EVOLUTION CAMPAIGN
The Evolution Campaign follows our characters as they begin their careers as petty criminals in the suburbs of the California Free State Bay Area, evolving into shadowrunners, and rising from the shadows as they play key roles in political and corporate wars.

I stole many missions from adventure books, and a few from the web, which I tweaked, edited or bastardized to keep everyone guessing, or to fix things I simply did not like.

Epoch - A group of criminals find themselves in over their head. Will it make or break them?

MacGuffin - The runners successfully move an item only known as "the Prototype."
Out of the Smoke... - The runners are hired by another group, led by Cutlass, to move some merchandise, but soon these petty crooks find themselves having to rescue the professionals.
The Family Jewel* - A stand alone mission, that is a prequel to Survival, and though the players played different characters, RG remained, and some other characters have become contacts. The team makes a high rise raid to steal a heavily guarded Draconem Sapphire, which of course, turns out to be much, much more.
Where the Wild Things Are - The runners are hired to track down a piasma that escaped a genetic research facility.
...Into the Fire - Hired again by Cutlass, the team goes against heavy forces in this data steal, and in the process earn quite a reputation.
Evolution - The runners find themselves stealing samples from the same lab they were hired in Where the Wild Things Are. This gives them an advantage, but when recognized by their contact gained earlier, they now instead find themselves with an enemy.

Vengeance^tt - Mr. Johnson hires the runners to steal a package. Unbeknownst to them, Mr. Johnson was hired by their enemy from WtWTA and Evolutions, and the package contains a bomb. The explosion kills Yoshi and injures the others, leading them to seek out their own vengeance.
Knowledge^tt/f* - Never deal with a dragon, but is stealing from one okay? The runners steal the Kalista file from the Great Dragon Hestaby's lair on top of Mt. Shasta.
The Messenger** - Traveling to South America, the runners find themselves short on time and contacts when they unwittingly change the mission of a rocket launch, and have shootouts on the open seas and in the middle of the rain forest, leaving one of their own gravely wounded.
Cunning* - In Denver, the runners infiltrate a cult, kidnapping one of it's leaders, and finding themselves confronted by the enigmatic man in the white suit.
Mile High Mayhem - Before leaving Denver, the man in white hires the runners to do what they do best: cause destruction. Only he has a few specific targets in mind.
Veil* - Fast forwarding in the campaign a few months, the runners find themselves in Tehran, looking for a lost treasure, buried deep inside the burned down remains of the metropolis.
Realms* - The runners learn they have been employed by the great dragon Hestaby since before the run on her lair. Now she prepares them for their final run, into the astral plane.

KARMA POOL RULES

All Karma Pool for every player is dumped into the Team Karma Pool.

When using Karma Pool for additional dice or successes, they are purchased as such:
- 1st die/success costs 1 Karma
- 2nd die/success costs 2 Karma
- 3rd die/success costs 3 Karma
- etc., etc., etc.

Minor uses of Karma Pool refresh at a rate of one-half at the end of the encounter. This is will be rounded to the players' disadvantage, of course. Minor uses include:
- Reroll one die on failure
- Additional dice (before roll)

Moderate uses of Karma Pool do not refresh until the end of the mission. Moderate uses include:
- Oops
- Add one success
- Hooper-Nelson Rule (Lower a Target Number of 12 or more)

Major uses of Karma Pool are permanently burnt. The amount of Karma spent is dependent on the situation and is determined by the GM.
- Hand of God - will not burn all Karma Pool and Good Karma. It will however, permanently burn an equal share of the Team Karma (if there are 3 players, 1/3rd burned, 4 players, 1/4th burned). In addition, that same amount is spent as Moderate Karma Pool used. Permanently burnt Karma can be divided up however the players see fit, but we will be always using Team Karma, so it shouldn't matter, so I would disperse it as evenly as possible.

Find Target Number (TN) based on distance and all modifiers
Roll applicable skill (throwing, throwing grenade, ect)
Use standard scatter direction indicator and roll 1d6 to determine direction
Roll 1d6 – successes to determine location where the grenade landed
Repeat for scatter
If zero successes roll as many d6 as the distance modifier (ie short range 4)
PCs and NPCs can dodge
Grenades explode at end of next turn (4-5 second fuse)
Hang time determined by distance, 1 second plus 1 second per distance

Bounce
Bounce a grenade off a wall x2 TN

Cook
Use one combat turn to cook, complex action
Use scatter chart and 1d6 – successes to determine the landing location of grenade
No scatter
Grenade explodes on impact
PCs and NPCs cannot make reaction test to dodge/take cover

Grenade Launchers
Short Range (0-10 meters) can be fired as direct fire
(no scatter on hit, on a miss GM to determine scatter IC)
Use standard scatter direction indicator and roll 1d6 to determine direction
Roll 2d6 – successes to determine location where the grenade landed
Use of leaf or electronic leaf will reduce TN.
Grenade explodes on impact.
