I think they're just put up for release after the convention season's over (or at least I think that's the plan). I hope so.

Well. Jetblack is an undead for artistic purposes. They have so much in common!

Is there *any* way to get a CMP if you're not doing a GMing turn at an American convention?

Run/play an event at a foreign convention? They're not US only, and I'll gladly send them to anyone running SR events in other countries (though I can only send them in English, for the time being. Translations would be up to other people (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) )

Like I said, there is a plan to release them to the general public at some point as well after the end of that years convention season. Probably as a bundle pack, probably at a fairly low price point, but that's not really up to me in the end.

For the 2010 ones, the problem is, again, finding the time to get them cleaned up and laid out into PDF (They're in text only format, and because of several factors, including rushing to get them done before the summer cons and because I hadn;t standardized a template for writing Missions yet, the files are all over the place in terms of how information is presented, what information is there, etc. I've been cleaning them up slowly, and they need to hit layout, but they're unfortunately really low priority right now. We need to get the SRM adventures out first.)

For the 2011 CMPs, I've been makng more of an effort to get those done in the proper format, and I even have teh first three fully laid out (if not fully proofed). Working on getting the rest done before Origins this year.

No release date would have made Emergence make more sense, except maybe shifting it into 3rd edition

Releasing Emergence right after System Failure and putting the new AI uprising "a few weeks later", then introduce TMs to the general public would have worked.

Yeah, see my other post. There are some speed bumps to getting the 2010 Missions out, and time just ended up a huge factor in getting those "finished". (They're all playable, just not in a releasable format).

Ok. I'll agree. That sucks and has no place in the 'game'. While it might ((remotely)) fit with the book. I guarantee you noone's going to be talking about Gaga in 10 years. much less 60.

Note that 1) the sidebar is someone looking up the term "gagaistic" in a dictionary, and 2) Shadowrun diverges from our timeline in the mid-1980s, so our Lady Gaga is not the same Lady Gaga of Shadowrun's past. In the context of those points, I have no problem with "gagaistic" as a common term with mostly forgotten roots.

Consider it a coincidence that later on, in Shadowrun World, some artist by the name of Gaga showed up and was considered "offensive". I really don't think much people would be paying attention to her in a world where native americans are getting agressive and being transfered to concen-, er, correctional facilities, weird babies are popping up here and there and DRAGONS are flying around.

The Whole Lady Gaga thing is just stupid.
It shows a complete lack of creativity on the part of the author.

Eh, I wouldn't say that.

But current-day pop culture references are generally a bad idea in works like this. They not only tend to get dated, they break immersion like crazy.

I'd agree with that.

I'm also trying to noodle out why Horizon would outlaw an author.

She didn't, no. She tried to get published through Horizon and got told no, but the editor read the book anyway and added a secondary email to tell the author not to stop writing. She goes through pirate publishers, sells better than several Horizon-backed books, they try to offer her a contract. She says no, they outlaw the books.

I'm ignoring it. Sticking a postit over that side bar or something. *Waves hand* It doesn't exist.

If I can harp back for a moment on the Iron Will, how big are these things? I can't imagine them being as large as say... the lifter from Aliens, but we aren't given any real relative size on it. No artwork to get a good gauge or real description of the item.
