Our Anomaly is the Remington Suppressor, a machine pistol that comes with an integrated suppressor (Hence the name) and has decent stats (Does damage on par with a low-end heavy pistol in both 4th and 5th edition) for a reasonable price (700 in 5th, 850 in forth. Ironically, that makes it cheaper than an ares predator in 5th but more than twice the price of one in 4th).

The anomaly crops up when we look at availability. In 5th ed it's 6R, which makes it fairly easy to get a hold of for most runners who want a good disposable silenced pistol. In 4th however, it comes in at a whopping 15R, making it unavailable in chargen and harder to lay your hands on than most mid-high end 'ware.

Why is there such a striking difference?

It was just hitting the market in 2072, and hadn't filtered down to the street dealers yet. By 2075, though, the supply chain was well-established.

maybe, but why is there such a massive disconnect between this one and the rest of the weapons listed? I mean, the weapons directly before and after have a 2 point difference in availability between editions, as opposed to the 9 points here.

Huh, this bucks the trend: the Monsoon is cheaper, easier to get and more legal in 4th than in 5th, dropping from 10F and 1,900 in 5th to 8R and 1,100 in 4th.

Because CGL. There are no logical explanations beyond those you can think of yourself.
