Panty-hose are also great for impromptu fan belts, tourniquets, bungie cords, shoe shining cloths and gags.

Actually one of the small "folding esbit heaters" used by some european armed forces would be nice. About the size of a cigarett case, with some heating tabs inside. One tab will heat about a liter of water to near boiling. No smoke

Folding spades. Never leave your trench without one.

Industrial strength two component glue. The stuff is used IRL to hold together crumbling rocks and glue in 4meter long, 1 inch metal anchors. Comes in two 30cm, 1inch plastic pouches. Just mix (Done by putting them in the hole and punching the anchor through IRL) This glues shut everything

Portable Blowtorch as used by metalworkers when installing eaves. Can be used for hard soldering or burning through lighter metals.

Inflateabel dolls. Dress in uniform, add a small heat source (like a self-heating rations heatpack) and get a nice "sentry"

Female Elf von a leash. In case you need to raise some money quickly.

A few home-made "Honey Pillar Firecrackers" (aka Heddies, a tube with a timer-fired blank in it)

A roll of razorwire and the deployment roller (Not the big concertina spools, this is a 50 or 100m role of a single strand 15mm wide razor-wire the size of a large 50m measurement tape)

The telefone number of "Armageddon Air" in case you need airborne fire support. Alternatives might be the phone number of "Santini Air" or of one Brig.General Bradley Elliot.

Condoms. The british army has some 20 uses listed for them. None of them involves a female

Portabel toilets for than long stakeout. Don't leave DNA samples! For short stakeouts man can use an empty tennis ball tube. And IIRC Kinsey Millhone can tell you what females use

Is the British army recruiting directly from those all-boy boarding schools?
Now, if you said that none of them involve sex, that's different.

Ordinary firecrackers are yet another distraction device.

A spraycan of Wi-Fi-Blocking Paint might be useful in some scenarios.

Holy Symbols are available "over the counter", but less useful in Shadowrun.

A bottle of brandy or other strong liquor is multifunctional as incindiary, disinfectant, and aid to Negotiation. Getting the enemy drunk worked for Odysseus.

Pepper Punch shouldn't have an "antidote" as listed in rules, but alcohol wipes (or bandanas soaked in brandy) probably help wipe it off affected skin. It's the only toxin in SR4 without an Availablity restriction; rules include PP grenades but not the mini handheld sprayer, a good holdout weapon. (It might slow down someone whose vest would bounce a derringer bullet.)

A Pepper Punch dispenser linked to a car antitheft system might be available in stores. Door alarm sensors that just go off when the door opens, no other effect, are available for travellers staying in cheap, dodgy hotels. Am electric gadget specifically for pulling pins out of grenades, linkable to anything from a programmed comlink to an electric eye, might help with the improvised traps.

This is mainly because I'm lazy but a pdf or something with all the suggestions in it would be a good thing. Otherwise I could just stop being lazy and pick through the post

We did once get started working on a PDF ebook sort of thing for this, and then real life got in the way.

Well, how about the start of a compilation of this post, then?

Wasn't there a book, The NeoAnarchist's Guide to Everyday life?

No wait, it was... FASA 7208 - Shadowrun - The Neo-anarchists Guide To Real Life

....

Ok, that's not what I was thinking of. I might have an "Everyday gear" pirintout somewhere, but not here. I'll try and stop by my buddy's house and pick up my 500+ pages of printed SR material later.

They do actually make wipes specifically intended to reduce the effects of OC exposure. Fox Labs' Sudecon wipes are reportedly pretty good at this.

I posted this a few years back... Mind you it's SR3

The Leatherman was already covered somewhere else, it makes it so you are considered to have "Inadequate tools" when being used.

As for the pocketlight, I thought that's what the already listed flashlight was, just about any flashlight from penlights to head-bashers.

There's lots of snappy ideas for Runner's Toys here, but why do you need a listing of costs and weights? Just translate website dollar prices to nuyen. Use a conversion factor if you have to, and maybe double the price for 10% off the weight.

I would figure the gear would be lighter than the current-day equivalent, due to the increased use of plastics, foam metals, room-temperature super-conductors, and the like.

They will be concerned that your balls clank. Clanking balls always concern me.

Hehe. I was thinking about this, combining both Tennis Balls and Hand Grenades. Cut a slit in the Tennis Ball, insert grenade. A F1 Grenade's diameter is under that of a standard Tennis Ball, but the "pin" section juts upwards and would still be outside of the Tennis Ball.

Carry cases. One game we spent some time discussing and trying to figure out what kind of case they needed to transport an object they "aquired" safely and how they would go about getting them. Anything from armored briefcases to refrigerated carry usingts for biological transport(organs, bio weps, Dino-DNA wink.gif )

A standard professional news camera case is around the size of a human torso. Think of all the fun you could have fitting things in there. In addition, many generic cases are sold with moldable or changeable foam inserts.

Have you looked through the anarchist cookbook (a google search of "anarchist cookbook" will find you a copy on the 2nd hit if you don't have it)

It could also find you in a record with the FBI, though you can't get put on charges just for having it.

A couple of personal favorites:
Bleach, Amonia, Vinegar, Club Soda.
The two former is for removing DNA, the two later is for removing fingerprints.

Propane Tanks, portable sizes and larger versions. The smaller portable sizes work great for a camp stove, a propane lamp, or as part of a improvised explosive device.

Dremel tools and basically anything by Black and Decker. Good tools for the man on the go (And almost all of them can cut nails.

Butane canisters.

nitrous oxide canisters. Also known as "Laughing Gas" (the stuff your dentist uses on you), known by street racers as "NOS". When introduced to your engine, gives it a nice kick (and can also blow it out if it's not modified for it, or it's overused). When introduced in your body works quite well as a pain reliever (though causes b-12 deficiency if overused). Canisters are sold for it in sizes ranging from Propane Tank sized, to Helium tank sized, to canisters small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. Works well for an injured runner needing relief, or a rigger who absolutely must go faster (AND HAS AN EMPTY ROAD/SKY AHEAD OF THEM!).

Cantankerous
Man it sucks to be poor. wink.gif

My "special field kit mk2" consists of
*twenty extra large, thick rubber bands
*50meters of 20kilo mono filament line
*one box 50 matches, in water tight plastic baggie
*three rolls duct tape ---of course---
*one roll of electrical tape
*wire cutters/splitters
*two standard DRD road flairs
*I roll 2 meter x 2 meter plastic tarpaulin material
* 3 different sets of standard source batteries
*one set of tyro ground lens and a collapse able leather tube (instant primitive x3 telescope anyone? Plus the lenses have other uses)
*one oversized swiss army knife with as many attachments as I could afford when making the kit wink.gif

Now, before ya dis the old troll remember that all of this stuff fits in to something the size of a (troll sized) butt pack and before the addition of the swiss army knife cost about Y50. It sits in the saddle bag of the Harley and even IN Plex it can be a life saver in the right conditions. When you're stuck out in the Puyallup Barrens at night in early January with a chummer with a broken back that you don't dare move and the rain settling in and nothing with anything resembling a roof in range it means you end the night with a live chummer instead of a dead (or crippled) one. All you gotta do is remember to take the bloody thing. Thank god for the BSA and the lessons it teaches. Be Prepared. smile.gif

On this, we used homemade gas dispersal grenades loaded with various cleansing chemicals to neutralise our traces. Hand spraying our blood-splatter on-site took too long, lobbing a gas grenade into the room as we leave covered us most days and discouraged pursuit.
