Heh. Yep, I also thought he might help out there. smile.gif

I believe you do not need to do these things sequentially (otherwise Fixers would have a rather hard time making a living biggrin.gif), so it should take 3 days (the longest time) to get these things, right?

That is a correct assumption. But given that you've got two and a half days, I think I can be flexible and let you get them before the next gig begins.
J. Packer
Okay, you guys are effectively on your own here - a mini sandbox if you will - until Thursday noon. So you should put some posts in there show us what you're doing with your offtime. Ghost is buying some gear, I know that Rick is looking for warez - so tell that story. I might veto something outrageous, but roll your rolls here in OOC and then write a novel. smile.gif

I'd like to pick back up and go into the second scenario soonish - what's a good timeframe for you guys? This weekend? Wait for Monday?
Thanee
I will also need a spare clip...

AV4 5¥ Spare Clip
Extended Test (12h) 2 hits + 2 hits -> takes 24h

I will be unavailable all of saturday. Monday would probably be better, but I am flexible. Just if you do something on saturday you'll be waiting until sunday for me to post, and on sunday.. i'll be slow.
Thanee
Yep, I will write a post, once we get to the downtime part. wink.gif

@Faraday: Can I assume Warden will help Ghost with installing the stuff? She would call him at some point during the downtime, as he is clearly the most skilled armorer she knows. biggrin.gif

I believe most of them are just routine (they are accessories, not modifications), but the Personalized Grip will require some rolls, I guess.

Sorry guys, I was asleep until like 1:30 today. :V

gonna throw up some postage now tho.

I think I will make a few minor tweaks on Cruiser:

Adding 1 ranks in Etiquette by subtracting 1 from Shadowing.

I am also leaning towards dropping Dodge 3 altogether and increasing Athletics group from 2 to 3. The extra 2 BP would go to a Specialization in Blades. I was not sure how Dodge, Gymnastics and Parry worked; I think I am "double-dipping" by having Dodge and Gymnastics. Am I reading this wrong?

As for Karma:

1 --> Specialization in Automatics (SMG) by breaking up the Firearms Group
1 --> Specialization in Motorcycles for Pilot Ground Crafts

That means I still have 1 karma which Cruiser will bank.

He also wants to add the Gyroscopic Stabilization for his bike. He will start by asking if anyone on his team knows someone who can fix bikes, if that does not work, he will ask Carlos.
klinktastic
Nothing in RAW says specializations break up skilll groups. Only a skill increase does. However, specializations cannot be applied to skill groups...aka athletics skill group specialization triathalons or something.
J. Packer
That all sounds entirely reasonable. Gymnastics does allow you to be a bit more creative with your movements than Dodge does, but for combat purposes, Dodge is just fine.

Warden can fix guns, not cars. I may invest in a skill level for it, though.

If you read the part about skill groups carefully, you will see that it does, actually.

Well, not quite... it doesn't say that it breaks up the skill group... but it does say, that you cannot use specializations with skill groups.

It also says, that you do not roll the individual skill's ratings, but rather the skill group's rating.

The point why you cannot use it is... you do not actually have the Gymnastics skill, if you have the Athlectics skill group.

You only have Athletics then. That's why you cannot specialize. You cannot specialize Gymnastics, because you do not have Gymnastics.

Hmmm...Interesting... might have to change one of my specializations then.
Thanee
Well, as long as JP has no problem with it... it is a pretty pointless limitation, anyways. wink.gif

I think I'm okay with specializing in a skill that's part of a group, if it's done during play, with Karma.

Faraday
Warden's trying to help the "hangover" from Jazz by drinking. A lot.
Beer 2 3 hits
Beer 3
Beer 4
Beer 5
Beer 6
Beer 7 So far, so good. At leat 2 hits on each of those rolls and no glitching...
Beer 8
Beer 9
Beer 10 Ok, think that should be enough to deal with any issues. Warden's downing a beer a minute and holding his own, basically. He's gonna get real interesting though.

So can I assume that Carlos my fixer friend hooks Cruiser up with a biker shop. If so will post in IC the upgrades he will be making the next day. I will try and figure out the time it takes to work on the bike when I get my hands on Arsenal tonight. Also will assume biker workshop has some bikes for sale and will call Warden then.

I have a lot of time today, but Saturday is my irl Shadowrun game that I GM and will be busy. Sunday is family day, so prefer Monday start to next scenario.
Faraday
That reminds me. I work all weekend and on monday I have a 14.5 hour day. Tuesday and on is all good though. wink.gif
J. Packer
Cruiser should have a response, IC, so run with it.

I'll start the ball rolling on Monday, see if I can't get a few of you in the same space, at least, before Tuesday. Game time will be Thursday AM.
J. Packer
Cruiser, if you take Warden where I think he's going, you'll cross into the Sioux sector, so I'll need border crossing rolls if you do decide to follow that path.
J. Packer
Ghost can roll all of those ammo purchases up with her already rolled ones for her own guns. If the guy sells gun parts and the like, he'll have a range of ammo to choose from.
sabs
Did Ghost want a ride home btw? Or no?

There's too damned many of you. smile.gif I'll go back and look at the email exchanges we had. I thought I had you in Sioux territory.
Thanee
Ok, let's make some quick rolls for the ammo (shot rounds is regular ammo? or flechette? Well, both is 2R, so...)

24 Shot Rounds (Jessie) 2R 1 hit + 1 hit -- those were somewhat hard to get! biggrin.gif
30 Regular Rounds (HK) 2R 3 hits -- NP
30 Stick-N-Shot (HK) 5R 1 hit + 4 hits -- NP
30 Ex-Explosive (HK) 12F 4 hits (forgot to change the notes in IC) + 2 hits + 2 hits -- Nope, those are not available in the downtime period (as expected, really).

Just deduct the money yourselves... you will get the change back, of course. smile.gif

I thought Warden lived in UCAS. If he pings me a Sioux address Cruiser will need to change his post. He might be getting drunk, but not stupid. "Two orks on a bike, drunk, drive up to the border crossing..." That is not a good way to start a story. A joke, maybe, but not a story with a happy ending eek.gif
J. Packer
Yeah, sorry, we'll have to let you edit - you do live in the Sioux sector, up north of the CAS.

Especially when they're still armed to the teeth. >_>

Also, how do I end up living in the Souix sector when I'm a UCAS citizen? Someone fumble the paperwork in the immigration office?
J. Packer
Yeah...two drunk, armed, cybered orks on a motorcycle drive into a border crossing... That's not going to end without tears.

Just lucky? Honestly, I picked a place for you to live, and only after that fact did I look on the map to see where it was located. Heck, it's been long enough, I might have thought you were a Sioux citizen being up there in the Dakotas.

We can retcon that as well, if you'd like...
sabs
He probably should be a Sioux Resident..
The Sioux and UCAS are almost always on a near shooting war smile.gif they love each other so much.

Well, he was pretty close to the border to pick up some Dakota, so hey, I guess I could see that. I don't really want to worry about further editing though, and it might be handy to have people in different sectors. (It can also be a PITA, as our latest near-misadventure showed us.)

Maybe he's on a temporary Visa or something. Hell, today passports will often allow 6 months in a country.

EDIT: We could also do a fake retcon, where it turns out Warden gave Cruiser the wrong address because... well, he was drunk. smile.gif

Regarding Availability of stuff; have not really used very formally in my games. So what should I roll...

Cruiser heads into the Workshop to get the Motorcycle Gyro Stabilization (Availability 8; Cost = Body*300, and a Threshold of 16 to install). So what should I roll to see if they have one available? SR4A calls for Negotiation + Charisma? But isn't that for Black Market goods? Since this mod is not restricted or forbidden, do I roll the same extended test? If so, dice pool is: Charisma 2 + Negotiation -1 (defaulting) = 1 die. So Cruiser will be having a damn long time finding anything. Could his fixer friend roll instead? Cruiser would be willing to give him a finder's fee. How many dice would Carlos have?
Faraday
I'll presume the shop has a Contrail Warden can buy. He'd buy it with money on hand. >.>

It looks like, technically, the R or F doesn't matter - just the cost (to determine the interval) and the availability (to determine the threshold). The only thing you can just buy wherever, whenever is something with no availability rating.

You may, of course, pay your fixer to find things for you. They take 5% times their connection rating of the cost of the item as an additional "finders fee"
Thanee
You could probably also let the shop handle that part. It's their job after all. wink.gif

For Availability, it says to make those rolls when you want to acquire a controlled item on the black market.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a mentioning of this case, specifically. wink.gif

But if you ask nicely, I'm sure Lyle or Ghost will help locating a source for the parts to save you some money. smile.gif

Of course, with the cost it takes 2 days to make one roll, so it is rather unlikely that we will be able to get those 8 hits in time.
Might take a bit longer (about a week) to get that stuff located.

The Thundercloud Contrail is a stock bike, and has no availability number, so yes, they will either have one or have a means of getting you one immediately, if you have 5K cash on hand to pay them with.

As for the gyrostabilization, those are availability 8, so you'll have to do some searching to find it, or pay a premium to the mechanic of 20% over list.
Isinghar
Will ask Ghost and/or Lyle pretty please to help out. Last option will be to pay the 20% premium and have shop locate it
Faraday

Warden is feeling good and irresponsible. 5k will be down on the table. Also, for the sake of having *something* different, I'll pick up a Yamaha Katana-11 (same stats and cost, just an alternate model name for flavor). Leaves me a little over 600 nuyen.gif. >_>

I might add that Warden has no visible cyber mods except for the dermal sheathing, which can only be seen if he walks around with no sleeves or no pants. (he still looks pretty mean, though)

It's the next morning... getting the ammo doesn't go that fast. biggrin.gif

Okay guys, we have some major timestamp issues. I blame Faraday, because I copied and pasted his without paying attention. smile.gif If the posts are post-party, it should be Tuesday, April 5, in the morning.

I'll go back and edit mine, please do the same so we're all on the same page, between 10 and 12 on Tuesday morning.
