So I'm looking at the "Advancement" tab, at B824...

The formula points to C174, which is the "First-Aid" skill rating.

1) What does First-Aid have to do with Complex Forms?

2) I can't find anything in the source books about getting Free Complex Forms, so am I missing something?

3) The Karma sum in C824 doesn't seem to actually add the Karma for Complex Forms, only adds Submersion and a blank cell with nothing in it.


So I think C824 should be =SUM(D801:D823) , unless there is something with the "Free" listed in B824 that I don't know about.

Also, Karma spent on Technomancer parts are not added to total Karma Costs, so I think cell D28 should be "=D824+J813" instead of "0".

To select the Language go to the translation tab and pick the language you want to use.
if there ist no entry in the columb of the chosen language always the englich columb is used.

This sounds like a real great idea but also like a hole bunch of work and time to invest. How did you done the replacement and generation of the translation list, I assume some kind of macro copying all values to the translation tab leaving only a =TEXT reference in the source cell?

I already started again working a bit on the sheet ... so far I took care of the following items:
    - Changed Costs for Attributes from fixed to variable value, enter cost per point in field "Atrib. BP Cost"
    - Adjusted/Aligned some general Formatting (Still something to correct)
    - Corrected Issue with free BP for Contacts generating general BP if not used
    - Corrected Issue with (free) Knowledge Skill BP Calculation
    - Slight re-design on round char function, free points are not forcing total value below 0 or above BP max anymore (beauty correction)
    - Corrections / Adjustments on Macros as not all field where reseted correctly on a clear
    - People asked for a page showing essentials for Magic and Combat on one page, so I made it. Not yet 100% satisfied with it, suggestions please!
    - Extended Comlink Modification, Mods are now shown on charsheet while auto calculation Still missing.

Regretfully I worked with the last version of Jamz, so the translation function is missing ... anyway I will share my version when I am completed and finished with some testing.

In regards to the translation function ... I briefly checked if there is an easy way to combine both version but it doesn't look so. In addition I'm not quite sure how far I would be able to extend or just maintain the sheet with the translation function included as it makes it really confusing (while it is already confusing without wink.gif). Do you think there is a way to apply the translation (maybe via your macro) version for version hard coded or something like that after changes have been made? We still could use the same translation list.

@Jamz, TwistedMind and all working on this sheet in the past or those with plans for the future ... want to help, have ideas or request wink.gif

I can't seem to get the sheet to work properly with excel 07. I click the button to finish and advance a character but absolutely nothing happens as a result. What am I doing wrong?

Did you enabled macros? If not or you're uncertain ... check:

3. Verify that: ""Disable all macros with notification"" or ""Enable all macros "" is chosen"

I spoke with TwistedMind and when he gets a bit more time we will try to add an improved version of the translation function, first we need to fix some issues but before we start spending a lot of time on adding this functionality and creating the translation tables ... are there people really interested on a translation (mainly to German)?

@Mods: could you modify the thread description to make it reflect the current status "v2.2.0"? -Thanks

@Jamz: Feel free to upload the updated version on shadowrun.nerps.net. In the mean time, what about the ODS version you uploaded. I can't get it to work, is there anything special I need to consider? It would be great if we can make this sheet available in other formats as well, regretfully Excel 2003 is as good as impossible (at last for me).

Okay here we go ... but please note that I changed really a lot (not every change is visible) and this version is only tested by 97% ... it is just too much for me (and my actual group) to make it a 100% in such a short time. But I promise all issues reported will be fixed as soon as possible!!!

    4. Creation of a master calculation Matrix covering all 'major' values (Attributes, Skills) (PLANNED)"
  • Corrected wealth calculation. There where some issues on dividing NY spent during BUIL and on ADVANCMENT
  • Fixed NY calculation issue when customs weapons is enabled
  • Corrected issues with Vehicle and Drone Modifications
  • Added a page featuring the primary vehicle/drone in a more illustrational way. I use this to prepare handouts for my group … I know this is not perfect and somehow ridiculous. I would be glad to receive feedback how to improve this page. Don't wonder I left the comments and remarks from my last Drone in english, you can/must adjust these details as required.
  • Started a how to and remarks section … not sure what to add … ideas?

    these errors wasn´t in the earlyer version...


    at this time, i think this version is to buggy ...
    nothing funktion normaly ...
    the 2.0.4 version is more usefull because you can generate a complete charakter...

    Correct, the named range was lost during near-term changes shortly before I uploaded v2.2.0 - Need to be more careful, hopefully we don't have the same issue with other named rages will verify in details tomorrow.

    Yes, that is true but not really a bug as this wasn't working ever before (as far as I know). Never then less a good point I need to think about how to add this best.

    Correct, the formula became invalid during move of the quality list to a dedicated page.


    What do you mean with nothing? Except for the Eyeware issue I don't agreee that this version is really "buggy". Me and my group already generated and advanced multiple chars with version without issues. But of course, especially at this point, I can't guarantee that there are no further "major" bugs, so usage is at own risk wink.gif but especially therefore testing by usage is much appreciated as this is the only way to get it finally free of even the smallest issue.

    i spend only a few minutes on the sheet and found 3 new major mistakes.... so i lost the interesst ....
    and generate my new charakter on the 2.0.4 exelsheet...

    the old version was a good one, why did you change the variation of the order?

    Just wanted to let you know that there won't be an update today. I am really sorry but during adding some fixes and performing general cleaning and streamlining I found an issue making the Technomancer output currently unusable, I would like to fix this and do a bit testing before uploading v2.2.1.

    Look like you got the right touch for finding bugs wink.gif, you should continue doing so. In regards to the order the old one was OK but not very reasonable/self explaining so I decided to devide everything into two main sections:;
    1. Stuff that is bought with points
    2. Stuff that is bought with money
    And within these two main sections I grouped everything that is connected and set in an order that matches the rule books order a bite more. I think people worked with older version could feel a bit uncompfertable but for people using this sheet the first time it will be a lot easier to use (I hope wink.gif)

      2. Improve scalability
      3. Would solve the Excel 2003 issue (as it would lower the total amount of unique cell formats)
    • More people then expected liked the Illustrational sheet for the primary vehicle and submitted suggestions how to improve this, I will take care of this and add a flexible box/section where you can add a more details like a description and an explanation (e.g. special ruling)
    • Due to the positive feedback (above) I will create a similar output sheet for weapons
    • Improve "Drones & Vehicles" output page
    • Improve "Combat & Magic" output page

    Question to everyone ... I would like to present this sheet not only as Excel 2007 version but also as Open Office (ODS) document, therefore I am a looking for an expert on this who could help me a bit. Because I tried multiple times but I always lost something essential.

    And now as promised here is the updated version

    v2.2.1. - Changes:

    and

    i scroll to the attributs... total aug attribut doesnt change...

    i select the finish button and on char sheet doesnt change the reaction attribut....

    i ve try it with the Muscle Toner II, and cerebral booster I,too




    the easies tries dosent work...
    why should i use this 2.2.1 version, i can get a paper&pen an calculate it self...


    pls forget your changes... and work on the 2.04 version

    Okay I don't what you are doing but something is wrong all of the wares above a working pretty fine (some of them are currently used within my group!). Maybe you can send me a copy of your char so I can take a look what is wrong here.

    Just received confirmation from a frind of mine testing v2.2.1, he wasn't able to reconstruct the problem above as well. So currently there is no confirmed issue known with v.2.2.1

    Would be great if some other people could confirm if the Cyber- and Bioware like:
    Reaction Enhancer (Rating 3)
    Muscle Toner II
    Cerebral Booster I
    are or aren't working for them.

    Dude, the guy is doing this work for free. How about you don't cop an attitude, and instead try to be constructive.

    There's a major issue with this new revision: knowledge skills are taking away from BP! I have 21 free KP but after I spent them I noticed they were taken from BP as well. I think it's because of the new formula in cell G240 (TotalSkillCost).

    Typos:
    "ACTVIE SKILL" should be "ACTIVE SKILL" (B117)
    "RANGEL WEAPONS TOTAL" should be "RANGED WEAPONS TOTAL" (B495)
    "RANGED WEAPONS & AMMONITION" should be "RANGED WEAPONS & AMMUNITION" (B468)
    "COMLINK & PROGRAMS" should be "COMMLINK & PROGRAMS" (two "m"s) (B701)
    "COMLINK & PROGRAMS TOTAL" should be "COMMLINK & PROGRAMS TOTAL" (B770)

    Otherwise, so far it looks good, but I'm not cool with losing 21 BP. smile.gif

    Oh, yes you're absolutely right ... to be honest I didn't get the formulas for this by "Jamz" 100%, just walked this thru and now I see it there is indeed a issue with KP and BP calculation. Already corrected this for next release, I will finish some other tweaks and changes (e.g. there are some minor issues with Vehicle display) before uploading the updated version on Sunday. I will correct the typos as well.

    In the mean time ... as a work around for this issue you can modify the BP spent too much in the BP breakdown!

    Has anyone tried this with Excel10(beta)? I'm stuck with options of Excel 2003, 2010-beta, or OpenOffice, none of which work with this sheet (but I think we knew that already for '03 and OO). I wanted to check to see if others have run into this issue or if the problem is all user error because I would have thought MS would have done a better job of making macros compatible... or at least not crash the app. Or is that expecting too much of them? smile.gif

    Anyway awesome chargen from the few times I've seen it on computers of those that have '07.

    You are right ... the version I shared before is not compatible with Excel 2010, it makes excel crash on all PCs (1x XP, 2x Windows 7) I tried. Seems to be caused bye an issue with the binary file support of 2010. I played a bit around It looks like when I export the sheet as .xlsm (Macro enabled 07 sheet) it is working fine. For the future I will share this as .xlsb and .xlsm hopefully this is working for everyone.

    Here is a short status where we are with version 2.2.2 - Updated
    • Done a makeover for the Vehicle output, fixed some minor issues there and improved general display
    • Consolidated both (Normal and House-ruled) versions of the "Vehicle & Matrix" page and the "TM & Matrix" page. You can now toggle between Normal and HR display on the advancement page.
    • Fixed issue with Knowledge skills causing excessive BP cost (Thx to Monster)
    • Corrected multiple typos (Thx to Monster)
    • Fixed a lot minor issues with the "Drones & Vehicles" page and aligned it with the new design of Vehicle output
    • Foci Types where missing - corrected
    • Fixed issues with "Combat & Magic" page, I would no call this ready to use
    • Done some general fixing of minor issues

    A few things I find lacking in this sheet are:
    1. Animal Handling skills from Running Wild

    Hello,

    I'm new to these forums and returning to SR after several years. Was trying to use these great spreadsheets to create my character and noticed some things missing. For negative qualities, Albinism from the Runners companion was missing, and also for Skills didn't see Arcana listed either.

    You know, nobody has mentioned that Nanoware is missing completely from this sheet. I add mine manually to the cyber/bio section, but I thought I should mention it.

    Is there a way (either automagically or manually) to add my Mentor Spirit bonuses to the calculated pools? For example, Dragonslayer gives +2 to Combat Spells and +2 to one social skill. Is there anywhere I can put that so it's reflected in the output sheets?

    Or, for that matter, to specify a specific Mentor Spirit? All I can find is the general Quality.

    Also, in Weapon Modifications, adding an internal Smartgun system triples the cost of the weapon. SR4A 322 says it doubles the cost of the weapon.

    I'm using Open Office. The zip file has two files in it, a .xlsb and .xlsm what's the difference between them?
    I noticed that the negative quality Virtual Personality is missing, and wanted to add it, but can't seem to figure out where the data is stored.
    I found the references the drop downs use, NegQualityList and NegQualityTable, but when I go to the cell locations they all appear empty. Are there hidden sheets or cells or something?
    I've also noticed that buying just 1 point in a knowledge skill on the advancement sheet costs 1 karma, it should cost 2.
    How does one buy a nexi, or multiple comlinks?

    Ok, so I figured out where the data is, in the hidden sheets.
    I've noticed some errors, which I'm going to list here and what the fix is.
    On the Advanced sheet for the knowledge skills it's not bringing forward the ratings from the build sheet.

    Change rating cells to:

    =IF($Build.C212<>"";$Build.C212;"")

    the referenced cell will need to change for each subsequent cell in the build sheet.

    To make the Karma cost show up correctly you will need to change the Karma cells as well to:

    =IF(C214<>""; ((VLOOKUP(C214;$callculations_and_skills.$A$149:$D$169;2)-VLOOKUP($Build.C210;$callculations_and_skills.$A$149:$D$169;2)))+IF(D214<>$Build.D210;1;0);"")

    again with all the cells changing sequentially for each row.

    The cost of buying a new knowledge skills is off by 1 as it costs 2 Karma for the first point in any knowledge skill.
    Change the Karma cells to:

    =((VLOOKUP(J214;$callculations_and_skills.$A$149:$D$169;2)))+IF(K214<>"";1;0)+IF(J214>0;1)

    again with all the cells changing sequentially for each row.


    Is there a way to define a technomancers Stream and or network? I've not noticed this yet.
