I'm definately no expert here, but I was under the impression that if you brought something metallic through a metal detector, like at airport or expo security, you would be caught no matter how concealed that gun or knife is.

So MADs making a test against your gun's conceal seems a bit odd to me. In the real world, would smuggling weapons even be possible through a detector, or are those at airports and so on really high rating archetectural MADs?

The scanner is configured for a certain level of EM disturbance. Set the number to be really observant, and you get it set off by the metallic content of the person walking through. Set it to the other extreme and a guy can walk through with a machete in hand and it won't react.

Concealability is used to avoid tossing in another stat for the gear that signifies the EM responsiveness of the item. The non-metal construction design option makes it harder to detect a weapon with MAD systems. There are ways to sneak metal objects through current scanners, but I'd rather not be associated with the spread of that information.

What HoV said. There are a lot of factors in the detection of metallic items by MADs. Suffice it to say that I'm also not going to be spreading those around for professional reasons
