What does everyone think of this for the Model 2077 of the Ford Mustang?

Handling/Off-Road: 5/3
Speed: 6
Acceleration: 4
Body: 12
Armor: 7
Pilot: 1
Sensor: 2
Seats: 4
Data Processing: 1
Firewall: 1
Device Rating: 1
Initiative: 2+4D6
Availability: 8
Cost: 34,500¥

It shouldn't be better than the Eurocar Westwind, which is supposed to be something like a Porsche or Ferrari. So drop the body, acceleration and speed a bit, bump up the pilot and sensors and drop the price the some. Shoot for something between the Shin Hyung and the Westwind.

Mustang is basically an affordable muscle car...or so I've heard.

I'm guessing that you want something akin to a msuclecar, not the fancy luxury version? If so:

Handling 4/2 is standard, 5/3 if you want it popping.
Speed 6 is fine for a production vehicle (That's around 120 MPH top speed)
Accel should be either around a third of yoru speed if sluggish or half if jumpy. Muscles should be jumpy, so I'd say a 3.
Body 12 is about right for this siz car, and I'd go with armor 6 for a civvie ride.
Pilot is a tricky one. If a modern electric-style car, Pilot 2 (And sensor 2) is a standard-issue pilot. You could go 3 if it's a fancy car, or 1 (or even 0!) if it's a pure gas-burning "Road rebel" type that eschews GridGuide and is made for 'real' drivers, a small market that lavishes money on things.

If electric, keep it around 40K, if gas-burning, you'll want to up it to around 60K... it's vanity money. (But on the up side, no advanced electronics or GrideGuide means *much* harder to trace.)

In previous editions the Mustang was a variant of the Nissan-GM 3220. I don't know if those are still statted in the edition you are using.

Taking some of the suggestons from the thread I've adjusted it to this:
Handling/Off-Road: 5/2
Speed: 6
Acceleration: 3
Body: 12
Armor: 6
Pilot: 1
Sensor: 1
Seats: 4
Data Processing: 1
Firewall: 1
Device Rating: 1
Initiative: 2+4D6
Availability: 10
Cost: 37,500¥

I raised the cost a bit and decreased the offroad handling and acceleration. I brought the pilot and sensors down, the kind of people who want to drive this car usually want to do it themselves.

Comparing the Ford Mustang (similar model Honda 3220, as per Rigger 3, up to the Honda-GM 3220 of SR4's Used Car Lot) SR4's stats to the Hyundai Shin-Hyung SR4's stats nets a very similar vehicle.

In SR5 stats, basing off the Hyundai Shin-Hyung, I'd think a 4/2 handling would be appropriate (the Mustang had -1 and the Shin-Hyung had +2 in SR4 stats), and Body 10 to match (both were Body 10 previously, so I feel should still be equal); Armor 6 I feel is also fine. A Sensor, Pilot, & Device Rating of 1 are good to represent the age of this vehicle, as are a Speed 6 and Acceleration 3 as this is what the Shin-Hyung has for those abstract stats.

Cost and availability is a bit more iffy. What you have listed there I might go for as a Mustang that's close to showroom new. Something that someone's been driving around for the last twenty years but still well maintained would probably be closer to Availability 5 and cost ¥15,000, but that's just me. It's your game.

Looks great!

As for used cars, until rules come out (Gee, wonder where those might wind up?), my suggestion is to figure out some kinds of 'problems' and give them a karma cost, reducing the car's price by 1K per Karma (and availability to match) ... show that 'abused' leads to 'used'. biggrin.gif

This lets you get a cheaper car, but, it's gonna have some 'character', from an engine that's spotty to needing new tires to "That weird pinging sound that nobody can figure out but doesn't SEEM to be bad ... sofar.'

Off the top of my head?

NEGATIVE QUALITIES
1 karma - Bad Paint Job. You want to drive around in *that*?! Gives 1 automatic success to any roll to visual Perception or memory tests to know it.
1 Karma - Bald tires. You need a new rubber all around/jets need cleaning/airfoils need help. -1 Handling until repaired.
1 Karma - Dinged up. The car's been bumped hard, but you can hammer it out over an afternoon or two. The vehicle has 3 Physical damage.
1 Karma - Transmission issues. Lower the vehicle's Acceleration by 1 until repaired.
1 Karma - Engine stress. Lower the vehicle's top speed by 1 until repaired.
1 Karma - Electronics are FRAGGED, Omae! Reduce the vehicle's Pilot and Sensors by 1 until repaired. May not be Rigged until repaired.

(One third of the vehicle's values) - TOTALLED. Reduced Body by half. Reduce Armor by 3. Reduce Handling and Acceleration by 1 each. Reduce Speed by 2. These reductions may not be repaired.

Tons more that you can do of course. The main thing is that if you get an initial pricebreak on the ride, you should pay twice as much to get it up to snuff. Short term gain = long term pain. biggrin.gif

Sounds like so much fun.

What about "1 Karma - Manual Transmission"? Rigging not possible, and furthermore can only be driven if someone has the Manual Transmission Driving knowledge skill. smile.gif
