I was just looking at how to add a turret to our runner-mobile.
We're using a R-R Prarie Cat, already decked out with concealed armor and reenforced seating. I was examing the Improved living amenities for their probable appontment with the crowbar and found the people space requirements.
Am I reading correctly that if I remove the Improved living amenities that it will free up not only the 12 CF and 100kg used by the amenities itsels (apeice), but the 150 CF +6cf/person and 150kg of People Space per person?
By my math that's 186CF and 500 KG
Is this an RV or a Semi?! An underpowered Semi?!

This is what happens when you create a vehice design process after you create the vehicles. I can't say for sure that you'll get all that back. check the chassis and see if it's within bounds for the chassis.

AFAIK, yeah. Welcome to the world of the rigger mate... bring your own sliderule.

These are the same rules that declare that a Remote-Control Deck is the size of two iPod Shuffles side-by-side.
We're all mad here.

people space is one of those things that allways makes my head spin. every time i try to re-engineer one of those vehicles that have them i give up sooner or later as i cant realy figure out what happens to that people space...

The rigger rules need to ALL be taken out and shot. The entire 'design vs customization' bullshit should have never existed. The real life Navy modified many carriers to use angled decks instead of flat decks. Why can't the Shadowrun Navy?
Anyways. Your specific issue.
Read literally, you simply are not able to remove the basic amenities. It's a design feature, you're not able to add OR subtract those post-production. But really, the problem is that CF can be expensive and rather than have every single RV cost a small fortune, they just threw in 162 CF that is set aside as people space in every RV.
The problem is that if you custom-build an RV and convince your GM you can remove the amenities and 'retake' the people space, surprise, you now have a metric assload of space. An 'assload' is approximately 50 cubic meters of space.
Solution: Remove the RV chasis and rebuild every RV on another chasis. If that's not an option, I suggest you just 'fudge' it a bit and say "...Uh...we get back the space from the amenities, 24 CF. Yeah. That's the ticket". What you're removing is microwaves, ovens, etc.

Really, when you get out the sliderule, 186 CF is a box (cube) of slightly less than 5 foot, 8 inches on a side - rather small to live in.

Funny, when you get out a calculator it is closer to 9.4 feet on a side.
186 cf/8cf/m^3=23.25m^3
23.25m^3 ~= 821.0659978 cubic feet
3√821.0659978 ~= 9.3639558158345261961811442221776 feet each side

Even if I leave in the people space it's still sufficient to mount my firepower, but if i trim that people space by say half and call the rest 'we have two trolls, space good'. Or,by what was just stated above I keep the "partial amenities" and strip the people space.......I don't see a way to lose here....
Tho I really question the module that stated that this belonged to the sarariman that lived there...when he didn't have another vehicle..
