ANyone out there ever put together stats for a hang-glider?
I'm thinking to put it together like a vehicle but I'm not sure how to accomadate for wind, elevation changes and the like...
Thoughts?

They're out there somewhere.
The one time my group tried to use them we spent thirty minutes looking for the stats before giving up. Then we found 'em at the end of the session

.
Look in STOA 2063 or Corp Download or Rigger 2 if you got it. As I said, somewhere

Is the Nightglider what you are looking for, by any chance? It's in Rigger 2, IIRC. I know it was in Fields of Fire.

Fields of Fire, the Artemis Industries Nightglider, p 62. The stats are a bit out of whack (vehicles got a major stat-change overhaul between SR2 and SR3), but I'd say the body of 1 and a signature of 12 is about right. Costs 45,000 nuyen (ick!).

It also makes a kickass surveillance drone, as it has more than the pesky little CF drones usually have (at least if my memory serves me right).

The Nightglider is a good start, but I'm looking for a completely non-powered hang-glider. Think recreational use on cliffs and the like.
The catch is I need actual stats for it in case it ever gets used in say, the downtown core jumping off a skyscraper...
My thoughts were:
Handling 4
Speed 10/60
Accel 4
Body 1
Armor 0
Sig 4
Auto --
Pilot --
Sensor 0
Cargo 0
Load 190
Seating 1
Entry --
Fuel --
Econ --
S/B --
L/T VSTOL
Chassis Ultralight
SI 1
Avail 3/96 hours
Cost 15,000

(Legal)
I'm also not sure how to handle the mechanic for wind, elevation changes, thermal updrafts etc.
BTW--The Artemis Nightglider was reprinted in Rigger 3

That sounds like it's just asking for trouble... I hope it's not involved in any way with a shadowrun, because those runners are just plain dead meat. Just one security rotodrone with a machinegun mount will ruin your day, and skyscrapers are typically in a AAA zone.
I'd say it would be a modified parachute jump in most cities. Are there fixed-wing ultralight rules in Rigger 3?

Holy fuck, ¥15000? What is it made of, gold?

Some quick google-fu indicates that 'very good' competition hang gliders go for around 10K+ USD
REgular gliders go for around 3-4K, and the powered ones (nightglideresque) add another ~5K for the motor and stuff.

1-4k for regular stuff, more like.

People. It's people.

The Signature is way to low, remember it's an amalgam of noise, heat, radar profile, mojo\ination, etc. a 4 is just too low for something that aside from it's rader profile from below it, would otherwise be invisible

Well, and the natural signature of the Pilot, which is usually a 6.

Make it out of ruthenium with RAM and smart materials. It'll cost a mint but it might improve your survivability.

Not to mention you can trick people into thinking you're Superman if the glider is Ruthenium.
Yeah, Signature should probably be 5. Maybe make the Handling 5, too.

It would have utility to a shadow runner partly due to its complete lack of utility.
Consider using one to enter a compound with big fences and high security perimeter in an open aria, look like your just playing around and got blown of coarse by the wind and land near there buildings.
They will send guards to investigate but these craft normally do not have radios or maps, they will not expect you to be a threat an will probably try to intercept you on the ground and escort you off the property at gunpoint, giving you an element of surprise when you quick draw your guns and shoot there low level seck guards dead.
Or just play in the sky overhead for a while to get an idea of the layout on the ground
As to statistics I would suggest a special rule to cover the wind and thermals issue. Handling will be 4/6/10, 4 for landing and flying, 6 for gaining altitude with the aid of a terrain feature (wind threw hills) 10 to gain altitude with minimal terrain advantage (random thermals)

That entirely depends upon the facility, the company, and what that company's working on in that facility.
I can see some of them using loudspeakers to shout a single warning, then starting to shoot. "Joyriding" hang glider afficianado or not, you're in their airspace or (insanely) landing inside their compound. It's not their fault you don't have a radio -- they sent the standard warnings and received no response!
