Little question: I've seen a few sheets now where there was a 'link with an agent and other cyberprograms.
I thought programs (and Agents) were only available for Decks (and Rigs). Did I misunderstand something? |

Jack is probably the person to ask for a definitive answer but there are various bits from Unwired that allow them. One of the 'PACKS' on my excel generator lists one way of getting such a beast. Jack has a whole damn network of the things!

There are two ways to get an agent to work on a standard commlink:
The Nixdorf Sekretär from DT p.61 comes with a R3 agent (which is pretty sweet in and of itself) The other way is to hardwire a program carrier to your commlink (DT p.66) and have it run Virtual Machine so you can have an Agent and another program running. Getting a few of those things working together as an Agent Cluster for Teamwork checks has pretty sweet results. |

Nixdorf Sekretär okay, I had forgotten about that one.
But even if I considered the Program Carrier, it's a deck dongle not a 'link one. I don't see how it can legally (rules-wise) be put on a 'link. Unless it was errata'd somewhere? |

No need for errata: You can hardwire mods on any device you want. Dongles are whole different thing (those you can only put on commlinks)

I really need to read Data Trails. There's a reason Jan doesn't trust technology - because I don't know the rules! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

Is there perchance any openings? You would need to speak to Mercy about the possibilities of an opening in Tangled Currents, but given the amount of GMing that is already going on there that might be a stretch! Run! has room for another player...we're trying to re-galvanise that game after some dropouts...it's a bit unusual though so check out the recruitment thread for details... |

Song of Patterns – EPIC SR pbp
Hi folks…I’ve got some provisional plans for an epic SR/Earthdawn/Eclipse Phase crossover game that will start later on in the year. I’ve got 5 notionally confirmed players so far and I’d like to open it up for a couple more if there are any of the TC crowd that are interested? I would love to take everybody who wants to join but previous experience suggests that waters it down for everyone and stresses me out so please think seriously about whether you would want to commit to this and are able to play here on DS and on Shadowgrid too. It will be a mix of collaborative and GM led play, much like SFW running on SG… the ‘now’ will probably be 2077. Will probably only use full blown SR5 rules for ‘boss’ encounters with other minor encounters boiling down to a single roll or two to determine success. I think I will run the ‘present’ stuff on DS, with flashbacks/forwards on SG, that way, barring both platforms being offline (which admittedly has been known to happen) we should have somewhere to maintain the game. OoC can be handled on either site as needed…or email me at aria.emerging@gmail.com Semi-confirmed players so far: Adam, Mercy, Jack, Beta, Obidancer This is all based on a game run by Seth here on DS a long time ago, so thanks to him for the inspiration (and quite a lot of this opening post)! Jack has offered to help co-GM some of the scenes in the past, please let me know if you would like to try your hand at GMing some of this! Basics [ Spoiler ] The rules for character creation have a few modifiers, given the nature of the game, this set is designed for the ‘present’ and we may need to modify things a tad for journeys in to the past/future [ Spoiler ] A brief history [ Spoiler ] So, any questions please shout, although I’m away for a week now and might only post periodically in that time… |

This sounds like an 'Awesome' idea (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
How does Eclipse Phase fit in? |

I may sound foolish, but I have a question on character attributes. The CRB outlines the basic character attribute maximums on page 66. Are these the maximums at character creation or the absolute maximum the stats can be? For example, for a human, the chart lists a max for Body of 6. Can a character improve that attribute up to 10 with earned karma after chargen?

To my knowledge no, unless you acquire an Exceptional Attribute quality, which boosts the limit by one.

So why does the chart go up to 10?

Because some metatypes (i.e. Trolls, Pixies ) have attributes that do max out at ten.

This sounds like an 'Awesome' idea (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) How does Eclipse Phase fit in? EP has some themes that fit, so I would be borrowing stuff rather than playing exactly to that 'universe' |
