Oh, hey, quick idea: if we've got so many magic guys here, why don't we just have all of 'em start their own group? As we're shadowrunners, it should be something completely innocuous-sounding, like "The Group." What it's built around would require each character's input, so that should definately be held off until the characters are chosen. |
I already wrote one into my characters backstory but i suppose I could write it out of it since this would be a bit easier.

Jake is in the same boat at Joker--but I could back it out and join the group...I would say then that any of the magic people in the group would need a little bit more history than one run with each other, but that can all be worked out by whomever Fenris decides is in.

For what it's worth, I'm not writing a character background with any sort of depth until it's requested. I'm under the impression that we're supposed to have concepts but nothing more. If I'm wrong, please let me know and I'll get to work on the other.

Im throwing my rigger-girl into the ring.
Lil' Moe
Dwarf Rigger and Club Fanatic. She's got a few good rides and a few good drones and will probably have some more drones after the karma/cash infusion.
Brit girl very street level who's a car klepto and likes to wear pants big enough for catholic familys to hold their reunions underneath.
Preferrably, she'd know Iblis since they share an interest in the club scene and obnoxiously cute styles.
Medesha
May 16 2004, 08:28 PM
Steel Lotus would be very interested in working with a rigger. She has a fascination with speed, particularly motorcycles, though she has no rigger ability herself. She also likes working with mages, as their talents complement her own nicely. She likes working with people who can do things she can't - it makes their chance of success that much more likely.

So, do you have who you want, or should I spend the time writing up an extended background for Lee Hides-In-Trees, the B&E expert? I'd really like into a game that keeps going past the first encounter

I've got enough of a concept to make my decision. I'll give everyone till midnight tonight to finish submissions, but I think everyone that's going to toss in has done so. Post will be up tonight.

w00t! Double post.
The Striding the Soul's Edge team is as follows:
Medesha: Steel Lotus - Street Sam
Buddha72: Iblis - Decker
Eyeless Blonde: Phase - B&E Adept
Blitz: Moe - Rigger
McQuillian: Jake - Combat Shaman
Shadow/Creche: Dual team
Number_6: Tsuru - Street Sam
Trails of Reflection team: (These are characters I've selected for a second game, same setting and situation as the first, but seperate, called Trails of Reflection, running simultaneously with the first game):
CardboardArmor: Countdown - Pistol Adept
Tisoz: Tolkien Jones - Full Shaman
TheSpoonyBard: Jamais vu-B&E specialist
TinkerGnome: Raton - Decker
Paul Harkonen: Irving - Troll meat wall
Nikoli: Kanesa - Pistol-Sam
Bearclaw: Racoon Shaman B&E specialist.
Blakkie: Pez - Horse Shaman/rigger
I want a full character sheet, in the html or xml format from NSRCG, emailed to the address in my profile. Subject should have the name of the respective game your in, as well as the name of your character. (i.e., Striding the Soul's Edge - Steel Lotus). Please keep all of the guidelines I've listed out above in mind. Background's must accompany characters, and this is the full and complete background, including information about when and how your background intertwines with at least one other party member (more detailed then, 'We did a run', please) and the information that the group decides on for the run you did, as a group, previous to this one. As mentioned, karma may or may not be awarded for how enjoyable it is for me to read your backgrounds.
Deadline is Friday, midnight. Anyone that doesn't have a complete character and background to me by then will be booted and replaced.
OOC Threads for both games, with copies of the guidelines I've previously established, will be active by Saturday.
Congratualtions, Gentlemen and Ladies...Welcome to my world.

Okay, let's start the twined backgrounds a' rolling. Anyone else in Trials want to pair with a decker from the streets with some shadow experience? PMs aren't the best form of communication, but you can get me at tinkergnome <at> comcast.net
Right now, there are some problems with the way NSRCG handles spending karma which are going to make a complete character sheet that way a challenge.
CardboardArmor
May 18 2004, 12:50 PM
Hey Tinker, I'd be interested into buying into a background with you. Drop me a line over PM's. I'd send you an e-mail, but I can't access my accounts right now.
Nikoli
May 18 2004, 12:57 PM
Tinker, I think a former company pistol sam and a decker from the streets might do well together. Shoot an email to nik-224<at>comcast.net or my AIM listed in my profile.
Cardboard, since we're both pistoleers how about a friendly on-going competition between us, ala Gimli and Legolas?
Lemme know what you think.

That'd work, Nikoli. Hash out the details and shoot them over PM, we'll work it out.

I can work with the Background for either the decker or full shaman, works really well with my character design. I'll drop a message to both of you and work it out that way.

How 'bout we start a thread called Trails of Reflection background OOC?
I've got a basic story for Lee's background, but I haven't worked out the details yet, so I'd be glad to work into anyone elses story.
PS, there's 4 of us magical types, so we should definately form a magical group.

Hey Shadow/Creche can you guys post your bkgd on the boards or PM it to the other people on your team. I'm trying to develop a collection of all the bkgds so we can weave ourselves together more easily.
Thanks!

I'm all for it, Bearclaw. When I get a little less busy this afternoon, I'm going to throw up about 1000 words worth of background and some hooks where other people would fit in with him.
Eyeless Blond
May 18 2004, 03:46 PM
Heh, thought I was doing that.
Quick question: how many points in BeCKS are we allowed? (Edit:) Since BeCKS was tested and showed around 425 Karma ~= 123BP, maybe 430-435 would work?

Medesha - NSRCG makes them when you go to print a character. I am not terribly computer savvy but someone here should be able to point you in the right direction or bug
Fenris directly. But if you look on the forum, search the phrase, you should find a link to the site and download the generator. Make sure you set the opitions to reflect the guidelines that have been set. You can do most of the charcater in the generator, even buying the extra karma. The only thing it won't really cover is custom gear. Hope that helps.

Thank you!
I PMed Eyeless with my background, so I don't know if I should post it here or not. But I will say I'm terribly new at Shadowrun, so please bear with me if I say stupid things occasionally. Fenris convinced me to try Shadowrun one last time, after two horrific attempts to play it in my past, and I had so much fun I'm attempting this online game. I hope you guys don't mind if I'm a little slow sometimes and need your help. I'll try my best to "keep up".

1st and last strike, Beast. If you troll like that in my game again, you're out.
Shadow and Crechebaby have to drop out, so I have two spaces open. I'm giving first shot at those two spaces to Panzer and Joker. I need a B&E specialist and a tank. No requirements besides that. You'll have to work out between the two of you who plays what. Characters are still due by Friday.

Because of a busy schedule, I don't think i'll be able to add much until thursday. Just FYI Tsutu is an adept who follows the traditions of the samurai. He's a japanese immigrant, but I don't have too many books so I dunno what canon history is.

Nikoli--I think Number 6 is on the other team. If I read Fenris' post correctly, the Reflection team is separate from the Striding team.
We will effectively be running in concurrent parallel realities, which is enough to bend my mind out of shape just thinking about...

Ok so is my elven conjurer out?
EDIT: sorry i haevnt been paying attention to this board cause i saw i was out of the first pick. and plus battlefield 1942 has been taking up way to much of my free time
.
P.S. Since breaking and entering epecalistist are new to me I think ill just go with a good old fashioned troll im debating physad or cyber. Ill mess around witht he two and get back to you. Also how long a background would you like?
BishopMcQ
May 19 2004, 02:47 PM
Joker--Yeah, I think the Conjurer is out and you have to pick from either B/E or Muscle.
Panzer/Joker--If both of you switch over to the background board for Striding the Souls Edge, you can see the bkgds being thrown around and start making tie-ins with the rest of the team
Edit: Joker, we already have a cyber ninja-melee specialist, and a phys-ad samurai...some big gun action might be useful.

Ah, man, I hate to do this, but I'm gonna have to bow out. I just found out about something a few minutes ago that is going to pretty much take over my life for the next month or more, and I won't have the free time to spend on this, or just about anything else for that matter. Sorry for flaking guys.

Hey, sorry if I offended you Fenris. Panzer and I just like to kid each other around. Incidentaly, I had forgotten that I also tried to get into this run myself, so it looks like I am, in fact, the odd man out. I think I'll go eat some crow.

Oh, and you still haven't answered my earlier question. Will the two runs be related, such that we should refrain from following the one we aren't in?
Fenris

Feel free to follow whatever you like. I trust you to keep player and character knowledge seperate, until you give me a reason not to.

I just realized that the armor spec out for my stealth suit is 1 point higher than my quickness allows (I had originally designed him around an 11 quickness) so swap the camo clothing out for Rapid transit Heavy jumpsuit and helmet, (same price total) and swap the long coat for an armored jacket + 2 more chemical sealing and drop 2 points of thermal dampening to cover the difference.
That should fall into my armor maxes without combat pool penalty
for a total of
8/9 armor with 6 points of themral dampening and 8 points of chemical sealant. (base 5/1.5 + 1/4 + 2/.5 + 0/+2 + 0/+1)
Also, there are 10 gel power packs that didn't make it on...
Damn my eyes...
