Lady Door
Olivia looks distressed, there are dark circles under her eyes and she looks almost... haunted.
Vaughn... whatever it is you're working on. Be careful. There is pain. So much pain.... pain that dwells within a man but yet harms him not. One of those you seek will be found, but not how you would want. There is water and death, she is trapped inside. She is dead but was not to have died.
There is still another, she still lives but there is so much pain. She is in agony.
The are connected by a string, a string of... code. Electric. The Matrix.
She finishes speaking and sighs.

Thanks Liv. I know these sorts of things aren't easy for you. I'l lfactor that in to what we find. I really appreciate your help. Are you ok?
Lady Door
I'll be fine. I know how to deal with these kinds of things. Concentrate on what you have to do to find the other girl. I fear her time on this Earth grows short. If I recieve anything else, I'll let you know immediately. Good luck, Vaughn. She smiles weakly.
fistandantilus4.0
Vaughn nods, then disconnects. He walks over to Cole.

Hey Cole, I need you to take a listen to this. It's Olivia.

Vaughn sends her the recorded conversation, and waits for her to go over it.
Lady Door
At the mention of Olivia's name, Cole's eyes widen and she nods. Having worked with Vaughn for a few months now, Cole's seen Olivia's premonitions in action.
Whoever she is, she's talented and Cole was never one for turning away help, no matter what guise it came in.
Cole listens to the message intently and then turns to look back at the trunk of the car. Sighing, she nods to the forensics team to open it. She hands the comm back to Vaughn and walks over to the car, pulling latex gloves on as she does.
SinN
Three men stand and stare in what appears to be a bit of terror. When you arrive at the trunk, you see what has them spooked.
The body of Gabby Spencer.
Her mouth is sewn shut, and has peircings on her eyebrows, ears, and nose.
Lady Door
Cole slips her hand into her pocket and pulls out a mentholated face mask, slipping it over her nose and mouth to mask the smell of death and decay. Looking at the men, she glares.
What's wrong with you? Snap out of it. You're professionals, for crying out loud. Stop gawking like frightened children, process this crime scene and give this woman the respect she deserves. She steps up and activates her eye recorder, saving the image automatically into an encrypted file.
SinN
A medley of apologies rings through out the crowd. You're about to investagate the trunk when you notice Jimmy staring at the body. It looks like hes about to cry.
fistandantilus4.0
Vaugn starts scanning, and using his olfactory sensor to process all the scents, looking specifically for any checmicals, while at the same time blocking him self from acutally smelling it. He uses his eyes again to look for more specific details, and anything loose in the trunk.

Vaughn
You smell some anti-freeze, and some oil. But that can be explained by the two bottles near the body.

Cole
You hear him speak. My god....its Gabby.
Lady Door
Cole turns to face Jimmy. Do you know this woman, officer? Out of the corner of her eye, she indicates for Vaughn to come over.
SinN
Uhh...Gabby Spencer....she was my daughters best friend. Shes been missing too. I wasnt supposed to be working on the case.....too emotional for me ya know?......Im sorry for not saying anything....just didnt want to bring my problems to work....
With those last three words, he breaks down, hard.
Lady Door
Cole sighs and picks up her commlink, contacting dispatch.
Dispatch, please contact Criminalistics and have them send me another supervisor. Also, please have the unit psychiatrist notified; we have an officer with an involvement with a current case. He'll need to be treated and then de-briefed.
Cole calls over on of the other patrol officers on duty.
Office Dunnhill, please take Jimmy back to the station. Lt. Wong will want to see him.
Cole waits until Jimmy is led away and placed in the back of one of the squad cars before turning to Vaughn.
What the frag was that?! Did you know of the relation? Why the hell wasn't this in the report? And who the hell let him work this case? I'm calling the Lt. right fraggin now!

No, I didn't know. And I am the Lieutnant. Someone fragged that up bad. Right now though let's focus on the crime scene. Let the desk clerks worry about their own foul ups.

Her mouth is sewn shut. What's the deal with that. The perp must be a bit unhinged. I wonder if that was done pre or post mortem.

Vaughn zooms in with his cyber eyes, examing the sitching to see if the strees is consitent with dead tissue, or if they stitches were put in place while she was alive.

EditLogic 5 5,2,2,2,4,1 = 1 hit.
Lady Door
More likely, it's a message of some sort or there's something in her mouth he wants us to see.

Upon further examining, you find out that the stiches were made while she was still alive.

A short feeble man aproaches.
Excuse me, sir? Um. We ran a check on this girl, and found something in her medical records. She appears to have a condition that basicly makes her heart very weak. If we could run an autopsy, we can narrow down if she was murdered, or just simply died.

Vaughn turns and loks at the little man. I'm sorry, "just died"? Perhaps you missed the stiches in her lips or the fac that she was tied and dumped ina trunk, driven to the Sound, and pushed in. Who the hell are you?
Lady Door
Cole eyes the man balefully.
I believe that would be better left to the Coroner. Also, considering these stitches are peri-mortem that would indicate to me that whether the death itself was accidental or not, there was still an intent to harm.
What the hell is in with these men? They are supposed to be criminalists and they come across as the worlds biggest wimps. This is giving me a headache. Cole rubs her temples.
Okay, everyone.. let's wrap this up and get the body to the morgue. Vaughn, since you're Lt. you should contact the station and make sure Officer Harwin doesn't talk until we've cleared the scene and notified next of kin.
fistandantilus4.0
Vaugh quickly sends the request to HQ , still forgetting that he is a Lt half the time, despite what he said to Cole, and nods her his thanks. She's been around him enough to know, no point in letting the officers in on the joke.

While waiting for a coroner, Vaugh continues looking over the body and trunk, wondering why the hell the CSIs aren't doing it.

You both see it. A shiny peice of metal. Curved and smooth. Near the door of the trunk.
Lady Door
Cole motions towards it and calls for one of the criminalists.
Officer, .. there in the door. What is that?
Cole zooms in using vision magnification and takes a quick set of pictures, saving them to the same encrypted file.
SinN
Im not sure. I didnt see that before. Must have been under the body. I cant see it quite well. Hold it up for a second.
Lady Door
Cole regards the officer with incredulously. I'm sorry. Did you just ask me to pick it up? Please follow procedure. First, we document with photography both astral and mundane, then we run a chemical analysis with a sniffer to detect for explosives, and then we run an astral scan. We never just pick something up. Cole waits for the officer to perform the tests before moving towards the vehicle.
fistandantilus4.0
Vaugh chuckles at Cole's strict adherence to procedure. He starts scanning whatever it is with his nose, as well as his eyes, and takes the afore mentioned shot with his astral film, waiting for the CSI's to do the same.

SinN
The forensics team continues to work under the watchful eye of Cole.
The tow truck guy just finish's loading his truck when he begins to retrack his hook and wire. He is somewhat near the car and over hears the conversation. He appears to hesitate then speaks very meek-like
Umm...actually, thats a nuase gauge...
fistandantilus4.0
Sir , get the hell back please.
Lady Door
Cole once again looks livid. Officer Domingo, please escort this gentleman OFF MY CRIME SCENE! From the look on her face there are more then a few officers going home with demerits in their file tonight.
SinN
He looks a little shocked. But then reduces to being kind of meek again.
Oh....ok. Just thought I'd help you with what its used for. Have a good day.
He walks back to his truck, winding up the hook. And is moving as fast as he can.
fistandantilus4.0
Put a note on my 'link to cite Officer Domingo for being a dumb ass and letting the truck driver right up and inspect the body while we're looking at it.
SinN
The Tow truck guy is about to get into the truck when Officer Domingo aproaches him and tells him to step out of the car. Searches him, and finds nothing. The man climbs back into his tow truck and drives away. Before he gets completely off the scene, you both notice he has a simalar peice of metal hanging from his nose. Only his is smaller.

Lady Door
Cole turns to Vaughn and raises and eyebrow.
Listen, I'm going to head back to the precinct and see what I can do to get started on this. Do you want to notify next of kin or should I? Cole had argued strongly for the department's therapist to be the one to notify next of kin in cases like this but had been shot down by a few of the higher ups who were going for a 'kinder, gentler, cuddly' Lone Star image. Cole hated making the calls. She was always a wreck afterwards.
fistandantilus4.0
Cole, that driver was making all that fuss about his nose ring. The missing person's report said she had no piercings. These are fresh.

Vaughn takes a good look at them to see if they're pre-mortem as well.
SinN
The same as her sewn mouth. Peircings were made before death.
Lady Door
Cole just nods. It's not uncommon for ritualistic style killers to decorate their victims bodies peri-mortem as a way of exerting a sort of final control. I'll make sure that makes it into the psych profile. Your friend, the psychic, said something about a great deal of pain. It's not a far guess to say that whoever this sadistic son of a bitch is, he gets off on inflicting pain. If you're friend is right about the victim being an accidental death, it's possible he enjoys prolonging the pain, that he feeds off of the energy he creates.
fistandantilus4.0
It's possible that the other missing girl could still be going through this. Let's send the car in to the forensics lab, let them pick at it.

Then like you said, you can head back to HQ, you can call the family. I've got to go see someone that knows this sort of stuff. Sound like a plan?
Lady Door
Cole sighs sadly. I'll call the family then. You are definitely doing the next one though. Where you headed? Will you be out of comms range or can I still reach you?
fistandantilus4.0
Deal. I'll still be in the plex. It'll only take me an hour. Maybe by then forensics can tell us a bit more about our crime scnene. You go on ahead, I'll make sure they've got everything bagged.
Lady Door
Cole looks worn. She doesn't often lose her temper and you can tell she's close to losing it now. Thanks. I owe you. I just have to get out of here for now. Call me if anything comes up and I'll do the same.
fistandantilus4.0
Why don't you stop and grab something to eat first. Might help settle your nerves. I'd suggest a drink nomrally but...
Lady Door
Cole raises an eyebrow. My nerves are fine. I just can't take the incompetence anymore. Without another word, Cole strides over to her car and gets in.
SinN
Cole Leaves the scene to go calm her nerves, and call the family.
The call goes as expected. Very emotional and very hard. Even for Cole. No officer likes to tell a family that their daughter has just been found in the trunk of her car, naked, and her mouth sewn shut.
I need to go get a drink. She thinks aloud. Looking at the clock seeing how its only 11.
Damn..
fistandantilus4.0
Vaughn just shakes his head, and waits for the forensics team to finish baggin and tagging everything.
