It looks like there are no more sorcery/conjuring adapts in SR4? Did I somehow missread this? Any idea why they chose to go this way?

They are sort of in there, they are now just regular Magicians that do not put BP or karma into either the Sorcery or Conjuring skill groups. As such they still have access to full Perception/Projection.

EDIT: Ya, Mystic Adept is sort of like that too. Only they are really Magician's Way Adepts.

<edit> sorry. Thought you were speaking about mystic adepts there smile.gif

The reason they´re not in there is that you can make any kind of magican you want using the rules as they stand. The days of all or nothing is gone.

Well, you could do the same earlier, really. Pick 'full mage' and not put anything in spells or conjuring...

I'm guessing (hoping?) they'll reappear in the magic sourcebook...

Otherwise, just have them cost 10 or 5 BPs, and be limited to either sorcery group or conjuring group (or, for fun, make other combinations of magic skills - Anti-mage: Banishing/Counterspelling/Binding; Ritual Mage: Ritual Sorcery/Summoning/Binding; Solo mage: Spellcasting/Counterspelling/Banishing.)

Or combine with a Mentor spirit and only do magic they have a bonus for (more limited than previously, though).

For the "full tamale", I suppose you can get the Incompetant quality for the Conjuring skills. Same with a Conjuring adept (Incompetant quality for Sorcery skills).

And be a mystic adept with all power points in the Magic attribute and only astral perception as a power. Combine that with incompetence for one of the magic skills and there´s really no difference from an aspected magican (eccept you have the option of getting adept powers).

Incompetence (Astral Projection) may be a possibility when going the way of a Mage, but this would be a 'houserule'.

Indeed it would be, since Astral Projection is not listed as a Skill.
