the young Japanese girl joined the Yakuza thinking it was going to be like the movies. She was wild and reckless and believed that she'd be flying down a Seattle highway on a fast bike with her katana leaving spark trails. The reality of joining the Yaks was that she became a servant to the foot soldiers. She was put in this position to learn her place, to learn respect, and to learn her duty. This wasn't what she envisioned. On a fateful night, she stole out of her quarters with a fellow "servant" and hit the town. After getting hopped up on Kamikaze in a night club, she started a fight with someone who accidentally nudged her too hard on the dance floor. She exploded on the girl and her date, killing both of them with a short sword she was carrying. They fled the scene but not before having their faces caught on camera all around the club. When her superiors discovered this, they branded her face with the kanji symbol for "reckless one" and exiled her from the Yakuza. As a sword adept, she has a place in the shadows - if she can just control her demons within.

Terror Kitten

The youngest of the group, Terror Kitten as he goes by in the Matrix, is a 18-year old Japanese boy. From rich stock, he retreated to the Matrix when his mogul father failed to give him any type of attention - outside of constant scoldings. Constantly compared to the success of his brother, Terror Kitten spent so much time in the Matrix that it wasn't long until the whispers of the Resonance began to beckon him. Soon, he became masterful at seeing the world for what it is - beautiful streams of data to be played with. His father ended up betraying the Yakuza and finding his head separated from his body, as did his mother and brother. When Terror Kitten saw this, it was enough for him to lose all of his faculties. Child services picked him up in his father's study, giggling on the floor in the dark - his family's bodies diced up all around him. He spent a considerable amount of time heavily drugged and sedated until he was released back into the world where he has haphazardly found a place in this team's ranks. He now "plays" in the Matrix for both work and pleasure.
