Ok, I, the great and omnipotent Voorhees, have decided to run a game, seeing as how I feel sudden bursts of creativity every so often.
Ok, so the game, it takes place in Seattle. Make characters however you want- Priority, Sum to Ten, BP (120 points). Oh, no BeCKs. I'm not really familiar with it. Make whatever the hell kind of character you want, Decker, Rigger, Sam, Zombie Demon from Outer Space, its all good. No SURGE, seeing as how I don't have the book it's in. No Otaku, cause I don't have Target: Matrix...and no Initiating...You know what? I have the following books: BBB, CC, M&M, SoNA, Target: Wastelands, and SRComp. So just...use stuff from those books. And those books only. For great justice.
Details of the game will come later, after interest is expressed.

Hmm... interest is easy to get, well thought out characters is generally another matter.
I might be interested in playing a troll of some sort, probably a physad, but maybe a mage. I'll give it some thought

Oh yeah, um, when you make characters, backgrounds are nice. Semi-necessary, too. Yeah, like I said: Make whatever character you want, within my limits. Really. It's all good.

Dibs on the
Zombie Demon from Outer Space.
You'll need to send me the rules for chargen though.
A little more seriously, what availability, rating caps? Cultured bioware? Max number of edges? Flaws? Max points of edge/flaw?
Beast of Revolutions

I'll draw up a street sam character.

8, 8, Sure, why not?, 4/4, 8/8.

We can have skills at rating 8? I'd like to play, but I'm not sure what kind of character. Since you don't have Rigger 3, does that mean no custom drones and vehicles? And if you don't have Magic in the Shadows, does that mean no geasa or watcher spirits?

I would be interested in trying to play Stitch (my shamanic sorcerer healer who is proficient in both magical and mundane healing) again. I would just have to re-work him to get rid of the MITS stuff (change his Totem and some spells, lose the initiation, and I would probably change his foci a bit, too).

I really want to play a chemed-up face character with a good deal of money, lots of luxeries...and a couple of skeleton-in-the-closet addictions.
How do you feel about customized weapons?
lodestar
May 29 2004, 05:53 PM
Could we get a little background on it? Just so a person can come up with a background.
Fresno Bob
May 29 2004, 07:57 PM
Right-o, old chaps. Let me go a little in depth on the game.
Background, just suppose all the runners know each other. Takes place in Seattle in 2060, so no SURGE. It'll be Thursday, March 4, 2060, to be exact.
Customised vehicles are ok, because I have access to Rigger 3, despite not having it. Vehicles from R3 are fine, too. Just give me the stats.
As for customised weapons, if you want to put stuff from the Cannon Companion onto a gun, sure. If you want to make a totally new gun used only by you...you'd better have a damn good reason.
I use Raygun's caliber and firearm rules, so if you want a 9mm 7M pistol, give it a name and a fitting magazine size, and go for it.
The jobs that the runners will be performing will be a little strange, and weird things will happen to them. And I don't really have a central storyline planned, so expect some filler jobs while I think something up.
Send all characters to psychomantisia@hotmail.com
And I'd prefer it if you made characters for this game. For I am a jealous GM, and ye shall have no GMs before me.

I'm in!! Probably a light sam/merc or a combat mage.
Gimme a deadline, dude. Its a long weekend and I won't crunch numbers unless you tell me to.
A man's gotta get his drink on, right?
TinkerGnome
May 30 2004, 12:46 AM
Okay... the troll isn't working out for me. Instead, I'll probably go with a human weapon specialist or elven face.
Panzergeist
May 30 2004, 01:16 AM
How many people will you be accepting? As the rigger, I'll need to know how many passengers I'll have.

No, actually I don't mind.

Stitch and Reth look pretty good. And now I hope some non-mages get sent. Maybe at least someone who can fire a gun.
TinkerGnome
May 30 2004, 04:32 AM
Sending you a rough draft. Definitely mundane.
Panzergeist
May 30 2004, 06:37 AM
Oh, my character can fire a gun alright. I'm just having trouble drawing up the character sheet in the dark. The damn lights in the computer room aren't on.

Character Sent Named Zeke
Fresno Bob
May 30 2004, 07:23 PM
Two things about Zeke-
He seems to have more flaw than edge points
and Could you send him as a Text attachment?
TinkerGnome
May 30 2004, 08:56 PM
Read .doc attachments okay?
Ditaki
May 30 2004, 10:06 PM
You know guys, it sounded fun, but I'm just not feeling it now...Consider me out of the game.
Noctum
May 30 2004, 10:56 PM
No Problem will fix Zeke and send as a Text Doc
Fresno Bob
May 31 2004, 03:01 AM
.doc is fine.
Ditaki, which character did you send?
Ditaki
May 31 2004, 03:20 AM
I didn't send one. I was considering a Face, but never made it.
Leowulf
May 31 2004, 03:46 AM
I'll send you a character. He is part mage, part samurai.
Q: How did you manage that?
A: Used betaware and cultured bioware.
Q: Doesn't that lower his magic rating?
A: Yes. To 4.
Q: Can your character fire a gun?
A: Yes. He can fight hand-to-hand too, bitch!
Ignore the Enchanting Library. It's from Magic in the Shadows, which you said you don't have. In fact, I think I'll get rid of it and work in some more cyberware. I have .5 essence to play with before his magic rating goes to 3. I can fit something there.

I don't know Raygun's rules. Hear he has weapon and armor rules, but have never looked at them/have no desire to use them.
If it changes the game, count me out. Was looking forward to playing my 4 cyberlimb character with phobia to monowhips and incompetance with whips character.

Doesn't change the game, really. Just assigns calibers to guns so theres no "All heavy pistols use the same ammo" crap. And theres some business about overpenetration of rifles, but thats about it.
One more thing: I just remembered that I have the Sprawl Survival Guide. So you could use stuff from that.

Hmm, you may have a point. It would ruin my reputation to play with such rabble. Thanks anyways, Voor.

I was going to submit a rigger if you can handle two, but if not I was going to submit a sort of a special ops/burglar character, possibly a physad. Any preference?
Fresno Bob
May 31 2004, 07:50 PM
You can submit the rigger. Not every character submitted will be accepted.
TinkerGnome
May 31 2004, 09:11 PM
On the Raygun stuff, are you just going to use the calibres or do you plan to use the damage by calibre advanced rules and the special ammo types, as well? Silencer/supressor rules?
Fresno Bob
May 31 2004, 11:15 PM
Pretty much just the calibers.
