I am trying to build a Smuggler character (vehicle rigger) and I am suffering as I try to assemble the rules from the core book. There is some information in combat on vehicle combat and the some more in Wireless world on programs and skills, then a little more on vehicles in Arsenal. I have been trying to make notes on how rigging works but it is VERY confusing having to jump all over the books.
Can someone summarise for me the rules I need to know? Thanks for the time |

Thanks for that info. I checked out the site and it provided some assistance but many questions are still really fuzzy. Like:
1) What gear do I need to be an effective rigger? 2) What skills are needed to be an effective rigger? 3) How does Vehicle combat run? (the main book was confusing on this) 4) Can the response and signal be modified? (mostly for control ranges) 5) Can a drone be controled through the matrix, thereby passing signal issues? 6) Car sensors? (I do not understand Arsonal on this at all) 7) What programs are needed for rigging? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) How do auto softs work? Lets start there, I do have more questions. Any help is welcome. |

1) What gear do I need to be an effective rigger? Depends on what kind of rigger. You can "rig" vehicles in various modes that require (Vehicle/Commlink Response + Skill) or (Command Program + Skill) or (Attribute + Skill). Choose equipment which boosts these. 2) What skills are needed to be an effective rigger? Primarily Pilot skills. See above for others. 3) How does Vehicle combat run? (the main book was confusing on this) Abstractly. The combat vehicle combat section has it laid out fairly well. The details however are a bit scattered because of the different modes are in different relevant sections. 4) Can the response and signal be modified? (mostly for control ranges) Yes, see the customizable commlink section in the book 5) Can a drone be controled through the matrix, thereby passing signal issues? Yes. 6) Car sensors? (I do not understand Arsonal on this at all) Treat sensors = Dice pool to sense stuff, details to be provide by the GM One way to think about it is as a Intuition stat. If you want to upgrade or modify, then you can get specific sense boosts. 7) What programs are needed for rigging? For some types of rigging, none. ECCM, Scan, Biofeedback filter, Command are some basics. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) How do auto softs work? They add dice to the test. Treat as software programs the drone/vehicle can load to assist. BTW, the thread listed above is a very informative Summary. really. All these questions and more are answered and discussed in there. |
