@yoippariGo ahead and post IC about flying the flyspy up top. Below is what it sees up there.
[ Spoiler ]
In addition to whatever details you'd like to add yourself IC for flavor, you find five aerials - two are matrix relays, another is owned by Lone Star, and the last two belong to this building, but only one is sending a signal. The other is probably a backup or something.
There are a couple HVAC exhausts up here that lead inside. They stick out of the roof about a meter, then curve downward. The hole is protected by a wire mesh.

Added "Ether", KoneV's character, to the on hold list in the first post of this topic. Ether is a human hacker, and will be joining us as soon as it is appropriate (probably after this mission).

Hello to all!
Should I go ahead and post Ether's description (2bit: I made a separate one more focused on what other people see as opposed to the stuff about how the character thinks and all that stuff) and view of mages here? :)

Welcome to the game, KonevV. We all described our characters at the start of the thread, so you can go there to see what the other Alphas are like.

Hey KoneV. We have some basic stuff and contacts listed to help figure out who has what and why, go ahead and post some character info. Though you might want to hold off until your character is actually in the game as 2bit suggested.

cakeman & imperialus - the narrative is in a clump, if you need to interject somewhere along the way, do so.
It's been a few days; everyone check in please
yoippari, see if you can get something going between your character and
Glyph's so he doesn't go into posting hibernation out there in the parkade

Can a fly-spy (all I know is that it is "insect like") pick up a Shiawase Kanmushi? Can said Kanmushi fit through the grate?
2bit
Apr 25 2007, 05:34 PM
good question. Since the Fly-spy is in a higher size bracket and has legs, we'll say yes, but it cuts the Fly-spy's speed in half.
| QUOTE (King Arthur) |
| It could grip it by the husk! |
It's a simple matter of weight ratios.
And yes, the Kanmushi can fit through the grate. So can the Fly-Spy, but it's tight. It'd be a bit like playing
Operation. (handling test)

and because an etiquette roll is probably useful at about this juncture:
Roll=
Cha:7, Etiquette: 5, Tailored Pharamones: 2, First Impression: 2, Edge: 5 =21
And the roll:
21d6.open(6)
->
[2,1,
5,[
6, 5],2,[
6, 3],1,2,1,2,2,2,1,1,4,4,2,

Also, see your PM.

no worries. GMing my own PBP game right now so I've come to appriciate how time consuming it can be.
At any rate, here is a roll for Malleus to try and determine if either of the two are lying.
Cha 7 +Negotiation 5=12
Lets see if they're lying. (1d6=6, 1d6=2, 1d6=6, 1d6=6, 1d6=6, 1d6=5, 1d6=1, 1d6=6, 1d6=6, 1d6=6, 1d6=4, 1d6=4) WOW! 8 hits. Call me the human lie detector.

May 21 2007, 05:06 PM
Yes - Glyph especially.
Everything in a forum game takes a long time. This is the first time I've run one, and while for the most part I'm happy with how it's turning out, I've become keenly aware of the need to keep everyone's attention.

May 22 2007, 09:51 AM
I"m still here but now that I've connected the group again, which if I'm reading right we are just gonna get network access anyway, so the whole thing was in vain, I'm just not sure what else there is to do. Get employee files once we get access and google them I guess.
Cakeman
May 22 2007, 11:38 AM
If we go for the less subtle approach then tapping into cameras etc would be good, as would erasing any logs of our presence once we're gone
Your connection of the group is still valuable if you decide not to come into the building - this would be if you prefer privacy. I can't shake the feeling that our Johnson just wants to tag us

If we find someone, we could go for the takedown either right there in the office (in wich case Null needs to come inside) or out in the garage or some other place. Hide in his car? Nah, that never works does it?
2bit
May 22 2007, 02:50 PM
yoippari - your connection to the office interior is definitely still valuable. Malleus and Orion have network access, yes, but what the company doesn't know is that they can send information outside the building without going through the network.
Glyph
May 23 2007, 01:52 AM
I'm still here, and I will post Null's reply to Orion in a bit. I had pretty much covered Null before, and didn't want to interrupt the flow of the game with a bunch of "I'm still pacing the garage" posts. btw, can I assume that he got the data he asked for, and is more or less up to speed on things?

If you check up on Jessie and Malcolm, it takes about 10-15 minutes (because you actually have to call and talk to some folks in the Sons. You find just what you expect to find - legitimate members. Malcolm, the engineer, is more active than Jessie. They've attended events together, but they clearly are in different social classes.

Malleus would have passed out before you left the room. Just as the meeting was breaking up.
Cakeman
May 28 2007, 12:29 PM
Right. About the connection to High Rise and Null then, before I just assumed that Orion would notice a while after the meet. But now that it's just been established, is Orion aware of the link to the outside world?
2bit
May 29 2007, 02:15 AM
Since High Rise sent a message just to Malleus, no, Orion isn't aware of the connection, but if he checks at any time he'll see it.
imperialus:
[ Spoiler ]
you're out for five minutes - enough to get everyone worried but not long enough for paramedics to arrive while you're out. It seems like an instant. You remember feeling woozy - nothing more.
2bit
May 29 2007, 09:33 PM
Cakeman: Please edit your posts to make it sound like you sent those text messages while still in Jessie Reynolds's office, before Malleus's collapse. Malleus was yakking away with Jessie or something - throwing sixes on etiquette - and you had time to compose those IM's. That should solve any time-weirdness.

All: Witch Hunt 2 starts soon! Looks like Team B (the... "betas"? hmm...) may have as many as four members!
The second team will be running a parallel adventure, and the two threads will converge down the road, so that all eight of you can get caught in a Fireball at the same time.

I'm thinking efficiency!
This roster is subject to change, but here's the cast of our second team of Alphas:
Trigger as
Tyler James - human, merc
KoneV as
Ether - human, hacker
djinni as
Mr Whisper - human, merc
Saytr as
Coach - dwarf, bounty hunter
These guys are putting the final touches on their characters right now. I'm not worried about spoilers on either end, so both teams can feel free to check out what the other one is up to.

@imperialus: Malleus takes 1 box of physical damage from hitting the ground, which Orion hasn't gotten around to treating yet. I decided you do remember the stuff... in that place.
Malleus is 2 dice down on all tests until I let you know otherwise. . . distraction, or nerves, or something else - however you want to play it.
