Synopsis:

The Seattle Independence Movement has decided to upgrade it's agenda to include physical violence, but currently lack the physical assetts to perform much more than a static defense, and nuisance/harassment operations. Taht's where our esteemed runenrs come in to play. The team will be hired insert surveillance devices into an upcoming United Corporate Council Meeting. Afterwards, if they are successful, they will be retained as temporary security for the pirate broadcast of the contents of this meeting by SIM friendly Trid Pirates.

Okay I am tempted to make this a Pentration and Extraction run, t as I think about it I am not sure that'd be possible. Security is likely to be prohibitive enough. Thoughts?

The Players

The United Corporate Council

Comprised of 16 core members this Corporate Body reprsents the interests of Big Business in Seattle. For this game the major players will be Mitsuhama, Cross Applied Technologies, and Federated Boeing. There will be a few other smaller corporations at this meeting, but none willing to commit physical assetts to operations. The other Mega's will not be attendance at this meeting, and will not play a large factor in this run unless the players force the issue.

Lone Star Security Services

As the security provider for the Metroplex, and specifically the area immediately surronding the UCC facilities, they will have a vested interest in the players once they go active. They also have a smaller interest in the SIM movement and locating their base of operations.

The Seattle Independence Movement

This Policlub style organization seeks to sever the UCAS political control of the greater Seattle Metroplex, and the formation of an Independent state. Neoanarchist's have a heavily influential role in the Movement, hence it's support of Metahuman rights, better living conditions, socialistic distrubution of wealth and medical care and Anticorporate stance. Heavy on philosphy, butlight on physical assetts since their ranks were decimated two years ago by UCAS Army Intelligence operatives. the use of Shadow Operatives like the players is heavily contested move within the organization.

Places of Interest

Terzao Plaza

This four story Apartment block is four city blocks in length and wide. Each building is connected by a series of enclosed walk ways giving it the look and feel of a rat warren. Decaying and lacking in many modern services this slum is classified by Lone Star as a D during the day light hours and less at night. Most of the inhabitants of this ghetto are sinless, despite living in the southeasterly shadows of Downtown Seattle. SIM has assumed control of a small series of apartments in the building as a mobile headquarters, and the base of operations for this game. Utilizing local gangers as security, with a few of their own people mixed in Terazo is an urban combat nightmare.

The United Corporate Council Facilities

Okay here is where I need some help. At first glance I'd say the UCC utilizes semipublic facilities, renting spac municipal buildings, etc...but then I wasn't so sure that'd be true. After all corporate property can be declared Extraterritorial and therefore utlize an entirely different security theme.

I'll add more as I finish mapping.

I would definitely think the UCC would take advantage of their companies extra-territorial perogatives. Which is not to say that sections of their facility might not be open to the public for PR purposes, but given the nature of the UCC, you would think that they would want every security advantage they could get which means not relying on Lone Star entirely simply because it's the Metroplex's security service provider. It may be that the the UCC's physical assets and security are arranged by the Corporate Court itself, which would have the effect of making the facility 100% extra-territorial with all that implies for a unified security structure. This wouldn't necessarily be the only security force allowed in the compound but they would have to be pre-approved (as easy or difficult as you feel that would warrant). it would also make it a zero-tolerance zone for the usual inter-megacorporate shadowgames against each other, since the consequences could be quite dire. Security personnel representing the megas in attendance would be briefed on this and other policies and would probably co-ordinate with their opposite numbers in other corps with a higher degree of efficiency than one might expect normally. That's really all I can think of off the top of my head. Good luck and I hope that helped.

That's along the lines of what I have been thinking. Thanks. I just wanted tomake sure I am not crazy. Or at least as much...

Be sure to include a Thor shot, and ninjas, lots of ninjas...

But seriosly, if Cross Applied Tech. is going to be there, I would definately assume that there will be a few undercover Seraphim agents there to keep tabs on the situation.

A few other things to take into account:
How big is this meeting/how important?

Is this a general meeting, or is it for a specific agenda?
- is it something they do every few weeks?
- are they addressing a matter of great importance?
- are they ordering pizza (also known as- who's catering)?

If it's something they do regularly, they'll have a good sound security plan down. guards will likely know each other, even if they're from different corps. pre-screening for auxiliaries (caters, secretaries) has already been done.

If it's a quick setup for something important, they're more liable to be more jumpy/wary, and also a little less familiar with the people around them. Which can be good and bad.

Do they have a good working relationship up to this point?Up to a certain extent, how much to the involved parties trust each other?

Mitsuhama's pretty well known for their drones and zero-zones. If they have time to setup the security, and reason to worry, it could get pretty nasty.

Also, how does the team plan to get passed basic countermeasures such as scanners, and white noise generators?

Also, how are other special interests groups going to work together? The Seraphim are pretty notorious for having an us vs them complex. Look at how they acted towards Aurelius when he jumped ship. having them watching say, the yaks that may be helping out with security on the side.

Definitely. Although CAT will have a diminshed presence in the finalized version of this run, they will have some operatives on the ground. 4 assigned this conference. I figure their op orders will be protect and serve CAT interests and little else.

I figure the players will have their hands full with Mitsuhama, I won't hit them too hard with CAT unless they're cake walking it.

It's a monthly meeting for a post held by a rotating corporation designated by a preapproved schedule. They are designated as the Seattle Corporate Liason Comittee, and they preside over corporate interests in City policy. (So they dictate city policy to the city as it behooves them!)

Yes, to both. It is a general meeting but one of the corporations will have a specific agenda they intend on introducing. SIM (The Seattle Independence Movement) got a lucky break when a decker of theirs was snooping and pooping in some corporate citizens files and discovered a hint to this agenda.

Once a month. Although other comittees meet on a regular basis.

Mitsuhama plans on announcing that they're [going to subvert the local sewage system to dump a toxic chemical in it.] (I am not sold on this one yet. I may do something else yet. SOmething more horrifying.) SIM knows that they're making an announcement like this, and want to capture it to broadcast.

This question caught me off guard! I actually forgot that people get hungry. Thaks. My assumption is that some sort of small snak style buffet will be set up-fruits, bagels and breads, and some bottled drinks. The food is stored onsite, and is set up by two of the facilities staff.

The food itself is restocked once a week, brught in by a small truck from an Aztechnology owned subsidiary.

The security personel are divided into two catergories-Permanent personel and temporary duty.

The permanent personel handle most of the day to day security. They are supplimented by a rotating cast of corporate security staff. All of the magically active staff are on loan from various corporations.

For the most part this is easy duty, and that makes for good relations amongst the staff. Obviously they're are some individuals with their own agendas, but they keep it on the down low.

More later.
