Shadows of Hannover

Hmm, Hannover is the capital of the AGS. That fact will have major effects on the development of the city sure as hell. The old EXPO 2000 exhibition area is now a Z zone, according to an official German adventure set. But that's all information about my city in canon. frown.gif Seemingly Fanpro does not like our city too much.

Well, it definitely got overlooked in canon material, and that was exactly why i decided to use it in my current campaign. I´ve spent a month in Hannover in 1999 and that´s pretty much all i know about it, so i decided to lean on my ignorance and extrapolate everything out of my head. The players seem to be having a fun time. (We are all from Rio, Brazil and the characters are mostly from seattle and surroundings...)

Talking about living in Rio, it´s already a city where crime, corruption and corporate moves are everyday news, i wonder how it would be in 2066. smile.gif

A quick Google search also turns up the Sugar Grove Naval Communications Center as well.

And just to mollify Adam and keep this reply slightly on-topic, Shadows of Birmingham. Large monolithic concrete slab of a place that's a major transportation hub, home of nearly all of the UK's heavy industry with large Zeta-ImpChem and British Industrial (now Regulus) presences, and fairly close to the daisy eaters in Wales as well. smile.gif

From what I've heard it's a Bunker designed to withstand a Nuclear Attack, where the President and Cabinet would be taken if a Soviet ICBM Launch were detected.

That's under the Greenbrier hotel in White Sulpher Springs. I don't think it's seriously being considered for use anymore. I recall someone blaming the travel time from DC as a major reason, but I forget where I saw it.
Ceres
DC. Grr. Stupid traffic. Off topic.

As for San's mention of WV's potential-- I can see that happening, with the information given. I really don't know much about that area, as I only lived there for.. two years, I think? Something like that.

I'm wondering what would happen to DC and northern Virginia, now..? The Shadows of Northern Virginia? Well, we do have a lot of gang activity...
CountZero
I would love to see a Shadows of Portland (Tir Tarngere) meself.

Grinder
I'm sure there is information about it in the old TT-sourcebook.

DC, NoVA and parts of MD have been covered by Neo-Anarchist's Guide to North America, which has like 10 pages just on us smile.gif (yay!) They're not bad. A fun place to run, actually, especially if you like dirty politics.

No information would be different. Which is why Adam believes the ebook has the exact same information as the dead tree version.

I've got quite a lot on Winnipeg, my hometown. Probably enough for a short campaign. Here's a sample:

It's a major biotech center, and I've been toying with the idea of some sort of accident happening at the virology lab near the city's center.

It's damn cold here. (...usually. This year, it's a freakishly warm winter.) We have a really short summer, when we find every excuse we can to get outside. In July and August, you can't walk two blocks without running into a 'fest of some kind.

Winnipeg has a huge aboriginal population, and would probably be a focal point of some of the worst urban fighting in the genocide campaign and NAN seperation. Being close to the northern and western borders of the UCAS, it'd probably also be a site for a lot of relocation of displaced anglos and others. It's not hard to find a revered aboriginal site in the area. One of my favourites is the Spirit Sands, a site of healing.

We're also home to the largest French Canadian settlement outside of Quebec. I imagine it as becoming a sort of enclave. Perhaps even walled.

Home of Canadian Forces Air Command HQ. Probably not in the future, but that'd provide a good infrastructure for a major UCAS facility or a big corp to use. About a half-hour from here is what used to be another air base, closed down a few years back. It's actually mentioned in an early novel as a big smuggler stop.

A major thing to note about prarie towns is that they can be huge in area, because there's no geographical features to contain their growth. Winnipeg's area is many times greater than lots of cities which have much higher populations. An interesting development from this is that the infrastructure expands continuously while the tax-base to maintain it doesn't, so there's a big problem with urban decay as the rich folks keep moving to the outskirts.

I know I've posted some of this info before, but this seemed like a more appropriate thread.

I would have the free spirit of Louis Riel rise up and be on the tribal council. He was such a driving force before.

So far in Hamilton being a steel city with major companies like Defasco, i decided Saeder Krupp will be a major corp.

With 2 different worlds lower mountain and higher mountain, it really is 2 different worlds.

What really scares me is how bad the pollution will be in the future. As it is, we roll up the window and recycle the internal air from the car even when we pass over the skyway on a sunday. Sometimes the air is blue with that really gross smog. Although there is a big difference on the top of the escarpment, I think the people of hamilton still think they are safe from all of the contaminents in the air.

The only plus, is that you can get all of your daily metal requirements in one breath.
