Wraith is all bussiness. "What do you have as far as initial scematics of the facility?"

A series of external surveillance stills flash onto the trideo screen, replacing the overhead shots of the missile convoy.
"The AIS compound in Everett is a stand alone building in an Ares corporate office park. The four above ground floors are dedicated to administration, operation, and design. Below ground are three dedicated laboratory floors, which is where all of the research, development, and evaluation takes place. The building security focuses mostly on denial of entry, with heavy camera surveillance and entrance chokepoints. My information indicates that the security system is computer controlled, and is not a CCSS."

The smoothness of Rakovic's answer indicates he was waiting for something like this.
"I'm sorry, my employers have not authorized me to release any additional funds other than what was specified. However, I can offer to assit in acquiring any specialty items you might require to help acheive success on this mission."

"Hmm...so basicly you want us to get information on a missle out of a secure facility...basic enough. Getting the missle out...now there's a kicker. Just what is the scale of this missle? Vehicle mounted or to be carried by man?"
grendel
Oct 26 2004, 12:40 AM
"The missile's dimsensions are 18 centimeters in diameter by 1.8 meters long, weighing about 50 kilograms, according to our intelligence sources."

"Not quite requiring a vehicle, but not exactly man portable. I'll do it"
Shadow's response is fairly quick but in slightly broken english.

"For a top-secret project, you sure seem to know a helluva lot about it," Skee interjects. "What gives? You got an insider? Maybe someone who can give us a hand with getting in?"
grendel
Oct 26 2004, 01:46 AM
Rakovic smiles.
"All of the information I have provided has been derived from surveillance photographs and other sources of signals intelligence. If my employers had someone on the inside, we would not need to resort to this measure."

Sif listened intently to the exchange going on between Rakovic and the rest of the team, smirking as if enjoying a private joke. She didn't recognize any of the others who had been called in for this job, but there was time for that later.
"You said matrix security is tight," Sif interjected, "What is the system benchmarking at? Are the facility's security controls on a seperate system, or on another part of the system that doesn't have the same level of security? I don't forsee any difficulty either way, but it'd be nice not to have to waste my time with a system analysis."
She paused, waiting for the answers, but obviously ready with a few more questions once Rakovic had a chance to speak.

"Is there any jamming going on over the airways at the base, or is it pretty standard traffic? What about iconography, and are there other deckers?" Sif rattled off a few more questions. "When I get your data for you, what kind of decking gear do you have access to for my payment, since hardware is an option and how much extra can we expect if we take said hardware instead?"
grendel
Oct 26 2004, 06:52 AM
"I have no data regarding those requests. As for gear, I'll have an answer as soon as I know what it is you're requesting. And there will only be a 10% fee unless the items are not returned, in which case the full price will be deducted."

"I'm in" Shrines says. "Do you have any information on the facility's magical security features, and the numbers and locations of any security personnel?"
Spookymonster
Oct 26 2004, 01:05 PM
"We'll need those maps and images loaded on a couple chips for future reference," Skee says. "As for gear, a knowsoft loaded with an analysis of Ares corporate politics and another loaded with their security procedures would come in right handy."
Skee eased back in his chair as his left hand fished for the remote to his skillsoft jukebox.
grendel
Oct 26 2004, 02:58 PM
"The

100,000 still stands if you recover the missile prototype, but other than that, no. As for magical security, we have only external surveillance on the facility, which indicates mostly reactive and area denial astral security. Employment records for the facility indicate that it is staffed by an eight hour rotation of between twenty four and thirty security personnel."
Rakovic busies himself at the datapad by his chair for a moment, before passing across a pair of unmarked OMCs to
Skee.
"These contain all of the information I have briefed you on. As for the other two knowsofts, those will require twenty four hours. Anything else?"

"What is our deadline?" Shrine asks. "You have said that the missile will be there for two weeks for testing. How long do you expect that data to be on that system?"
"That brings to mind a few other questions" he adds. "Would the actual missile be acceptable in leu of the detailed specifications? And if we find that we can get the missile itself, it may be easiest to get our hands on it while they are transporting it after the two weeks of testing. Is there a separate time limit on that aquisition?"
grendel
Oct 27 2004, 03:30 AM
"Two weeks is your deadline. After that it will be much more difficult to acquire either the missile or its specifications. If it turns out that it is easier to acquire the physical missile itself, then do so and the bonus is yours."

Wraith speaks up. "I've got a place near-by that we can hold up in. You'll wanna bring your own beer though, I don't keep all my places stocked, cause I never know how long I'll be gone from them. My bike is parked outside, you guys can follow me."

Sif's soft, biting laughter spoke volumes of what she thought about Shadow having to bum a ride. There wasn't a chance in hell that she was going to even acknowledge Wraith's question about having extra room; her bike could hold two people, but it was a non-issue.
"I'm right behind you as long as this pad has a jackpoint," she told Wraith, "otherwise, I'll do some decking at my place and keep in touch with a vidphone. Don't worry, it will be as secure if not moreso than meeting in person."

"See you there," Sif said, heading for the door. She exited the hotel and hopped on her bike. The first stop was her apartment to pick up her gear, after which she made her way to Wraith's pad.

Wraith excused himself from the table and headed outside. On the way to his spare apartment, he dials up a take-out joint and orders some snacks and drinks for everyone. He drives a touch fast, wanting to make sure he is the first there to get things setup.

Shadow double checks the address. "Actually, its not that far, I'll jog there, see you once I get there."
Heading out thedoor he breaks into a brisk jog, nothing world record setting, but fast enough to dover a mile in about 6 minutes.
Arriving at Wraith's place he heads up to meet the gang.

As Shadow decided to travel on foot, Niome simply shrugged and followed Wraith to the address. Finding a parking space, she activated the car security and headed up to the apartment. "So...what next?" she asked, taking a seat on the couch.

Sif got off her bike and walked into the small building. She cast her gaze about the apartment, slight distaste for the decor apparent on her face. Seeing a jackpoint over near a worn chair, she slid into the seat and popped the clasps on her deck's case. Hearing the other woman's query she responded while working, "Well do we have names to call each other, or should I just use 'hey you'?" She waited a moment to hear the various responses then added, "Sif is what I go by for the most part."
Once introductions were complete, Sif began business. "Unless there is something beyond what our employer told us, getting the plans won't be that hard; I can probably do it myself. Actual physical extraction of the missile could be problematic. To aid in that endeavor, if they exist I'll get some floor plans, as well as background information, and do a more thorough search on our employer and who he might work for. Anything else you want, tell me now." Sif finished her comments and began twirling the datajack from her deck between her fingers, staring at it intently, waiting for further discussion.

"Name's Skee,"
Skee says. He pauses a moment to scan the other runners in the room, sizing them up. "I'm guessin' we're not going with a head-on assault here, are we? I mean, unless one of you has a trog hidden in yer pocket, we're a little lean on muscle."
"So basically, we're looking at either going ninja-style... y'know, black PJs and dark-of-night stuff.... or we do a little social engineering, maybe con out way in as a maid service or trid repairmen."
He rolls his tongue across his lips quickly before asking, "anyone else thirsty?"
Skee walks over to the cooler and opens the door. A mixed look of disappointment and disgust crosses his face. Closing the door, he turns back to the others. His mouth widens slightly as a cocky grin makes its way to his lips. His right hand dives beneath the folds of his jacket, only to emerge a second later with a chilled cocktail shaker. With another dive, he produces 6 martini glasses.
"What'll ya have?"

Trid Phantasm (force 1) of a bottomless cocktail shaker and glasses. held in a sustaining focus. Each cocktail will taste like whatever the drinker requested. Easy enough to ignore/resist if you want to. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy!

"What about the rest of you?"

"Thanks," Skee replies to Wraith, "just a little somethin' I picked up the last time I was in Vegas. Tastes great, less filling, and never a hangover."
"As for what I do," he says, turning to Sif, "smoke-n'-mirrors. Mischief-to-order. Havok-on-demand. Sweet-talkin' and smooth walkin'. I don't care much for fighting; I leave that up to Hilda..." He opens his jacket slightly to reveal the butt of a Remington Roomsweeper jutting from it's concealed holster.
