oh. SR4. all is made new again. |
Exactly. I was trucking merrily along, describing a downed thug with a CMDT far-too-large for his small frame, and the player - who's running from some angry drones - leaves it. I asked why, he says "Flechette won't do beans to drones." I sez, "What? These guys have been loading slug." He sez, "You can't put slug in a CMDT, are you crazy?"
I was like, "So I been using slug in the CMDT since 1996, and now they're telling me I can't? Eat it."

I'm thinking they made it that way for some sort of weird game balance. Otherwise you could take longarms and be able to use what is essentially a short ranged high powered assault rifle. Bummer thing is the mag with only ten rounds....

I have a crazy idea, how about not having a full automatic shotgun? I have trouble imagining the recoil from just a 3 round burst.
EDIT Should that shotgun require the Automatics Skill?

Nope. If it did, so would the sliver gun and yamaha fubuki....
auto-shotguns exist in real life. which is, come to think, a good enough reason to exclude them from SR4. zing!

Why not just hire 3 burly men to beat you up? Cheaper than the shotgun.
You have a link?
EDIT Quick google brought up the AA12.
Also, can be fired easily using only one hand while maintaining target engagement.
Anyone here ever fire this weapon? How close is this PR hype to the truth of the matter?

That cycle rate looks lower than a typical AR. That should probably convert to only BF in SR. Even then keeping to 2 short bursts you have the of potential of firing more rounds per combat turn than the 18 rounds that 360/minute works out to.
don't get me wrong, they're not common, and they don't cycle at AR speeds. but
they do exist. granted, only one of those is in full production, but hey--SR is
the future! and the one that
is in full production is mean, mean, mean.

thats the way that 3ed cannon companion weapon creation rules made it make sense.

Nope, I'd have to say there's no way you can think about the SR3 rates of fire (or the SR4 ones for that matter) that would make them make sense, nevermind excusing the firearm design rules with them.
Here's a video (Realplayer) of the AA-12 at the Blackwater Shoot-out.
