Don't worry about Matrix: just say "no hackers...there is an NPC who will do that"
Don't worry about Magic: spells are pretty simple, summoning isn't too bad, and skip all the rest.

@ Seth and Aria: I am currently running a fairly dark campaign but am down to step in as a co-gm/player if needed. I havent read all the pages of ic stuff so Ill need to do that to see how to mesh my campaign but Im always down to run them. My posting rate varies all over the place though from multiples per hour or day to 5 day spans; dont know if that helps or harms for this persistent world thread. If you gms could recap significant events via pm that I may need to know behind the scenes as well as general infos Im down to start up. I will also be playing though if I may so I can/should be quite involved if thats acceptable.

Looks like i stand corrected. Each participant in a rating 4 tacnet needs 8 sensors a piece. So our current merry band of foes only needs 80 sensors feeds (assuming its centralized) to be at +4.

It's really quite easy to get 8 sensors each...the difficulty for most groups is getting the 6+ members to get that +4!

Mmm..maybe my imagination is limited, or is it that one drone in the net counts as a sensory feed for everyone? See, this right here iw why I would be a poor GM aside from finding creative ways to make players doing illegal things for paltry sums of money.

each rating in sensor counts as a channel each type does too etc. Drones will generally have highly varied sensors if they are nice ones.

Tell you what. I'll run some one off scenes from 2072 for bench characters, who can write themselves in. It won't be a campaign or such, but its something?

The way I play it, the drone is a member of the tacnet same as a runner, and it has to have a number of sensors = 2*tacnet rating to benefit.

@All
Having thought it over properly, I believe that a character like Dog will pretty much just end up getting himself killed rather quickly in the universe this game is running in (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) So, here is my question to all of you.

How would you feel about having a "Fixer" PC in your game? I've always been very interested by this side of the shadowrun world, and I'd love to play one. I would probably even offer jobs to other PCs if you'd be so inclined as to have this character around.

Any thoughts?

Bench: Scene is up.

If I can work my head around another thread I'd really like to play Silk again - she was my original character in this thread...she's been tweaked a tad from the link at the beginning of this thread but a recent version is on my Archive of Adepts in the SR forum...will update the link when I'm not on my phone (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

Don't want to slow anything down though...

Well, the one off scenes will be pretty short comparatively. Combat/opposed rolls will be using the same means as suicide kings. Aka State all your IPs intentions and rolls up front, then get one big counter scene and some requests for changes by me. A scene ends roughly whenever I would have to say "and 30 minutes later."

Copperhead's init: 7d6 + 7d6.hits(5)=3 = 10, 2 IP
Air spirit's init: 9d6 + 9d6.hits(5)=2 = 11, 2 IP (acts on 10)

IP 1:
Quick check of alpha's by the door for frag grenades: Int 3 + Per 2 + Vision 3 - 2 mods = 6d6.hits(5)=2 - spots a pair of frag grenades, pockets one, passes second to air spirit to deliver to beta team coming at door.

IP2:
Fires a couple of rounds at any beta team members charging cafe to keep their heads down:
Bang, bang: Agi 3 + shotgun 4 + smart 2 - cover 2 = 7d6.hits(5)=2, 7d6.hits(5)=3

Spending karma for spells, etc.
I keep forgetting that Copper is sustaining detect enemies, so any chance of burning a significant portion of her cash (30k) and karma (6pts) on a F3 sustaining focus on the assumption that her talimonger contact had found one for her before the current run. If not, then she is no longer sustaining it.

For area effect spells, combat spells are not her forte. However, Snake is a sneaky sort, so while Mob mind has a pretty vicious +4 on drain, how about that for an additional 1500 + 5 karma? I can certainly do something with Snake suddenly dropping that piece of knowledge into her head while she is high on cram.

Seth has the right of it.

Also, Sensors don't give rating in sensor channels. A rating 6 camera is 1 channel, same as a Rating 1. Now, Low-light, thermo, ultrasound, etc... those are seperate channels. Basically each different method of perception is a channel. Taste and Touch are just too limited to generally count.

Knowledge check to see if Dealer knows what the word of cambronne is: (logi 6 + college 2 for academics)

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3177739/ 3 hits.

Apparently he took a course on Napoleonic history on the side.

After that, IP 1 is an exceptionally uncreative shooting of people with short bursts as he realizes he only has 72x rounds left.

Beta 2 is the target ( I figure that section was rushing at the same time). If against all odds the first burst takes down beta 2, pick one of the other advancing betas. 1st is wide, 2nd is narrow.

Damage Code and enemy modifiers
1st: 6P / -5 + net hits -3 to dodge
2nd: 6P/ -5 + net hits + (2 after armor comparison). -1 to dodge for 2nd attack.

(DP 14 + Smart 2 + Tac 2 - Partial Cover 2 - 1 Stun - 0 recoil short burst is completely comped-1 shoot from cover) = 14d6, x 2.

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3177740/
Burst 1: 5 hits.
Burst 2: 8 hits.

I certainly hope Beta 2 dies horribly.

@ Seth:

Here's Demon's new Initiative role:
Ref(5) + Int(3) - Wound(3) = 5d6 for 1 hit.

Demon for Round 3: (That sniper's shot definitely sucked some of the fight out of him)
Init: 6
IP: 2

@ Applied Cheese:

I'm guessing that Dealer realizes Demon means the latter, less eloquent quote attributed to him. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

@ Applied Cheese:

I feel like after this is done, Dealer and Demon need to buy an apartment together and start a sitcom. We're the new "Odd Couple." The only thing we have in common is that we like killing people, and we do it well.

@ All:

I recently discovered the acronym function, so almost all of Demon's french has a translation put into it. I kinda sorta apologize for that letter to the sniper. It's pretty terrible, but it's in character. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

When this is done? We haven't even got past meeting the Johnson yet! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Someone should grab a few cases of APDS and frag grenades to take with us when we leave.

I'm figuring Demon'll get a counter letter. Something about the fact that she penetrated him first...

Anyhow, for IP 2:

Keep Shooting!

But first, Dealer looks for gaps in their advance where the enemy is crossing "in the open" so to speak, to negate the partial cover. Those moments when there's no car in the way etc.

(Int 5 + Per 3 + Enhance 3 + Tac 2 - 1 "shoot from cover" (I figure its hard looking out through the mousehole) ) 12d6.

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3177781/ 4 hits

I think its safe to say he finds one of the other betas from team 2 or 3 (GM pick) crossing the open with a clean shot.

Shoot him! 1st wide, 2nd narrow

(As per IP 1, without the -2 cover) = 16 d6 x 2

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3177784/

Base: 6P / -5
1st burst: 5 hits, -3 dodge
2nd burst: 6 hits, -1 dodge, +2 DV after armor check

IP 3

Reload, and more of the same. No Per check though..spent that action reloading.

Edit to the Below: reload will actually consume one of the simple actions, so only the 1st burst actually gets shot...I left the full text to avoid confusion.

If any of the wounded betas are still on their feet, target them first. Wide, narrow. if one target, wide wide if the first target goes down.

Not sure if he still has the "in the open" thing going on so its either 14d6 or 16d6

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3177790/

Base: 6P / -5
1st Burst: 7 hits, -3 dodge
2nd burst: 4 hits, -1 dodge and +2 DV if same target, -3 dodge if new target.

If in the open add

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3177792/

2 hits to each.

@Interested parties
I have a germ of an idea for a story arc and will put up an initial post in the next day or so. Will likely not be a frenetic as Seth's arc, at least not in the beginning.

@Aria
Does the cafe where Silk works have a name? Does Silk work any specific hours? I may not be a rat-bastard gm but I do have a reputation to live up to and what are PC backgrounds for anyway, if not to be used and abused by us?

@ Seth:

Ok, actions!

IP1:
Going over to one of the windows (staying behind cover), drop the Walther MA-2100 and take the Ares Alpha---Chevalier Noir that I've had slung behind me. I'm popping out the original clip (with regular ammo) and swapping in an APDS one. (I think I have enough actions for this, but tell me if I need IP2 for all of this).

IP2:
Switching to full auto mode and launching a barrage of suppressive fire of my own!

Ares Alpha info
Short Range: 0-50m
AP: Base(1) + APDS(4)=5
DV: 6P
RC: 5

Agi(6) + Firearms(4) + Smartgun(2) + TacNet(2) - Wound(3) - Cover(2) = 9d6 for 1 hit. Not my best showing, but we'll see what happens. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif)
