I am creating an undercover cybersnoop and ran into a couple of issues.
I want to link a transducer to my headware memory for narratives. The question is does the transducer use my voice or is it digitized?
also can i use a cyberdeck as a standard computer? They are cheaper in the long run.
Can i use the offline storage packs listed under cyberdecks as an "external harddrive" for my headware memory?
Is there video editing software listed anywhere?
What skills are appropriate? I have interrogation (verbal), Performance(Reporting), Stealth(Sneaking), Journalism, and Negotiation(Bribery).
Thanks in advance

Sure - a cyberdeck is, for all practical purposes, a glorified laptop with some extras tossed in.
Offline memory - as long as it's cybernetic memory, sure.
Video editing - maybe in "Shadowbeat", but I don't know of anywhere else it could be. You may have to just fake it - or create a new skill and rules your GM can live with.
Suggested skills:
Active
Negotiations is so all-encompassing I wouldn't specialize.
Knowledge skills that might help:
Psychology
Body language
Journalism
Corporate Politics
Police Procedures
Underworld politics
The Law
Government Politics
Acting
-Basically, knowledge skills that provide a greater depth to what the reporter is likely to be covering.

I would also add
Any Area Knowledge skill
Organized Crime
Security Systems or Security Proceedures

According to Shadowbeat, cooking up fake trid shots is done with either Computers or Portacam skill, though unless you're using all of Shadowbeat's rules and tests for reporting you'll need to come up with your own way of handling the test itself.

I think he means general video editing rather than an attempt at forgery.
So either: Active Skill: Photography (Trid Cam)
or
Knowledge skill: Photography (Trid Cam)
Of course, which one you choose will depend on your GM and his (or her) interpretation of the skill distinctions.
You may get lucky and not have to burn Active skill points.

There isnt an official ruling on this as far as I know, but I've always allowed players to *choose* the voice of the transducer for their character. It shouldn't be hard to make that happen, and voice patterns could even be swapped out from headware memory, if you were so inclined.

I bought a portacam for the character bit its just for show.
The real camera is in his alpha grade eyes.
I figured with the eyes and the ears I'd split the space in my headware memory
1 minute video = 1mp
1 minute audio = 1mp
I'll have to revamp his skills to take into account the skill suggestions
Thanks all
