It might be up to Sundown or Crash to come through on the social front.

Boris The Ear will be getting to the Socket ahead of most people. So whenever the Metroplex Bus gets him there he will scout the physical location and observe the area in detail: Specifically interested in physical exits, and later on checking out who goes in and out and what gets delivered. Boris will attempt to blend in to the neighbourhood and watch for the many hours until the meet.

Actually, my RL games resulted in Faces with 6 dice (Cha 3 or 4, Influence SG of 2 to 3) and they're doing fine. So, Nikoli or Fortune, you both could probably act as decent Faces.

As for timestamps, I'm not a big fan of them, some games use them more than others. More often than not, I think they're most effective when the GM posts them at the top of her/his posts to keep the important timing in line and then the player posts can be free-formed. But, you did hit on probably the most interesting things about online gaming, DireRadient, and that is the asychronous nature of posting results in non-linear IC thread.

QUOTE
I can show you when you get there. What else? Oh yeah, you guys made me shower and get a new set of threads last time. I still got them on, and a new pair of pants, only one hole in em, so maybe I could just shower?

Classic!!

You all ready to move onto the meet?

Panzergeist, you still around?
Dashifen
@DireRadiant

The critical glitch on infiltration probably means that the door man at the Socket sees you hanging out for a few hours. The glitch just means you stick out like a sore thumb. 'Course, this doesn't seem to be out of character for Boris, so if you're good with that, then we'll leave those rolls as is and I'll post an IC message later tonight (have to go back to the tattoo parlor tonight biggrin.gif) as to what Boris sees outside the Socket.
DireRadiant
That's fine with the glitch then. Boris is at least half a man, and can handle it I just didn't want anyone else to get hassled because of it.
Slacker
Moving on to the meet is fine by me.

Slacker will use his rudimentary skills at Palming to hiding his pistol up his sleeve a little better. 5 dice (1, 3, 6, 6, 6) = 3 successes.

He intended to be there 20 minutes or more ahead of time, but he pays so little attention to time he only arrives 5 minutes early.
Nikoli
Morgan intends to be there 30 minutes early, scouting the area.
Dressed in the Actioneer suit (Armor 5/3) the hidden arm slide with the streetline special. The Decoy commlink is in passive mode unless any security zones require otherwise.
Palming test for addtional hiding of the streetline: 3 Hits
Perception test for casing the outside: 4 hits
Ettiquette test to fit in: 3 Hits
Stanley spoofing main Commlink: 4 Hits
Shadow
I can negotiate ok so I can if you all want.

Sorry for the absence, still moving.
DireRadiant
Boris didn't bring any weapons, just himself, which should be offensive enough.
Nikoli
If anyone minds me stepping up as something resembling a co-ordinator let me know.
BTW, DireRadient, loving Boris, just trying to not be rude to you as a player.
DireRadiant
It's a fun exercise doing the whacky stream of consciousness. But no one worry, if you insult Boris odds are he won't even realize it, and even if he does, he would probably simply accept it. I don't understand why the Team hasn't shot him yet.

On a purely mechanical level, Boris is almost purely average across the board on attributes, yet it works out that Boris is required to roll for any social skill, even when for most people no roll is required, and he would fail 2/3 of the time, and critical glitch 1/8. So theoretically a critical glitch on 1 out of 8 social interactions... How does he survive? Well he is a dwarf and fairly tough...

I don't take IC insults to Boris OOCly, you should be insulting him, I can't imagine anyone not wanting to. So feel free. Maybe we should have a contest for the most entertaining insult to Boris?
Panzergeist
Some stuff has come up, and it looks like I won't be able to play after all. Sorry if I slowed you guys down. Good luck on the run.
Nikoli
Sorry to see you go.
Nikoli
So we lost our Rigger?
Sad.
Do we have another person witing in the wings to step up?
Might be time to call Bhudda72.
Fortune
QUOTE (Nikoli)

Doesn't bother me.

Flair is too paranoid at the moment not to be packing. She'll have her normal armament and her work clothes (street chic outfit covered by a long green armored jacket).
Dashifen
Blitz also expressed interest but she's usually a mojo-slinger from what I can tell. Didn't Fenris and Buddha indicate a desire to play and then back out earlier?
Nikoli
That might be, though I thought it was due to numbers not lack of interest, though I know Bhudda is really busy lately. We need a dedicated rigger I think.
So, just to refresh my memory, who is still on the team and what is their specialty and alternate?
DireRadiant
My personal impression, bound to be innaccurate:

Slacker - Slacker the Hacker
Fortune - Flair the Razorgirrrrl
Nikoli - Morgan the Thief, formerly Stanley the Man.
Shadow - Sundown the Burned Out
Dire Radiant - Boris the Unclean

Should we bump the recruitment thread to raise visibility?
Nikoli
where'd you get Stanley? that's just the name of the agent. As Morgan is a former project manager at the ECSE (reporttedly perished in the goings on of the second crash) the Stanley thing is a joke. Morgan Stanley, an investment firm. The Bike will be referred to as JP, for JP Morgan, a business mogul and not sure what the Flybot will be nicknamed, trying to draw out the Morgan/Financial jokes.
Dashifen
Flybot could be Meryl or Lynch.
DireRadiant
QUOTE (Nikoli)
where'd you get Stanley?

I know it's originally Mason, but I couldn't resist the theme with the financial houses. I got carried away in making the list.

Flybot to Merril Lynch is a little hard as Merril Lynch is that big bull. COuld be one of those Opposite things.
Nikoli
Maybe Freeman, to shake things up...
DireRadiant
Boris is going to patiently wait outside as cover during the whole meet unless there is some weird event at the Socket that makes think he has to come in and save everyone. Let me know if you need some rolls for Boris during this time. I have some posts planned for when people actually start eating.
Nikoli
lol, good stuff.
i think there is a term for runner like boris.
two come to mind: distraction & dead man walking
Dashifen
Yeah, but it's great fun to read biggrin.gif
Slacker
QUOTE (Dashifen)
Yeah, but it's great fun to read biggrin.gif

Agreed.
Dashifen
You should all consider that the mesh network between those within the room is fine and you can continue to communicate in AR as you have been. Communication with Boris is probably not going to happen in two-way. If anyone's Signal + ECCM Program rating exceeds 6 then you can still communicate out, but most communication into the office space is probably deadened by the wireless inhibiting paint.
Dashifen
Also, did we want a rigger? Now would be a good time to try and track one down as I'm busy over the weekend and we're getting into the nitty gritty of the game.
Nikoli
I'm pushing a modified 10 signal with rating + ECCM, the flybot is at 8 I believe, while the bike is at standard signal.

And a rigger would be good, since I don't think anyone here can fill in.
Nikoli
Observe Bear in Detail:
15 dice: 7 hits
Intuition (4)+Perception(5)+sensory mods(All but taste at 3)+Perceiver actively looking(3)
Slacker
Loading up his Scan program, while still in AR, Slacker is going to look to see if Bear has his commlink on him. I doubt it's in any thing other than Hidden mode so that will require a Electronic Warfare + Scan (4) Test. Rolls: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6. That's 5 hits, so I should be able to spot it, unless there is quite a bit of interference.
Dashifen
@Nikoli
The Bear is a big man. You'd guess he weights in around 120 kg (260 lbs) and he's tall, perhaps a little over 2 meters. You're pretty sure that he's got a concealed pistol in a holster under his left arm, hidden by the label of his double-breasted jacket. Around his neck hangs three bear claws on a leather thong that you can see whenever the motion of his head moves his beard out of the way. There's a commlink strapped to the outside of his pants, hanging from his belt.

@Slacker
You are able to detect the hidden node from Bear's commlink.

@Shadow
No watchers, no spirits. Bear and the team appear to be alone.
Dashifen
I've got a full day. I'll try to do an IC post from Bear over lunch but I have to get back to work now. Just wanted to follow up from the weekend.
Fortune
Flair might as well give the guy the once over.

[ Spoiler ]

*First time actually using your dice roller in a game, Dashifen. Hopefully it keeps these kind of results coming. biggrin.gif

[edit] Seeing your newest post, I'll just assume she notices a little less than Morgan. wink.gif [/edit]
Nikoli
to be clear, are we awaiting another player?
Slacker
Is there any traffic going into/out of Bear's hidden commlink, or any other comm traffic in the room that I could see?
Dashifen
@Nikoli
No, we're waiting for me at the moment. I haven't gotten any response to a new player so I can always NPC a rigger for you all if you want me to, or we can give it a shot without one. Would anyone want to re-tool their character to be rigger.

@Slacker
No, there's no wireless traffic involving Bear's commlink at the moment. The room at large contains the mesh network for you all but that's it at the moment. Unless you want to scan for other nodes that my be hidden.
Slacker
I'll go ahead and do another Scan for any other hidden nodes.
Electronics + Scan Tests:
#1 = 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 5, 6, 6, 6 (4 hits)
#2 = 1, 2, 4, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6, 6 (4 hits)
#3 = 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 5, 5, 5, 5 (4 hits)

That should be more than enough.
Shadow
Unless you think we cannot do it without a rigger lets move on without one, or you can NPC it.
DireRadiant
Is it possible to set up the IC mission terms to allow for a rigger to be added later? Whether or not one joins us is of course entirely contingent on someone wanting to, and Dashifen allowing it.

If a rigger is required for mission success, then we need to work out what to do about that.
Fortune
Really, if we just need a driver, I'm sure one of our characters knows a fixer to set us up with a good one. That's all part of the game anyway.
Dashifen
I do not feel that a rigger is necessary for this module. In fact, the other two times I've used it was for third edition and I didn't use the third edition rigging rules, so there wasn't even the option of riggers.
Fortune
Onward! biggrin.gif
DireRadiant
No Rigger Needed = More Garbage time
Fortune
Perception check for Flair ...
[ Spoiler ]
Dashifen
Actually, BaronKen, who asked a few questions back in the recruitment thread just offedered to play. He's a newbie to forum gaming but without the opportunity to learn, we'd all still be stupid, or something like that. Anyway, he'll play a rigger and has chosen, to save time, to play a somewhat modified version of the sample character drone rigger. He's been following along already with the action so we'll consider that he's been a part of the team since the start. It'll be up to him if he's at the meet or if he's out with Boris wink.gif
Nikoli
Excellent

Psst, folks like Boris prefer the more PC terms like "Lunatic", "Bum", and the ever popular "Distraction-for-the-hell-hounds"
BaronKen
Character is Stig, dwarf rigger with a penchant for Sci-Fi sims and junkyards. Usually has a grease smudge on his nose (among other places).

Looks like I'm arriving late in the Step-Van, looking for somewhere to park and checking out the situation outside The Socket.
[ Spoiler ]

[ Spoiler ]
DireRadiant
Without needing the perception roll, Stig can easily spot Boris hanging around 108th street outside the socket.

As to what else you see, I don't know.

And Boris is distracted as he is talking to the garbage as he rummages through it.

Now for the tricky part, can you find parking?

I can tell the halfer reputations will take a beating here, we are going to be known as the low down dirty dwarves. Though you have to admit being well greased helps when trying to run away from the gangs of big people. No one wants to win the "Catch the greased Halfer" contest.
