I'm thinking we should look at getting started soon. I don't need character sheets, just basic metatype, gender, name, job description and bare-bones backstory. Details can be hashed out as we go.
Cool, should have background and a char sheet posted later this evening
edit: here they are, let me know if there's anything I've overlooked and need to amend.

Hey Jack, have you checked out the file on this Jacob Griffiths guy? His name's come up in the list of potentials for the long-term deployment we were discussing a few days back. Been with us for the past 6 years.
Whys he standing out? Well his record is interesting there's no doubt about that. Studied physiology at University of Washington then spent 10 years with DocWagon, 5 of those years with one of the HTR units. Certified as a field surgeon and medic, rated in small arms & close combat. From the files we've been able to get hold of his superiors were convinced he was a lifetime asset. They were planning on making him senior shift medic before he left. Well, before he was fired.
Yeah they fired him. Remember that rally bombing in Renton back in '66? All started there. He was right in the middle of it when the second one hit. His team had come in to pull out a client, one of the speakers, a few minutes after the first explosion. They'd got the guy stabilised then Griffiths split off to help a nearby kid that'd been injured. Non contract holder. He patches her up as best he could and was carrying her back towards the team when the second bomb went up right behind him.
I checked. It made fantastic advertising for DocWagon. Plenty of media coverage so all the channels caught it. They must've made millions in new subscriptions off that night. "Our doctors are willing to die for you" and all that drek. Didn't do him much good whilst he was in hospital though. Massive spinal damage, left arm severed just below the elbow and most of the muscle blown off his arms and legs. His employee insurance covered the 'ware to repair the damage fairly quickly but he spent 6 months off work recuperating. In the eleven months following his return he was cited three times for providing medical care to non contract holders who'd been caught up in emergencies. They had to let him go after that. "Misuse of company property" they called it. Glowing recommendation from his team leader though. Recruitment picked him up a few months later.
We've had him running with various security details as an embedded medic. Seemed to be about the best place we could find for him. It paid off – there're at least half a dozen of ours who wouldn't be here today if not for him. What do you think? Give him a shot? No there're no next-of-kin or family issues we need to be aware of. Just him.
Ok I'll get HR to set up a meeting. Let's see how he does...
