I think everyone is over thinking it. The rule originally was put in place to keep mages from casting spells through an electronic device. So said mage can't see the president on the tv and nuke him with a fireball or something. It you are using glasses, goggles, contacts, you are fine as long as you are using enhanced vision modes such as low light or thermal or ultrasound(they are by definition electronic enhancement). Vision Mag is not electronic in nature. Using AR or VR to target is right out (Electronic Device).

If you need to find someone in the dark, astral perception. People show up like beacons.

Also, a target does not need to be fully obscured to receive a cover bonus. At what distance do shadows provide a cover bonus?

Is perception the same as line of sight? A perception test does not automatically fail if you do not have line of sight.

You say that it is relevant to know the PoO to properly assess the level of cover. Tell me, if someone had partial cover (up to 50% of his body behind something), would that change if the perceiver was a cyclops as opposed to a regular troll?

Other than the lack of depth perception? Nothing. IN both cases, however, glasses would be in the way. The question here isn't so much about astral perception as it is about astral visibility, though, as visibility is the determining factor in tatgeting spells.

When you are trying to find something, are you standing perfectly still, or are you moving your head around, up and down, side to side? Where your eyes are at any given time is not going to be at the same place in space. How can the PoO of your "vision" going to make much of a difference if it comes from your forehead, a couple of inches away from your eyes?

A minor sense of disorientation, but nothing major and certainly something you can get used to. The more important question is: How do you intend to prove that astral visbility originates from the forehead of your astral body?

RAW says it's a psychic sense, not a visual one. Such things (psychic) come from the mind so the mind is the sensing organ.
