Just because we know when Abbadon the Despoiler expanded the borders for Chaos for the first time since the Horus Heresy, (999M41) does not mean we are attached to our canon.

I have a private observance on the day, because my family does a big Xmas celebrastino complete with my jewish in laws and I cook for that. on the 21st I'll be at work, tlaknig to people about their investments- wouldn't it be grerat if there's reports of a Dragon sighting during the day "Well mrs MacDonald I'd like to talk to you know about a small mexican company that not a lot of people have heard of yet...."

No they didn't. It has always been 2011. Probably because the authors based it on a book on the Mayas where the date was wrong (it was fixed in a later edition).

Anyway, this is the date given by Ehran the Scribe in his talk to the Y.E.T, but that talk is full of mistakes.

Reminder: The Awakening happened LAST YEAR. Since the 1st edition, the Awakening has always been in December 2011. It has not been retconed since then.

It looks like if anyone Awakened he just cast a massive Influence spell over the whole world (restricted to Shadowrun Players) to make people remember that it was 2012.
