Full Version: Question about Shadowrun Returns timelines...

Just curious what timeframe was for Dead Man's Switch and Dragonfall in Shadowrun history is all. The more accurate (down to the day), the better! All I know is sometime in 2054 for both.

I can't get a good handle on if the events actually overlap, or if Dragonfall occurs shortly afterwards...

Well for Dragonfall, I don't know the year off hand, but the date is pretty close to...

Dragonfall plays between the 10th to 18th November 2054 according to Shadowland BBS entries.

Not sure when DMS happens but some BBS entries in Dragonfall talk about the Emerald City Ripper you meet in DMS and were posted at the 24th July 2054. They do not reference the events in DMS so it has to happen after that date.

Most excellent. Thank you. smile.gif

Heck, some of my players played those.

And I wanted to start somewhere soon the U-B arc. How much are they spoiled?

If...

is what you were hoping to keep secret, then I would say the storyline is pretty much spoiled, yes.

Both games take place in 2055, DMS relatively early, DF mid-year. The final credits in DF possibly mention the corporate forces assault on F-Berlin, which takes place in late 2055; DF takes place before that, definitly.

The whole background of the arc is spoiled.

Ok I can still hide a part of it by deciding that the Seattle branch is named "UB-Friendship of Seattle" and only use that name (Friendship of Seattle) all scenario long. But I hope Chicago doesn't belong to that? Or is that one into it too?

After the Dead Man's Switch campaign is over, Jake Armitage makes a reference to "something" going on around Crater Lake, so DMS ends around April 30/May 1, 2054.

Hmm. Could the prophecy "The Calm Lake will boil/burn" in DF also point to Crater Lake?

I have the returns game, and it comes loaded with Dead Man's Switch. How do i get other adventures to work on it?

Dragonfall is an expansion you have to buy.
But you can also download user created campaigns from the Steam Workshop (Button on the center of the library page below the blue Steam Workshop banner). No idea how it works on a Steamless version.

Ok. I have several user created ones, but IDK how to install them. Thanks for the try.

I might buy dragonfall after I get paid though.

You have to subscribe them in the Workshop. Then they are downloaded the next time you start the game (and kept up to date).
When you start a new game you can select them as campaign.

Beware, not everything you see in the workshop are new campaigns. Some things are just graphics resources, etc.

How do you do that?

And thanks for the tip.
