Do bonus dice from things like Totems, power foci, and Ally aid power, get to be used for the channeling test and then again for the drain test when the channeling has ended?

I have not been in a game long enough to gain the power (since it came out) to actually do any channeling, but assumed channeling/drain were linked. I wondered if anyone played it this way or if I was way off.

It came up in a game and was ruled they refreshed between the channeling and drain tests. (No Problem) Now in these cases the channeling was successful, so time had passed. If you go with the refresh view, do they refresh if the channeling test fails? That would mean the drain test follows immediately.

totem modifiers is questionable on the channeling and drain test. If it's an actual summoning test then yes, but I'm, not sure that it is. Power foci and aid power cannot be used for summoning at all, that would be a spirit focus.

Power Foci most certainly do work with Conjuring, and Aid Power works with any Magical Skill. Totemic modifiers are likewise used since the Channeling Test is a use of Conjuring.

A failed Channeling Test results in nothing happening -- not even a Drain Resistance Test. The Drain Resistance Test only occurs at the end of a successful Channeling Test, either when the duration ends or the magician voluntarily ends it prematurely, and is completely seperate from the Channeling Test (unlike normal uses of Conjuring).

The act of making the Channeling Test is an Exclusive Complex Action. Once channeled, the gestalt is maintained for ten minutes per success achieved on the test. Once the channeling comes to an end, the spirit departs and the strain of the seperation is reflected in a Drain Resistance Test.

A power focus is the most flexible, and the most powerful, of foci. It increases the owner's Magic Attribute by its own Force for purposes of determining whether or not Drain does stun or physical and stun damage, as well as for determining the maximum spirit Force that can be summoned. You may also use a power focus's Force dice for Sorcery, Conjuring, or Drain Resistance Tests. Power foci dice may be used for Spell Defense. These bonus dice may be divided up among the owner's tests each Combat Turn as desired.
