Also, contemplating making a domestic dog shapeshifter using wolf stats; the inspiration here was Blue from Wolf's Rain, but I'd obviously go nuts tampering with it till it's really my own. Would allow for a shapeshifter that understands human society very well and has human social connections in a way that a wild creature wouldn't.
He should have the Negative Quality 'Bad Dog'. If anyone says that to him, he suffers the 'Combat Paralysis' Negative Quality's effects.

My blue really little dwarven combat adept.
I'm talking 3 hand spans height and strong as a troll.

My Killer-Shriek.
Basically, all ear and voice-ware and through some creative tinkering the equivalent of a built in sonic rifle.
And talking with his voice not synched to the movement of his lips too.

My Eye-Sore.
Basically everything i could do to obtain technological invisibility and using it to be really hard to look at most of the time.
More or less like the Predator Camouflage when moving.

Concept Character that specializes in infiltrating and killing yakuza.
In both lower legs shotguns shooting out of the knee.
So when he kneels in front of you, you are in short distance for both shotguns.

Pixie Drake Infiltrator.

Max Agility 10 racially while in dracoform (on the hypothetical basis that such a creature existed).

OOH! Make it SURGEd (Metagenetic Improvement) too! And Genetically Enhanced (does this work?)!

Nope, but that's what the pornomancer's sexy companion calls him/her at night...

Although it would sound more like: "Awh GAWWD!"

EDIT. Extra fun if said companion is an adept with commanding voice.

Characters I've created but will probably rarely play:

Batman: Born Rich (but now secretely broke) and Famous character with an Evil Twin. Unkillable (high dodge, even higher soak, ludicrous magic defense) combat (9P kick) and social (not a pornomancer but 15+ social dice pool) monster, runs at 90km/h. Blames his notorious evil twin when evidences lead to him (if you can get the GM to accept that Evil Twin can be used at your advantage, which any sane GM will refuse, especially with such a powerful character).

Raptor : A "lighter" version of Batman. The social part is now intimidation only and there's no dangerous Famous/Evil Twin combo. Still an unkillable combat monster with a high intimidation pool who runs at 90 km/h.

Overwatch: To his teammates, Overwatch is a complete team of Matrix-based assistance for the runs (tactical help, investigations, remote hacking and rigging from nearly everywhere on and off the planet). Actually he's just a student who does everything (except after runs parties) remotely from his campus. He hacks every low security nodes around the team to be able to watch them and/or tags along through a small stealth rotodrone.

Uzain Bane: A centaur who runs at 360km/h and practices Cappoeira. Addicted to stimulants and unable to stay long in the same place.

Horst 'Derrick' Tappert: A former homicide detective for the Munich police. He now runs the shadows for some strange and stupid reason. He's old, slow (reaction 1) and boring (he has a "long and boring talk" specialization for con) and he shows no emotions (thanks to a "no-moodchip" BTL) but he's supposedly good at solving problems and very popular with old people.

I think he means: Capoeira (Portuguese pronunciation: [kapuˈejɾɐ]) is an Afro-Brazilian art form that combines elements of martial arts, music, and dance. It was created in Brazil by African slaves by mixing the many fighting styles from many of their tribes, sometime after the sixteenth century.

The completely different body structure, extra limbs and mass is also a problem. Basically no martial art designed for humans is going to work for him, and considering the date of apparition of that specific Awakened race I doubt they got the time to develop martial arts suited for their morpholgy.

Well, Kickboxing would probably work exceptionally well fopr a centaur.
But yeah, that was one thing i wondered about . .
But NONE of you got stuck on the 360km/h running?

Yeah
Centaurs only run 120Km/h!

Although with cyberleg modifications
180Km/H with raptor
240Km/hr with Skimmer Discs

360Km/hr with both

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Ok:
Centaur Movement rate: 20/100m/turn
1 turn = 3 seconds
20 turns = 60 seconds
Centaur movement rate: 2k/minute = 120km/hour
raptor legs = +50% round down = 180km/hour
Skimmer discs = +100% movement rate = 120+120+60=300 OR 120*1.5*2=360
It depends

QUOTE (Draco18s @ Dec 4 2009, 12:46 AM) *
Irrational fears are hard to play.

Not really. I'm happy walking into a pitch black room (assuming I don't bang my shins), but I have a (non Shadowrun) character who is afraid of the dark. He carries the (magical equivalent) of a flashlight, and never turns it off unless he's in a place with decent ambient light. I managed to go almost a year of gaming without ever having an issue. The other players never even noticed; I just never offered to scout ahead when the way was dark, despite otherwise being the "point man". It finally came to a front because our mage has been tossing around a "stealth" type spell that creates a zone of magical darkness around the target. I kept saying "nah, I don't need it, I can sneak just fine, use it for somebody else" - so still, nobody noticed. Until last session, when the target of the spell was under attack, and I was unable to go help them (at first at least- I ended up getting lucky and maxing out success on a will roll to overcome my fear).

Its hard to empathize with irrational fear (unless maybe you have one yourself) but very simple to consistently apply the effects, which is all that is needed to play them well enough that nobody knows the difference.

True enough. But "fear of the dark" is a pretty mundane fear. A fear of trees...not so much. </oots>

A character with the 25 point amnesia quality (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

It'd be alot of fun having to figure out what skills I even have or anything, but I think most GMs would balk at having to make a character for a player (In addition to everything else they have to do).

No doubt. IMO, Amnesia should be a POSITIVE quality, that lets you spend some BPs to "remember you have" skills , contacts, spells, etc (maybe even a store of cash / equipment, even an implant) after game play begins (they'd be handled normally once bought, but need not be set at character creation). The type of total amnesia the negative quality represents is both staggeringly rare, and very hard to balance (could be worth way more / less than 25 points, depending on GM). Its not really suited for an RPG, unless its practically the focus of the story line.

Meh. Never go near a tree then. Refuse to enter any forest, and if you must, take a big hit to most tests due to distraction and anxiety (or get sloshed drunk and have the party carry you).
I see your point though. It helps a lot if you can come up with a REASON why you have that fear. For my character, his parents tried to hide the fact they had him, so as an infant he was often separated from his mother and hidden in some dark place.
I'd say all irrational fears should be something that people (as defined by your game) are often afraid of (typically for a sound evolutionary reason) and can be conditioned to fear at a young age. People aren't normally afraid of trees- in fact, being descended from tiger-evading monkeys, we are COMFORTED by trees. People really shouldn't be allowed to pick what their character is irrationally afraid of- random tables work best for that kind of thing. Unless the result goes against the core of the character (IE, a herpetologist who is afraid of snakes), let the dice decide.
