Welcome to the support thread for Dumpshock members who don't want to form an opinion on SR4 until they see it; who are willing to wait to see how it turns out before arguing over how it is the Second Coming / Yeats' version thereof.

Don't mind if i stop by for a while? Hey, it isn't like i pre-ordered SR4 at the local FLGS or something.

Just because i'm tired of putting up with SR3 doesn't mean i have to move to SR4.
WTF? No sodas, what about Kool-aid? Even Camp Big Stick had Kool-aid, and brownies.
Ah never mind, i might only stick around till next weekend anyway when the demo comes out. At that point i'll probably be able to decide whether SR4 is something i want to buy and try out or i just leave the 6th world to itself entirely.

Please, close your closet back up. I just don't need to see inside a scary place like that.

<shakes head> Back in my day, we waited with bated breath for the zone to be invaded. We had illustrious penetrators of the forbidden sectors...Captain Kirk. Captain Picard. Denise Crosby in pointy ears. Ah, good times.

hoping not to, but thanks for the advice.
For what it's worth, I was arrested once for not paying a fix it on a tail light. Watched Simpsons and Dharma & Greg in the waiting room for a grand total of two hours. Fun stuff. No pervo klingons thankfully.

Ooo, Denise Crosby in pointy ears... bring on the Kirk Manoeuvre...
(And btw, that still rates as one of my favourite jaw-droppers of TNG. It only worked if you'd been watching from the beginning and recognised her from being Tasha Yar, but it was still a moment of complete WTF?! )

Is the demo being released as a PDF from the website, btw? I only dip in and out of this board, the rhetoric tends to leave me feeling like the bloke from the old Maxell video.

There are supposed to be some demos run at Origins in Columbus, OH next week. Hoping for feedback.

http://forums.dumpshock.com/index.php?showtopic=8897Bull also mentioned in another thread, before that, that he plans on posting about how the demo went. Not sure if that means he'll put in any details? *shrug*
EDIT: Adam also mentioned that a fairly large preview is coming out sometime before product release. But no firm schedule yet for that, or even firm list of content. Adam said that was going to be determined likely at Origins. My conjecture is that, among other things, he'll watch the demo for feedback on what will work well for that aspect of the preview.

I'll be honest... While I knew they were planning demo's at Origins, my actually attending and doing any GMing is a last minute thing (as of a week ago or so). I honestly don't know exactly how much we're supposed to reveal in the demo's, nor if we're going to be allowed to talk about it after the fact.
However, shy of making everyone play sign NDA's (And the headache that comes with trying to enforce those), I imagine anyone who plays will be free to post their thoughts.
Should be an interesting weekend.

Don't like soda? You are against those beacons of capitalism, Coke and Pepsi? Sounds like a Communist stance to me! Your brash opinion is noted and i will file a report in triplicate to the appropriate department for evaluation of your possible communist sympathies.
But first i ask Computer to please authorize immediate termination of Brother hermit to ensure that his possible Communist activities are not allowed to spread unhappiness and descent in this support thread.

The Cola Wars ended, man. Besides which, there are more competitors than Coke and Pepsi. Behold the power of Bawls, Moxie, Royal Crown and more!

And MekkaCola. Out of two Rupies you pay for it, one goes to the Islamic resistance!
Not to mention the thoroughly communist Club Cola, sold throughout Germany and (I heared) in some selected shops in Poland.
Soda isn't just for capitalists any more.

Quick note that the demos at Origins do not relate in any way to preview material being released; the Origins demos are quick -- 30-60 minute, I believe -- games. I believe the only handouts provided will be character sheets.

It was a call centre handling support for the UK government's Y2K action team (Action 2000, anyone remember those losers?). I think I drank about a half case of Jolt a day to keep me going through that PoS job... On the other hand, I
did convince them they needed a specialist internet research team, and that they should double my pay to have me help set it up... (RL examples of exploding 6's on a Negotiation test are fun
