Hey Trevor. Lookin for a mage eh? I think I might know a guy. How much is this spell worth? You can tell by the tone of his voice that hes being sarcastic. Happy always did have a way to think that he was ontop of everything, kind of a smug bastard. But he is expecting something for his time.

Work is, well the usual. Files, programs, it all turns to kind of a blur after a while. The same old thing. After your finished, its kinda late. You decide to hit the sack.

Smoke
You wake up and find a message from ShadowCat. Smart girl. You say outloud, but only in a whisper. You're entering the kitchen when theres a knock on the door.

Relaxing at home, Miko activates her security system, and sets a pair of watchers and a scaout to guard her while she views the matrix. She sets up her Black IC program, and begins going hover specs for small hover drones.

Whle the files are downloading, she begins goig over the video of the burning Calypso, seeing if she can find a way to enhance the image. Having little luck with the sihloutte, she begins hacking nearby cameras. There was the stop light ... so a few traffic cams.... there was also the car's feed from the limo, I should still have that feed, plus the stations cameras. Meybe a surveillance drone nearby?...

She begins tracking down her various leads, starting with the limo. The man could be nothing, or could be everything. She'd survived last night's mess of a run becuase she was careful and thorough, and gotten in to it becuase she wasn't.

No loose ends.

Smoke's eyes narrow as the knock reverberates through the house.
Spirit of Man, who knocks at the door?... Spirit of Air, conceal me.
Smoke steps into the shadows of the hallway, waiting for the spirit's reply.

Cat flies along the dron'es systems, sleazing her way past the security system easily. She immediately goes in to the logs frist , to see if it detected any hint of intrusion.

No, Spirit. Tell me, does the package have an aura? Is it warded? Smoke never leaves her hiding spot, waiting and listening.
Pierce, this place is tainted. I suggest we leave.
Spirit of Water, find me an unhindered path from this place. Find me a way out where there are no watchers.

Staying away from the decker, Cat discreetly accesses the drone's systems. She sets up a hidden back door access, hiding it within the iconography and encrypting it. Then she looks thourgh the drone's recordings.

No loose ends.

Trevor grins at the disconnect. Happy is anything but. That's how I like him.

He heads down to the bar - a little dump called ironically enough - Hole in the Wall. Trevor tips his hat to the bouncer who gives him a non-committal grunt. The barman waves him over and asks, What will it be there friend? Ooohhhh, that's right, you have a special taste.

Trevor smiles at their little ritual and replies, Why don't you donate a pint or two?

The barman known simply as Lucky brings out a well chilled, dark read liquid and passes it over to Trevor.

Trevor wires the funds over plus something extra to Lucky and waits for Happy to show.

It seems as if you've gone undetected, but the decker has relized someone is there.

You sit for a while and enhoy your "Beverage." The bartender avoids you. Though he knows, hes still a bit uncomfortable with your last comment. He simply serves you your blood, and walks away. Happy hasnt showed up yet, and its a half an hour since he said to meet you.

Cat copies the vid files without accessing them, not having the time to scan for a databomb. She clears it as soon as she's finished, completely deleting the files from the drone, and sends in an order through her admit access to dump all data logs from the last ten minutes (thereby removing any record of her accessing it), and setting the system to go on alert in 10 seconds, and consider the decker already in system as hotile. She then logs out, and makes sure to remove her data trail.

Touchy decker in a random drone. they must be looking a bit closer than I'd like. I'll have to go through other cams in the area quick.

Quickly but queitly, Cat begins scanning through the other cams in the area, making sure they are all wiped throughly clean.

If there's someone else looking in to it, hopefully they'll have had the same thought as me and start with the drone. Its IC attacking 'him' should buy me time to clear up any other loose ends.

The cams are still running, but nothing seems out of the ordinary.

Cat goes through the cam logs, making sure everything is properly out of place. Her intention is to remove the logs at the time just before, after , and during the 'accident', after copying them to look over later.

Once all the cams are complete, she runs an analyze over the file she downloaded from the drone, checking for data bombs, or any other unpleasant suprises.

Nah, I normally like it without the chill.

Lucky shivers a little after Trevor turns his head. Trevor is eying the newest entrant in the bar - a long legged blond elf.

Interesting. Too bad I'm full, I like elven vintages.

Trevor smiles at the girl and waits.

There seem to be One data bomb. Not too much for you too handle. All the cams are logged to do with what you wish even.

You wait, and wait, and wait. The elven woman has even aproached you, and asked a little bit about you. She cant help but talk to you. She tells you her name is Lilly. In the middle of that conversation with Lilly. You notice a peice of paper under your red stained glass. Its white, rectangleuar, and awfly suspsicious that you didnt notice it before, or notice someone putting it there.

Trevor passes Lilly his number and excuses himself to the bathroom. He picks up the paper as quietly and inconspicuously as possible. Once out of Lilly's sight, he takes a look.

Cat copies the contents, then wipes them off the cams. Then she quickly removes any system traces of her log in, cleans up her data trail for a ways, then logs out completely. She disarms the data bomb, while isolating the time frame on the cams of the 'incident', looking for any more angels on the Mystery Man. While the browse program is running that, she disarms the data bomb.

Every angle shows pretty much the same thing. A figure of a man standing over the flames. What you finnally can make out is that he is bald. And seems to be well built. Not too well built of course. After many hours of finding the same thing you get bored.

The photo is a clear message. Its a photo of Happy, tied up, covered in blood with his eyes closed.

Trevor's mouth whistles at his sudden intake of breath. Apparently, I am not the only predator out right now. Let me think. It has only been about two-and-a-half hours since I called him. If they knew to give the photo to me, they know who I am ... but they should know who Happy is to me. Hmmm, let me check my comm.

Trevor checks his comm hoping for some answers.

Your com looks normal. You take a look at the call placed to Happy. It gives you the time, date, and duration of the call, but not much else can be found. Everything appears to be in order, aside from the voilent photo of a dwarf in Trevors other hand.

For now Cat saves and encrypts the pertinnet parts of the files, deleting the rest. SHe takes some extra time to scan the file form the drone making sure there are no viruses attached. Then she encrypts everything and copies it to an OC, deleting it from her commlink.

Tired, she sets a few mroe watcher spirits, and gets some sleep.

Rising ofur hours later, she does some work while it's still day light out, working for five hours to make sure everything's taken care of. Once finished, she showers, exercises, then heads out to pick up her new bike.

Trevor examines the photo to see if there is information he can use to determine where Happy is.

A second glance at the photo is as disturbing as the last. Even in your line of work and feeding, you've never seen something l ike this. You notice that one of his eyes are missing. And his mouth is sewn shut.
You stare at the photo for a few more minutes when your com rings.

You find the directions in a message on your phone given to you by the Johnson from the Black lodge. The place you find is a decent shop. You get the bike. It seems to be better than yours. This guy wasnt kiddin.

Trevor gets a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach - a hold over from his mortality he reminds himself. He has a feeling that those who did this will be on the other line. He answers quietly:

A voice comes over the com. Sounds Feminine, but obviously filtered.
Did you enjoy the photo? I should hope so. Theres more where that came from.
The voice sounds as if its angry.

Cat spends the night out getting used to her new ride, then takes it in to a work shop, paying the grease monkey $200 for some work space. She spends the next three hours taking apart a number of arts of the bike, scanning it over and over again for tracers, then begins to thoroughly scour it's systems for any sort of spy programs, dormant viruses, trojans, etc.

The bike is clean. You do find some interesting autosofts for a better ride. But other than that, its yours to command.
As you work, your com rings.

Cat fisrt confirms whether it's her regular com or her comm for shadow work. then answers appropriately.

Cat doesn't hang up yet, but she does activate her stealth and armor programs, and activates her IC incase of incoming programs, and starts her track program.
