So...our two campaign "A New Horizon" and "Long Island Iced" stopped because one of the players/GM had to relax as his PTSD was flaring up...he has done a lot of tours in Afghanistan/Iraq.

We merged the two campaign into a new one: "Copenhagen Dreaming". I wrote the Denmark-bits for Shadow Of Europe, so the new campaign is set in Copenhagen with me as the GM.

So far we've played once and came of to a great start. And this created lot of interesting ideas & questions, so here you go:

New organizations in SR:
The Mages Guild - a international open source online "makerspace" for awakened characters.

Ordos Mundane - a international political group focus on controlling or eliminating awakened phenomenons through political means - they probably have a terrorist wing as well.

Questions:

Does the pen & paper roleplaying game Shadowrun exist in the Shadowrun universe?

Does Facebook? or something like it?

Why haven't someone made a camera that can film the astral? I mean, how hard can it be? and much money can make of such a device? (Ah okay, Quicksilver camera in Street Grimoire p215). We can do better then that.

Can a spirit use a gun? a bomb? Can it be used as a suicide bomber? what happens if a spirit materializes inside an inanimate object?

Magic Bullets:
Imagine if I took a hollow bullet, filled it up with FAB II (the dualnatured type) & food for the FAB II, closed it and shot at the astral body of a mage? what would happen to him when an astrally active substance made contact with his astral body at 3,250 fps/990 m/s?

considering the setting, an RPG probably does exist, but may be based off shows like Karl Kombatmage.

social media definitely exists, but not in any form we currently have. the matrix did crash twice, after all.

astral cameras are a logistics problem, and probably cost prohibitive... also its a game balance issue.

i would think a materialized spirt of man could.... but other spirit types probably cant. the rest just could try the 'accident' power.

and... magic bullets sound like a bad idea for many many many reasons. such as not being able to see where YOUR teams spirits are....

Indeed. I was thinking something along the lines of a bound spirit, that looked astrally and used an illusion spell to project an image in front of a digital camera.

Besides, mages are overpowered. They need to be brought down.

.

Not if you have a set of googles that makes it possible for you to see astrally wink.gif

And we are two dumb ideas from sentry guns with FAB II bullets that can see astrally.

Answer on the magic bullet is 'nothing'. Astral forms repel. Otherwise anyone dual natured and riding in a car would be taking hits to the face at 100 kph all day every day.

Hence it is a bit handwaved.

1 Facebook exists as MeFeed or the Pito network. Not sure who runs MeFeed but Pito is a Horizon network. Plenty of Los Angeles runners use it to boost their popularity. Yeah, popularity is import for LA runners. Why? Cuz it's LA of course. Any other runner with half a brain stays the hell away from it.
2 Astral cameras do exist, at least in 4th ed. You can find them on pg 67 of Arsenal.
3 Certain spirit types can not only use a gun, they can be frighteningly good with them. The Guardian spirit type, for example can have a firearm (Pistols or Long arms or Automatics) skill equal to its force as an optional power.
A spirit could be used as a suicide bomber but the magician should be prepared to pay the price for abusing his spirits in that manner. Bound and summoned spirits are unlikely to willingly do that sort of thing. A free spirit could choose to do so but it would need a pretty good reason to end it potentially immortal life for a cause.
A spirit materializing in an inanimate object is either going to destroy the object or itself, depending on the relative strength of the two. Generally they won't do this willingly either.

Why have the spirit need to suicide?

If it is the spirit's choice, then maybe they would as likely as a human. If the idea is to use spirits as a mode of delivery, then why not have them get in position, and activate a delayed timer that allows time to remove their self to another plane.

That's a personal opinion that not all agree with
