Full Version: Alternate rules
Dumpshock Forums > Discussion > Shadowrun
Serbitar
Some time ago I posted my alternate rules.

Why this is exciting: Not pen and paper, but tablet and smartphone. Your character is saved in a web page and you push buttons for skill tests. This allows for some complicated behind the scenes rules to calculate various things. The frontend itself should be even simpler as a standard pen and paper rule set.
It also includes a complete re-balancing of various aspects of Shadowrun accordingt to some basic principles.

I made some youtube screen casts to save you the time of creating an account on the web page and showcase some abilities of the system as well as introduce the philosophy.
BEWARE: I am not a native speaker and my English is quite bad.

Very short introduction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k60xcB452vA
Web-Page introduction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tx5HcqpExKY
Philosophy introduction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMfmtahvwVE

At the moment the rule system is used in our group, but it is still beta and maybe only usable by me as a game master. However, I am very interested in feedback (something which is hard to come by).

Haven't had time to look at the actual rules, but I think the presentation as hyperlinked documents instead of (sequential) text is a great idea smile.gif

Reading the section on gaussian die, how can the standard deviation be 0? That can only happen if the only possible result is equal to the mean.

Is there a way to download the rules?

It's nice to have a wiki page, but I've run into problems with connecting to pages.
